That is about another 250 to 270 miles of driving range in 15 minutes. Really, not that much of a hassle.
@ProXcaliber youre not taking multiple other factors into acount. Your 300 range is drastically diminished by weather, the constant ramping of amps in stop and go which creates more heat in cells, cables, lugs, whatever capacitors, contactors and motors. Damn near any technician worth any salt avoids electric. Then to top it off the stupid long battery charge wait time. O you got rapid chargers. Tell me you dont know anything about how those work and how extremely bad those are for cells, and how they shorten the life of those 10k dollar worth batteries. Not to mention there isnt a single cell on the market that has a longer then 7 year life. Compared to regular fuel youre screwed in so many ways with electric.
@@evenflo75 Weather does not have anywhere near the effect on EVs as you are making it out to be. These vehicles are all tested in different environments before they are even considered for mass production. And this includes EVs from all manufacturers and even regular gas or diesel cars. It's part of the process of making a car before selling it to people. The stop and go of regular city driving or even driving in traffic is where an EV exceeds over a regular gas or diesel car. This is due to the simple fact that an engine has to continue running for all your things to continue working in your gas or diesel car. For example, AC, radio, lights, accessories, etc. Where an EV uses VERY little energy when stopped, even with the AC running. These vehicles are made with efficiency in mind, so all the systems in an EV are designed to use as little power as possible. You also clearly don't know how electricity works because if what you stated is true then things like the circuits in your house wouldn't last more than a few years with constant cycling. You also don't realize that most of these batteries are warrantied for an average of 8 years or 100,000 miles, and some even more than that. As for the fast chargers, there is actually a study conducted by multiple research firms that has shown that there is VERY little difference between fast charging and home charging. The main difference is how the battery is cared for. Meaning not charging over 80% unless necessary and even if you do charge over 80%, using some of that range within the next 24 hours. You seem like you are behind the times on your information, and just listing off talking head anti-EV points. I'd suggest looking into the things that worry you and checking with multiple sources before coming to conclusions. Maybe also don't rely on information biases. Learned the head aches of EV charging when I was out 50 miles from home with 20 miles left. Couldn’t find a single fast charger and the few on the map were either out of service or being used when I got to them. Then had to make accounts and download apps for each one I tried. A few of them wouldn’t work at all for some reason and I had to call their customer service where they had to reset them and all this crap. Was a nightmare. Figured out the flow eventually and was able to keep it charged up full day to day but if u forget or somehow don’t get charged up once u can be in big big problems. There’s wayyyy too many slow chargers in most towns and barley any fast ones. With 3 miles left I finally got to an open V3, which was yet another brand so downloaded another app and made another account and got 50% in line a hour and half. But being out trying to get a decent amount of charge and make it home took over 5 hours. So yes I get some of the pros of EVs but with the current set up it’s just not for me. My gas car can get like 500 miles on one tank and there’s gas accessible everywhere and when there’s a gas station listed on a map, it’s actually there and works. Once EVs can get 400+ miles and can charge up to 80-90% in good time then I’ll probably get one bc I like the power / torque, I like the quiet of them. That is about another 250 to 270 miles of driving range in 15 minutes. Really, not that much of a hassle.

@@MysdiaUnless of course they used the same code math as the installers in the video did, and that home charger can’t operate if you’re actually home and doing other things.
I feel like this video sums up Tesla owners as a whole perfectly 😂👌
Blame the customer for the companies negligence... lmao. Shouldnt have bought an inferior product
It's not negligence, this was an upgrade from the first version. This type of supercharger is now two versions old..
The first version didn't have power sharing, you just got 75 kW.
This was the next version where if there was no one beside you, you could basically also take their power.
So it was just an upgrade from that.
New stations are not only more than twice as powerful, but they don't do this type of power sharing anymore.
Also it's not an inferior product even with how it is lol
@@matthewsantoro4441man please don’t “educate” them. Make fun of or belittle them to the best of your abilities but again please never “educate” them.
That’s not no supercharger 😭 that’s a power cable for a ev
It’s called a super charger because that’s literally what it is
😂😂😂 I'm waiting for the solar van
My Audi S4 has a supercharger and I have never had any issues like this
Learned the head aches of EV charging when I was out 50 miles from home with 20 miles left. I like all the tech they tend to have over gas cars even from same brand and model, ie Benz. But right now there’s too many possible issues for ppl who are fairly busy and sometimes need to drive 150+ miles in a day, throughout the day. Gas car is just less worry and more freeing. But I will say, the charging costs are much less then gas in calI. Gas prices will push many ppl to EV when they realize they can go the same 100 miles from like 1/5th the cost….
Yep the ammount of money spent on gas infrastructure is insane. If they spent even a fraction of what was spent on getting gas to people on electric chargers it would make a huge difference.
Not when they are paying for that 100k piece of shit. Youre just figuring the cost to fill it. Theres also the cost to pay for it. Fuck that electric junk.
@@tomriley5790 You wanna know something dick WE ACTUALLY OWN GAS CARS THAT ARE GOOD why spend so much money on a trend that will be gone in 2 years big waste of tax dollars
You can always wait for a charger to be free, if let’s say there’s 5 cars charging at least one of them should be finished soon right?
Anyway I’m not getting any car at all
If this doesn't 100% convince you to NEVER buy an EV, then like electing a dem, you deserve what you get.
I drive a Tesla all throughout high school and it was actually just the perfect car. It fulfilled 95% of all my needs. I graduated 6 months ago and now have an apartment and unfortunately without being able to charge at home it makes it more of a hassle, so now I'm looking for a different car. But to say EVs are trash is dramatic
It doesn't make them trash. It just makes them 5% useless. The fact is that an automobile is not a 5% of the time it doesn't meet your needs. @@mrgman757
So I'm kind of curious what aspect of this actually genuinely bothers you? This video is basically just saying if you use an old USB port it's not going to be as fast....
Which is how it works..
For the vast majority of people the only time you will ever be at one of these stations is if you're on a road trip, the car will tell you how many stalls are available it will automatically route you to a less busy one if it can, what is the problem here lol
I don't need any of this, because whether I appear at some gas station 100 miles from anything else, or if I show up at Costco with 75 other cars, I'm 10 minutes until full. Done. I don't have to worry about the vast majority of the time. I can rely on 100% of the time. Just think if your surgeon said that 60% of the time he operates quickly. The rest of the time it is an unacceptable outcome. You can dismiss charging times, but it doesn't change reality.@@matthewsantoro4441

Sometimes 1A and 2A are the ones that share power tho. If you plug in and dont get full power, move over one spot
These electric superchargers seem pretty crazy to me. I'll just stick to diesel and turbochargers
We probably should still look for alternative fuel though, oil is finite.
@@Bobspineable hydrogen, maybe? It has acceptable energy density and is better for the environment, but I don’t know how well it actually works in the cars that use it
@@Bobspineable you can make diesel fuel from plants. diesel engines will produce carbon so you can grow more plants. diesel is the way to go.
@@genxray951isnt the yield of diesel lower? Hydrogen is basically a product of almost any industrial process, thus far easier to obtain
@@ch4z_bucks Hydrogen storage is still being figured out. Biodiesel can be made from used cooking oil, or if you want to subsidize farmers, fresh oil. It's already being used a lot.
Biodiesel will corrode natural rubber sealing, but luckily that's not being used any more. It tends to dissolve old deposits and might clog up filters on first use. After that you just worry about water contamination and temperature…
No, no, the trick is to not buy an EV until the charging infrastructure is built out or only use an EV for short runs based around your house or business. Range anxiety is just not worth your health!
There is no range anxiety. Maybe 10 years ago there was but not anymore.
@@ProXcaliber As it is now, one charger broken or out of order and you are stuck so that is just not true.
@@sirbum1918 That is not the case anymore. A lot of EVs and chargers now have status updates when you navigate to them. For example, Tesla's navigation system tells you how many stalls are available, if any are inoperable, what the charge rate is, and what the current price is all from the screen in the car. A lot of other chargers are also like this as well now. And if you look up charger network maps, it is very easy to see just how many there are all across the country. Sure, they may not be as abundant as gas stations yet, but they are constantly expanding and adding new locations. Not to mention, if you are really in a bind, you can plug into literally any standard outlet. Or, if you have the time, you can also use a standard 240v outlet from a dryer in your home to charge faster. I live in South Florida and have family in North Carolina, and I make a trip once a month to visit. During this trip, I only need to make 4 stops, and I often pay more in tolls than I do in charging my car.

Fueling takes me 5 seconds a day and I save thousands a year but you do you.
Do you know that most EVs charge at home while they are sleeping and never visit a gas station? That means they save more time than you and don't have to pay as much as you do for gas.

Damn that’s crazy(hops in my gas car that takes less then 5 minutes to fill up
5 minutes a week is near 4.5 hours a year you spend pumping gas. Imagine, never spending another minute pumping gas and saving near 70% by charging at home. Also consider never doing an oil change, tune up, or fan belts... and getting 50% more time on a brake job.
The V2 chargers are all updated to give the car with the lowest state of charge priority. So if you pull up next to someone that’s at 80% SOC, and you’re at 10%, then the super charger will prioritize your car, giving you a much faster rate of charge than the old 50/50 split
So fuck the guy who was there first, right?
god damn commie superchargers
I don't even think that's really a software adjustment I think that's just the fact that a car that's up at 80% can't consume that much current so it just naturally goes to the lower car
@@matthewsantoro4441 That's is the magic behind V3 Supercharger too. 3 stall share one unit, most of time not all the cars consume 250 kw but if all car arrive low charge your speed will still reduce. So it is still good to spread out in V3.
@@asiaworldcity Is it three stalls? I thought V3 actually shares four stalls that's capable of one megawatt.
I'm also hoping after the cyber truck launches they unlock some additional power with V3 by basically just introducing power sharing.
If it is three stalls or four stalls, whatever it is be able to get more power if there's fewer cars connected
For a second I thought you were talking about a real supercharger
As a disabled person and unemployed. I can't even afford a home let alone a tesla. Soooo I don't think I will ever have this problem.
Funny, I can use any gas pump I want whenever I want.
here's the thing, I have a truck and a Tesla. it takes about as long to fill the truck as my car. the difference is I very seldom need a supercharger as my car charges when im home, the truck NEEDS that gas station.
You NEED to stop, I don’t, I charge at home and don’t need to stop anywhere.
@@ProXcaliber I can also hire someone to go pump my gas. It’s the same thing. The only difference is I’m not constrained to specialized locations and be forced to stop at when I travel. It takes me 8 minutes on average to stop pump and go. I get 600+ miles in my diesel SUV. So on a 600 mile road trip it is the EV that NEEDS to stop not me.
@@ERROLS_AUTOWERKS Sure, but how often are you taking road trips for that to be a concern? And how much are you spending each time on those stops? Not to mention that diesel is often more expensive than even gasoline. You also say “specialized” locations, but there are a bunch of chargers all over the place, not to mention you can plug into basically any standard outlet too if you need to in an emergency. I make regular trips between South Florida and North Carolina to visit family about once a month, and I only make about 4 stops in total. During that trip I tend to spend more on tolls than I do to charge my car also.
@@icedout2322 Here in the UK not everyone has a driveway you can just charge up on without dragging a charging cable over the pavement. I'll be sticking with petrol.
I’ll stick with my supercharged El Camino thank you. It takes a whole 3 minutes to fill up. And where I live the pump doesn’t slow down when I’m filling up my tank.
The problem with a Tesla is that recharging will never be as fast or portable as gas. Gas just takes putting that liquid inside the car and you are done. You can even carry extra gas with you so you can refill in a minute if need be. So that's a point they might want to look into fixing.
The Tesla hate is hilarious. You charge at home during the night for $3. That gets you 300+ miles. I don’t think any of you guys drive that much in a day. Just mad about pointless things that would most likely never happen to you. But yeah if you guys validate dropping 80 bucks on gas to save time go for it.
Plus you guys act like EVs should be super efficient when they are still kinda new to the car market. How many mpg does a car from the 80s get? It takes time for things to get more efficient. Grow up
Yeah we all know this. Though, as time goes on there will be more EV vehicles on the roads and at the charging stations, then you are Sh#t out of luck if you need to get charged.
