I love that store! My aunt brought me there when I was visiting her in Murfreesboro. She loves to go antiquing and junktiquing and never makes me feel like I have to hurry. That’s a lovely antique mall. I left behind some candlesticks on that same white wooden étagère that you were browsing, and I could kick myself but…oh well. I did take home a couple of nice teacup sets. I need to get back there soon but I’ll wait until it warms up just a little. Love your videos, Lady Mary Beth. It’s always fun browsing with you. ❤

Delighted to meet you! I went back twice after filming. Discovered even more treasures, including a $16.80 Waterford pitcher.
That Royal Worcester plate with the sterling silver surround has a star of david in the center. No doubt, it was used for something ceremonial for either a Jewish holiday or for Shabbat.
Good eye! Makes me wonder if the "Portia" was designed as a Judaica pattern. I researched, but did not find this referenced. Such a beauty!

You can see online the 6 ft memorial for my great grandmother in Rosa Abraham Platz in the village of Worpswede. It's where my father was raised. Lucky you to live nearby. I would go weekly! Will be back in town later in April and plan to visit the shop again.
Absolutely love the visit to the Franklin antique store, my granddaughter works in Franklin but for me in north Mississippi it's a 4 hour drive. So many wonderful treasures, loved the marble top tables, I can see pretty tea cups and tea pot for afternoon tea. I'll have to put a visit there on my list of to do's before retirement this year to Florida. Take care until next time.

Lenox Moonspun! That's my 1970 wedding china. Lenox sold coordinating Moonspun crystal as well but I didn't like it, so I picked out the Lenox Montclair crystal. I didn't get enough for a service for 8 back then and I never completed it until I came across water goblets AND wine glasses at a charity store about 3 or 4 years ago. Couldn't believe it
You made a great bridal selection. Love this pattern! Thought about purchasing, and then it sold while I was still filming.

You are correct! Houston is the #1 city in Texas for thrifting. Stay tuned for a new project I will announce soon.
Do you know why I think that is? Because in the recent past those wonderful Texas women purchased a lot of grand things- my family was one of them being born in San Antonio. The overall feel there was to shoot for the stars having big homes filled with a lot of beautiful things. Sadly, all these items have ended up in thrift stores as their kids have come into the scene and the former generations are passing on- it’s less and less ‘popular’ to strive for ‘big’ and high end items as well as the economy is terrible- ie tiny homes, ikea, etc. I believe the supply chain will eventually become less and less. 🤷♀️ Maybe not- just a thought.

Franklin Antique Mall truly is a hidden gem. I am always amazed at the prices and selection. I often have regrets of not purchasing when I see it, even while there filming. The Lenox sold FAST!

Love the table setting! What a great idea using a grass green tablecloth and the salt cellars with jelly beans to hold place cards. Clever and creative!! I would have bought that green pottery flower frog with the bird❤. Beautiful

I too have family in the Nashville area. We went there a couple weeks after this video was shown. I was so in love with those marble top tables. Thank you, lady Marybeth for showing them! I ended up getting three, including the one that you suggested putting a punch bowl on. Then there were two tables that were marble top with Harp detailing on the base. Stunning! I also got the Waterford single candleholder. At $10 I could not resist. Franklin antique mall is so much fun to go to. Can’t wait for your next video from there.

Waterford candle holders, matching or singles! I put luminara remote controlled candles in them and it just makes tabletop for sure!

Fantastic shopping in Tennessee- is there a location comparable in Houston?
Houston has some great shops, too. I would suggest Antique Gallery of Houston, The Guild Shop, Blue Bird Circle, and Charity Guild Shop. Shop online at Stillgoode Consignment for local pick-up.

Lovely things, especially the crystal. I saw some of my Meadowbrook pattern in the silver plate. My mother uses her silver plate for everyday and I may do it myself. What’s wrong with feeling special every day? Always enjoy your videos. I’m learning how to pick out crystal & nicer glassware when I go thrifting.

The artist signature and date is not necessarily personalization, most of the times these were part of specific signing events at high end department stores where the artists would sign their name and date at that particular event and people would bring their waterford pieces to be signed, or buy new at the department store.. In the early days the pieces were signed where ever the artist wanted. In latter years they were signed on the bottom. These events started in the 1980's through the 90's and many pieces are signed exactly like that with the date of the event. You can even look up the date and usually find where a signing event took place. It does not necessarily deter from the price, since most collectors with signed pieces from those events are familiar with this. If the piece is not signed and has a date, that's a good indication it was personalized.
I managed many artisan events in my years with Waterford Crystal. A signed piece adds interest and does not deter from the value. The date on these napkin rings seemed personal, with a month and year. Either way, a beautiful addition.

I’ve wondered that also. I drop things all the time! I wouldn’t trust myself to pick up all the pretties at these wonderful stores! 😊
The only casualty so far in filming has been my cell phone screen. My Waterford days helped with a strong grip on large, heavy crystal. Fingers crossed that the china, crystal, and silver stay safe in my hands.
