I first saw the show in 1986, and fell in love with it. Back when it had a heart and a soul.
I met Stephanie Lawrence (the original Pearl) when she played the lead in the tour of "Blood Brothers" that played at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, in Toronto, Canada.
She was lovely, and so grateful when I told her that she would always be Pearl to me. She was so talented and beautiful, and gone much too soon.

Just starting this, but... hang on! That news footage at the start, the clip of AC/DC is off the album isn't it! How did they already have the album the day after opening night of perviews? Was it really produced before the show even opened? That's interesting, right?

I didn't know that! How fab!
We're definitely planning a couple more, you'd be more than welcome to join us for them. We did advertise in the Facebook group West end wendys not many folks responded though, well not as many as expected. Hopefully with this video it might encourage others to step forward.

I don't have facebook as it is the work of the DIESEL himself (: but I am in touch with Jill. I was a lowly dresser on the show until I started my own career. I feel very privileged; I'd honestly forgotten how good the show was.@@ladyjennyanytime5195

Loved seeing this...I used to work in the old Victorian lift when I was a kid and had a ball. I used to throw mini lift parties including a raffle. I remember the cast of A Chorus Line film coming to watch and Liza Minelli (she bought the cast a HUUUUGE Basket of ROLOS). So many fun times but I was like locked in this lift for 10 hrs on matinee days with no break.I remember Carole giving me a jacket potato from across the road as she was full and I was so hungry. I don't know how Ray made some of those cues, I would open the lift and see him whizz past screaming poppas name..Jeff Shankley had a right go at me one time because I wouldn't overload the lift, I didn't like him much but I looooved Beverley Kay, Debbie Wake (I remember her going up to audition for Dinah and she came back in the lift crying her eyes out and I was like Debbie what's wrong and she bawled out ' I got Dinah!' Stefan Parry (excuse spelling if wrong) was so funny. Lucy and Nick the dressers were lovely. Tom Joe scared the absolutely crap out of me and was sometimes lovely and sometimes really vicious but what a performer!! I bribed the stage door keeper twice to let me stay overnight and skate round the track so I stayed after work twice with my walkman and went round the set all night and I don't regret it for a second, it was really spooky in the middle of the night tho. Great memories. This was lovely!

Would you Mind if I used the pic of Paul Reeves. His sister Claire used to be in Bath light operatic company with me and I'm sure she would love to get this for Christmas. Sad loss.
