I made steak tips and gravy over egg noodles last Monday😊 So comforting. We don't do stuffing in the south. Dressing is our go to with that lovely plop if cranberry sauce and gravy.
I lived down the street from Cole's Bread for ten yesrs. They had semi tankers bring in garlic butter and pump it into the building. I remember my dog getting really excited in to car on the way to the beach when he smelled the bread being baked!! It was as heaven!!
Absolutely MUST have cranberry sauce with turkey dinner! There's a few times I've used a large spoon of strawberry or raspberry jam as a substitute if there wasn't cranberry sauce.
I use fresh cranberries, oranges, pulse in the quisinart, put into a bowl add sugar and cinnamon and cloves, mix well and then add some vodka! No cooking needed, best if made ahead.
Yes, these were some of the holiday favorites during the 1970’s. However, we still eat some of them today. Thanks for sharing and bringing back the wonderful memories of my mom and grandma cooking in the kitchen.
I'd rather have cranberry relish. Glazed carrots are a side dish. Pommes de Terre au gratin are nothing more than scalloped potatoes that went to France and came back putting on airs
Whats your favorite christmas meal?
Beef tongue slices,
vinagreitte & salad
(we get Xmas in the
summer)

I do turkey, cranberry salsa and sauce for Thanksgiving. For Christmas it’s slow roasted goose, red cabbage and potato dumplings.
I have so many memories of the food at Christmas, as I bet we all do. It was a time for special dishes and rich, wonderful desserts. Yummy!

At age 75 l can tell you people eat about the same foods now.
I'm 72 & I agree!

I love cranberry sauce.More than the turkey iit self.yum
All this food is making me hungry 😄💯
Both are beautiful children
All I do is open up a can of Ocean Spray and hear that famous plop in my serving dish, and I'm done, lol.
I am the only one in my immediate and extended family that eats cranberry sauce 🤔

Usually had lots of homemade cookies at Christmas. Ham for Christmas dinner, no turkey, that was usually just for Thanksgiving.
Love Turkey and candy yams

My oldest son likes to make whole berry cranberry sauce, unless it's his duty rotation on the paramedic intercept vehicle.
