What album should I listen to after we finish "Physical Graffiti"? I am game for whatever..... these guys are an enigmatic monolith. So many layers to pull back but the bottom line is they are just... the best at what they do.
Go down the Presence rabbit hole. BTW, In My Time... is one of my favorites from this album. Such a great recording of Bonzo's drums. That's all I'll say.
@@dadmateryn8092 Get your ears checked. John Bohnam coughs Robert sings it then Bohnam says that might be the one and Eddie Kramer says come have a listen. It’s not a first take,it’s a great recording but not the first attempt
@ “They recorded This Live”? All songs are recorded “Live” but all your trying to achieve on the initial take is a solid drum track and bass and guitars and vocals and any other instruments are added later, for example “Ten Years Gone” has from what I can hear 12 separate guitar tracks some are doubled for heavy sounds but you get my point. I literally grew up in recording studios and know the process well atleast when studios were running analog tape I knew a few things but today’s digital recordings can’t capture the natural ambience of acoustic drums, the recordings sound lifeless unlike the thunder Bohnam lays down on this track!
@ In My Time Of Dying was originally recorded in 1928 by Blind Willie Johnson. It is a Gospel based on Psalms 41:3. Nothing in the song mentions anything about cheese. Sorry Satan.
TRAMPLED UNDERFOO !!! 😮! Lee, you've GOT to react to it, even if you think you may have heard it before. Just like with this one, sitting there and engaging with it, but it is a tour de force and there is so much packed in there to take in. It's so fucking good. Huge fan favorite.
It can't be done better than this, in my book. I've love LZ, every member among the best ever. Always memories attached to all the songs they did. Great track, wonderful reaction. L33, wow! Blessings and joy to to all.
The apartment building is in the St. marks section of Manhattan. And is still there. Apparently it's also on a Stones album cover as well. You should check out the live version of this song and trampled Underfoot from Earls Court in 1975. Fire!!!!
I loved this album when I got it home and tossed(gently placed) it on the turntable when it came out. I can't thank enough all y'all that are sharing music, thoughts, awareness and insights today. It's truly sustaining, rejuvenating. Who are these fellas again? They're pretty darn good, doncha think? Blues ++ . They certainly do it justice, then dirty, then with love in their hearts and a laugh on their lips. 🖖🏼😊🎶❤️🍁❤️🎄🥃✨️🕊
Yes! We finally got here. Every reaction host I have viewed have loved this track. "Jamel aka Jamal" did one of my favorite reviews of it. I know you will love this. Looking forward to watching.. Rock on Lee!
This live at Earls Court is absolutely amazing, I love they May 25,1975, over the May 24th version. The May 25th is better visuals & Page really kills the slide guitar. This studio is great, but the live is even better. The May 25th is Andriu1962, even if you don’t do it here, watch it on your own. It’s one of my two favorite lives, the other is Since I’ve Been Loving You MSG (1973).
Believe it or not, I heard one reactor whine it was to long, my thought WTF! The live I mentioned, is 12 minutes & 24 seconds, because Plant adds to his vocals & makes it even better.
In high school I used to crank the shit out of this track!. Once I figured out the drum part(kind of) I thought I could really play it.....nnnnope!. My foot gave out real fast!. One thing to notice on this track is, how hard Bonham was playing. The drums were recorded with room mics only. Close miking doesn't always give a good sense of how hard drums are being hit. But room mics really let you know what's up. He was a real brick layer!. This track always felt like they were really bashing it out live!
I found it amazing that here's a band that put out 6 albums in 6 years, and the 6th album is every bit as awesome and creative as the first, if not better. There are several bands who have stood the test of time, and put out many albums in their career, but it's difficult to think of any with this much success on every single album. The Beatles are about all that come to mind off the top of my head.
Lee, maybe the word “purgatory”. Try LZIII a short song called “Out on the Tiles”. You might have done “Celebration Day”. Not sure. Led Zeppelin is an enigmatic episode in the development of “pop music”. I think they moved the envelope. Curiously, there was a revolt in the late ‘70s. Zep was the poster figger for dinosaur rock. Old and clumsy. Enter bands like Gang of Four, who took a cleaver to that style. Costello and the Attractions took a cleaver to it. At best, the music was distilling the same crunch without the farm-raised fat. Maybe try, if you have interest, Gang of Four’s “It’s Not Made by Great Men”, or the immaculate “Love Like Anthrax”. (Fast Records Single version, if possible.) Costello? Tons. “Lipstick Vogue”? You got this, brother. Love your vids. Feel like I can read your thoughts sometimes. Sorry for not Patrion. Strapped. ✌️
Bob Dylan also has a great acoustic version of it from an early album. Even if you don't react to it, I hope you check it out. It really sticks in your head.
This is what happened when a band was properly recorded, without undue compression, to analog tape. Yes, I am 68 years old, and biased, but I can't hear progress in current recordings. You can easily hear THE ROOM in which they recorded! The cymbals aren't buried under saturated vocals and instruments.
Oddly enough, we were discussing this in the chat somewhere just the other day. If you check out a song by John Sebastian on his The four of us album titled, " Well, well, well " it's the same song, and it's credited to John Sebastian although I think it might be an older tune from somewhere. And I think it's before PG was made.
Great show on Netflix called Mind hunters used this song in one of the better episodes. Takes place in a 70s hospital. This song really adds to the disturbing atmosphere of the show. Give it watch L33.
OMG **L33** i swear ya can STILL do songs even IF ya have heard them before just put a dif title on the video like **Review** instead of 1st time reaction i am sure **Led Zeppelin Fans** are NOT going to mind at all
Great reaction. Please do react to Trampled Underfoot if you think you may not have heard it before. It is great too and it would be a shame to miss it!
If you'd like to have your mind blown a second time by the same song, check out Jimmy Page and the Black Crows, Live at the Greek. In fact, the whole album is intensely great.
What album should I listen to after we finish "Physical Graffiti"? I am game for whatever..... these guys are an enigmatic monolith. So many layers to pull back but the bottom line is they are just... the best at what they do.

All Albums: I, II, III, untitled (IV), Houses of the Holy, Presence etc.
I really like the Presence album.
Led Zep II is good foundation if you have not heard it all yet. In Through The Out Door is a bit divisive but it is a masterpiece
"House Of The Holy" is one of my top Zep albums 😎
There’s not one bad song on this album. One of the best albums in rock history
"Physical Grafitti" is a masterpiece album, every song is absolutely extraordinary!!! Good reaction! "In My Time Of Dying" is a Masterpiece!
THAT is how you combine trippy blues and hard rock. A lesson for all. Masterpiece.
Damn, this song just kicks ass. Love it more every time I listen to it.
So many boomers have this played at their funerals. Go out rockin!! ❤😂
im doing ELPs "Lucky Man"
@ripvanwinkle2002 that's a great song. 💙
The only generation left that saw the original lineup live lol..

My favorite track on the album. There's a great live version from Earls Court, 1975.
1975 earls court live version will blow you away❤
Zep was the perfect storm of talent who came to be at just the right time. Thanks Lee.
This whole album is pure magic!
Yes sir. Bonham is thunderous ! Good call
They left the cough in to show they recorded this live one take. Pretty amazing!

He is saying “Oh my Jesus” 😎
Nah, he's clearly saying "oh my cheese, yeah" definitely a song about Plant's love of the aged curd.

Homage du fromage.
Funny how I went from not wanting to hear them to being a fan
Great music will do that
I believe JPJ used a fretless bass to match Jimmy's slide guitar.
This song is awesome, one of my fave Zep songs and Bonzo's work is fire 🔥🥁
The first album I picked up after that bizarre implosion of them Beatles was Physical Graffiti and I loved it Lee ! 🌈🌟🤡

He needs to also watch the live version from 1975 Earl’s Court. 🔥
Great song.
The drums! Wow! Everything was on point. What a song. 😊
My FAVORITE song on this side 💓😍 LZ forever ♾️
ZEPPELIN RULES! Awesome reaction Lee!
Led Zeppelin do the blues so much justice, they’re playing for one, but Plant’s vocals puts the real soul into it.
One of his besst songs...¡¡What a passion!.... And Bonzo at the end.....! Cof...Cof-....
It’s just a masterpiece from start to finish ❤️
This is my favorite LZ record.
It can't be done better than this, in my book. I've love LZ, every member among the best ever. Always memories attached to all the songs they did. Great track, wonderful reaction. L33, wow! Blessings and joy to to all.
The hi-hat. Yes. At the end he says "that's gonna be the one, ask me."
Hi-hat on Misty Mountain Hop too. Thanks man. Great reaction. ✌️
Yet another fantastic LZ track to add to the list. It just goes on.
Perfect song title since the kick on this track will dissolve all of your cartilage and leave your bones in a heap on the floor.

Led Zeppelin 1
Great song! Next, check out “Celebration Day,” “Out on the Tiles,” and “Friends.” All of these can be found on LZ III. ✌️
A flat out masterpiece
this was played live in the studio!
Thanks for more Led Zeppelin 😊
This is amazing to watch live.
Oh my cheeses.

If Thunder and lightning was musical it would sound like John Bonham
Excellent tune!
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
Incredible song by a legendary band.
Trampled Under Foot is fire!!
Awesome song!!
This version is much better than the live version. Drums sound better and Robert’s voice sounds better.
Your mom knows what's good. 😊❤
Always been my Favorite track on the album. Psychical Graffiti has always been my favorite album by them. Keep it going
best Led Zep track? the one you are listening to.
The Mighty Zep
MONSTER of a track! nobody else could do what bonham did here, they just couldnt get the MASSIVE sound
Bombast!
This album is pure excellence. I'm let down we can't hear side 2 with you. But, I get it. Side 3 will blow you away.
The Brits listened to our rock and blues and took it all to another level.
Great review of one of their most awesome songs.
Always been one of my favorite LZ songs!
My fave from Zep. Amazing.
Jimmy Pages finest slide work… yum!
Underlying Bonzo’s drumming and Jimmys slide guitar was JPJs driving bass holding it down

Dylan's version, from his first album in 1962 would be a cool comparison. This version is great of course
One of the best on Physical Graffiti. Side 2 looks really good.

That cough at the end and the engineer's comment about coming to listen to it just shows that they did this live in the srudio in one take.
Epic. Sure doesn’t sound like church music in their hands.
Yes, what a silly little band. They will probably fly like a Lead Zeppelin.
Hope they get big someday. 😂❤
Watch the live version at Earl's Court 1975. Outstanding.
Bonham must of had his drum heads replaced after this one.
You need to see the live version of this one and watch Page set the guitar on fire with his playing!
"I only wanted to have some fun."

"Oh My Jesus" "Oh My Jesus" "Oh My Jesus"......"It's Gotta To Be My Jesus"...."Oh Take Me Home"
