- In this video, Kirstin shows her method of training new llamas, of all ages. This includes lead training, trust training, and how to begin teaching the ground work of using verbal and physical cues. This training introduces Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas up and coming studs. 10 boys and are all 2 years old.

Missed your videos glad you are back. Was so happy that Beau doing good. Kristin, you are such an inspiration, taking care of a family a business like the one you and Beau have, but even more to be able to keep going with something as devastating as your husband with cancer. I continue to pray for your family just stay strong.
Blue eyed llamas are pretty, but llamas with one blue eye and one brown eye are very pretty and unique!
Our family loves watching your videos. Glad to see that Beau is feeling better, love watching him use the llamas with Randy Newberg.
Alpacas are so cute..they look like smaller version of Lamas...like soft toys roaming around..I visited an Alpaca Farm recently in Colorado, US...it was a great experience....made a video too....can't forget that day...watching the videos itself now makes me feel so happy :) Regards!

Thanks for sharing! How did you catch and halter them if they had little training? Whenever I somehow manage to put the halter and lead on my 3yo, he bucks and jumps and fights me so hard that it gives me rope burn or I get scared he will break his neck (and he's so much strong than I am). I adopted him and a 6yo female from a farm where they were really never halter trained or handled except to shear/give meds (the former owner told me to grab the base of the ear and that's how they immobilized their llamas for treatment). My biggest obstacle right now is just to even get the halter on without them breaking their necks!

Very interesting video! I am wondering since llamas have the same type of pupil in their eye as a horse, do they have the same type of vision also? I know a horse pointing straight ahead can see almost all the way back to their tail.
So many nice llamas, thanks for the training tips I tried them today on my two who are still a little hesitant on the lead, the boys did well 🦙🦙

This will be a great series. I went back and viewed the training baby llamas too. Quick question....do they kick as a defense mechanism? You dont seem to be very concerned with them kicking ya during the training.
i am getting 3 older llamas approx 5 years old not trained. i would like some advise on training them 2 females and 1 male. thank you

I would love some tips on how to deal with a llama that kicks! I have 2 girls that just turned 2. They had never been touch when I got them 5 months ago. They are both pretty good when it comes to walking and going over/through basic obstacles but my little female Penny absolutely hates me. I go slow, reward her appropriately, but even when I enter the pen with grain/hay she immediately pins her ears, flicks her tail, and wants nothing to do with me. It's so disheartening! Any advice or insight? Even a video you've done previously that maybe I overlooked? Thanks so much in advance! Kind regards, Laura
But how do you get them in the halter in the first place? How do I even catch them to do it?
