Mandy Roy Thanks! One of my secrets to keeping my art inexpensive is painting or decoupaging over "used" canvases. I can find really good deals in the clearance section of home décor stores.

love it! what brand of spray paint did you use?
Brilliant! I had never thought of using glue as a painting ingredient. I have some old canvasses that have failed oil paintings on them. Could I use this over them? I wasn't sure as I have always been taught that you can't use Acrylic over oil as it will crack in time, it's ok to use it under it but not on top. Do you have any idea?

If you peeled it up at ends a little then put glue from canvas to glue to hold it out a little it looks more 3d

LOVE THIS .. but am wondering if acrylic paint will stick to the dried glue ... I have metallic acrylic paint .... will that work?
Heather Riche Thicker acrylics should work ok, but thinner ones would probably take a few coats if they will even adhere to the glue at all. Some type of plastic primer would help.

+Amy Pearce (Her Art from the Attic) just yesterday I bought 3 canvases, drew some birds and branches with leaves on it. traced over it with hot glue then painted the picture over top of it :) the paint stuck just fine but yes, it does have to be a thicker acrylic!

Purse Express she used a stretch canvas. But yes you could use cardboard.
