    Tank straps, bcd check, reg check, are all things each diver should be doing for themselves. Buddy weights and gear releases are a quick visual check.

    Weigh belt tails shouldn't be longer than 8 inches past release buckle.

    Very good, simple and conseist. My only concern is that you should never open valves to the stop, always back it off a little bit. So, fully open, back a quarter of a turn. If its on the stops, and we dive, it could get stuck in the open position.

      GUESS WHAT ! these days they do not want you to do a 1/4 turn back !
      I have been doing it for the last 43 years and never ever had a problem .

      @@diverdave4056 Really? Why don't they want that 1/4 turn back? Admittedly its been a while since I've dived but that got ingrained into me.

    You forgot multiple things which are importand when checking the bcd use the inflator with the mouth aswel.
    With checking the mouthpice smell the air first when checking the air both should use first and secondaire mouthpice from one set to check
    Ps thats how i am learning the divemaster course

      shouldnt you also sniff each others arm pits to make sure the water wont be polluted?
