Once again, you are always thinking ahead. Great job! The haters frequently claim you can’t be profitable going the extra mile. Customers that appreciate the quality of your work will see the value you add. They will not hesitate to compensate you accordingly.
This is great but.... I Replaced my front door and patio door. No seal pans of any type under either. We average about 55" of rain a year. They survived rain blown by 90 mph steady wind with higher gusts from Rita. It survived 65 mph and higher gusts from Ike and it survived 3 days of constant rain varying from heavy to light during Harvey. And I mean it never stopped raining for 72 hours. No rot of the plates or studs around the doors.
Bad idea to use that piece of 2x4 as a leveling guide. Everytime you drag it back and forth it sands the bottom off and will be a few molecules shorter on the left….jk I luv your work🤭🤭🤭
You do great work, amazing actually. However, how many houses do you do a year? I wonder if your overall quality is actually losing money. There comes a point where you have to do good enough vs amazing. I hope you don't take is as a knock; it's a biz question.
Funny this guy is installing the door and millions watching will think he is taking a bunch of extra steps and spending extra money. So many products and techniques that will have service life of the door last for decades and decades and be watertight entire life span
Never cuts corners and does the cleanest work I’ve seen posted on TH-cam. Insane.

Appreciate that
Except for the corner of the flashing tape! For the cherry on top!
HausPlans is pretty solid too 👌
"Since I got my caulk out" 🤣 Amazing! And even better install.
Ha thanks

Lol, when or how can a customer appreciate any of that? I do, but the customer doesn't and won't pay the extra
Well said! You hit the nail on the head sir!
Get better clientele. Mine don’t ask what anything cost. They simply want me to build them the best forever home I can build.
Most impressed with the leveling of the slab with the grinder and laser, and proper overlap of waterproofing. Right on brother
Appreciated
I think it would work better if the the 2x4 was laid underneath the bricks at the end.
I'm blown away by every single video this guy puts out. When I become wealthy enough, I will hire him to build my dream home.
Thanks for the kind words
I’ve installed 1000s of doors and windows and this seems like a great product ☝🏼
I like them, very durable too
Got ur wat out sir 😮😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 good stuff as usual
😆
Listen I'm new to your videos an I must say your the real deal man
Thanks for watching
Looks good . This will be cherry when all done
🤌🏻
As I watch this sitting on my toilet with my caulk out good work
Haha

Dude, sick..
Appreciate the soft L on caulk lol.
Haha
Lmaooo that was smooth. I always leave my caulk out.
😉
My boy always has his caulk out 😂
😆
What brand is that 3 pc kit? Looks real nice. Appreciate you using the zip tape and rolling it 👍
JeldWen, yessir
I like using Jamsill sill pans.
nice flashing . That's where it rots..good job!
🤙🏻
I prefer copper pans, but nice work
The confused look on people's faces when I say "Q, F, and in an H!"
You can do flashing, and you can do caulk... But, for heaven's sake, don't go flashing your caulk!
😆
Put your sealant away! 🤣 🤣
😉
Put me in Coach! I got it!
Yessir
I prefer three conservative beads.
Haha
That is a neat laser, whats the power of that beam goddamn
I heard what you said. 😂 Dropping beads.
😉
Man that slab looked like glass, thanks for the tips
Thanks for watching
I thought you don’t flash concrete cuz the water can go right under that ? I’m just wondering and asking for me so I know
the sealant will block the water from intruding, so theoretically all the water can't come under the sill pan, or under the sides from the jam.
2x4 door on a 2x6 wall?
Ya, these are out swing French doors & I’ll use jamb extensions
Bad idea to use that piece of 2x4 as a leveling guide. Everytime you drag it back and forth it sands the bottom off and will be a few molecules shorter on the left….jk I luv your work🤭🤭🤭
😉
This video is a-door-able...... I'll see myself out...
Booo
😬
Man we use to do these out of chopper
OSI Quad Max 👍
Yessir
Urethane… better!
does he say “got it coach?”
Yup
@@w.k.d.constructionllc wasn’t sure if i was hearing that correctly. thanks for clearing that up

I do probably 1.5 a year. But I do 80% of my own work from start to finish on a new custom home. It’s all cost plus…so I never lose money.
Might want to get a neoprene roller for that tape bro....thats how it works best
Pretty sure he's using the zip roller, bro
Actually I don't know what tf he's using, but it does have the two handles so you can put some force on it.
It is, 1st gen roller
Hopefully, the flooring is thin. That's not working with hardwood
Sure it is
Don't forget to roll that tape
Hey coach. I think you left out a very important L! 😂
Got it coach! Ya know painters favorite motto: “when in doubt, get your cauk out!”
Why not just bend a solid flsahing pan out of aluminum? Faster, cheaper, easier.
Aluminum + moisture + concrete = not a good combo. On a wood framed floor would be a different situation.
@w.k.d.constructionllc but plastic will collect moisture just like aluminum would.
@@johnnyrocket9372 but it won’t rot like aluminum on concrete
@w.k.d.constructionllc thanks for the clarification
@@johnnyrocket9372 aluminum will definitely corrode on concrete due to the chemical reaction
Oh no your caulk is out 😂
😉
Uhmmmmm under that massive overhang, you must be protecting the outside from a water main break inside, that door will never see rain
😂 bru
It's what your feet bring in and snow if you get it.
You ever wash your house?
Funny this guy is installing the door and millions watching will think he is taking a bunch of extra steps and spending extra money. So many products and techniques that will have service life of the door last for decades and decades and be watertight entire life span
Yessir
Fire!!?
🤌🏻
Houses lasted way longer before any of this nonsense existed.
🙄
Liberal? You consider those beads to be liberal?
The sill plate is the only place I want liberal beads in my house
😂😂😂😂
You should be using a custom stainless steel door pan with welded end dams…. I give him a B+
Dont need that crap.
😆 okay there Bob Vila
@w.k.d.constructionllc not bob Vila smart-ass. Everyone is entitled to an opinion there opie
Since you have your what out ?
😬
Sounds like Diaz construction video
Why not copper pan???
I wouldn’t recommend that on concrete, but wood framed would be fine
