Great List! I'm almost 69 & love seeing young people digging the music of our era. I started playing drums in 1964, so I was way into music in general. The first LP I ever bought with my own money was "The Kink's - You Really Got Me" in 1964. I was 9 years old. As far as weird "semi-psych" albums go, I bought "The Mothers' - Freakout" in 1966 when I was 11. From then on, I was hooked on anything strange that most the kids weren't into or could care less about & it just snow-balled from there to this day. Anyway, I've watched a lot of your videos & you seem to have a great understanding of the psych era, so it's kinda hard for me to suggest something you may not have heard already, but here's one many miss. "Pulsar's - Pollen." Excellent French Prog & listen. Also early Hawkwind. Saw them live in 1974 with Lemmy, 3rd row dead center, tripping on Purple Haze in South Bend, Indiana. If you listen to their "1999 Party" LP recorded in Chicago that's pretty much the show I "kinda" saw. lol. It was a day before or after I saw them. Be well, pray for peace & happy vinyl hunting brother.
Thats awesome! I'm a drummer too! I have not heard Pulsar, thanks for the recommendation! Hawkwind would have been an amazing concert! Thanks for watching ✌☮

Great video. Great list! Love those 13th Floor Elevators albums. I was fortunate enough to see Roky on tour. He had big fans in the band Okkervil River and they were his backing band. They are an incredible band on their own. I have the Five Leaves Left on CD and have always been looking for a nice vinyl copy. Pink Moon as well. I'm new to the VC and came to your channel via Dillion at Noble Records. I posted my first video about 3 weeks ago. It was a response to his Summer Tag. I subbed your channel and look forward to your next video. Cheers. Bobby
Nice list, I love that there's so much UK stuff. Personally I never got into Supernatural Fairy Tales musically, but the cover is one of the best for sure! My highest wants are probably Maitreya Kali "Apache" and "Inca". And Mark Fry "Dreaming of Alice". Good luck diggin'

Also, my 13th floor is a stereo turquoise label so strictly speaking a 2nd press but for £50 off ebay in the mid 00s I'm not complaining. Got to say I'm with you on reissues. As you say for some lps (private press specifically) the only way to ever own it will be via a reissue. My top wants? Kaleidoscope 1st and July, which has been the case since I heard them in the early 90s. Cheers Nige

I own a French copy of Khan's Space Shanty on the Kingdom label as well as the 1978 American pressing on PVC. The French copy I own I'm most proud of as it's very rare and only saw one copy on sale on Discogs at the time of purchase. I bought it at a record fair in Eugene, Oregon. As for the American pressing, it's the first copy I ever owned. One other member of Khan was Nick Greenwood who played in the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and he's on the 1968 album with "Fire" on it. He also released a solo album as Nicholas Greenwood in 1972 on Kingdom called Cold Cuts but the originals are extremely rare and ridiculously expensive so no surprise I don't have that one (I'll have to settle for a reissue).

@@sorinvinyl1523This is why some crate diggers go through thousands of trash thrift store/garage sale albums. You never know and I'm guilty of not having patience to go through the mouldy, stinky records. I confess that I also have passed on some rare stuff for being too stingy on the cheap price. I've been told by the pros to ALWAYS TAKE A CHANCE WITH UNKNOWN , CHEAPLY PRICED STUFF.
Just wanted to get your opinion on receiving records that you have won on eBay; I am finding that eBay is becoming a “dumping ground” for substandard material across the board. This month (October) alone, I have returned three of the last five albums that I have received from eBay for being over-graded or misrepresented. Walter
I think most of the time, records on Ebay are graded wrong. I usually do well, but I am also super conscious about buying online. I don't really return many records ever, but I've gotten a few refunds. Its pretty hit or miss. I usually ony buy if its listed for around 50% of what it goes for.
Good luck finding an original Pink Moon..I've never seen one or Bryter Layter..my local shop had a copy of Five Leaves Left a couple of years ago..UK ist press (1969)..he wanted £500 for it...er, no!.. My top grail is Bright Phoebus by Lal and Mike Waterson (1972) British folk artists..originals are super rare as half the original pressings were defective and dumped..it was reissued in 2017 but was soon deleted due to a dispute with the copyright owners..if you like UK folk from the late 60s early 70s you should give it a listen if you don't already know it.
Yeah I'm gonna need all the luck I can get on that one haha. Prices on UK Nick Drake stuff is really crazy! I have never heard Bright Phoebus. Sounds like something I'll like. Thanks for the recommendation! ✌☮
I, too, almost bought an original Canadian pressing of Art "Supernatural fairy tales" months ago. I decided against it after reading on Discogs that the Canadian pressing is in reprocessed stereo.
I was looking on eBay one Saturday afternoon and came across an auction for a “Nike Drake LP” and in the description all it said was “Nike Drake LP” - that’s how it was spelled. I sent the seller a message asking for the description but it was ending in about 45 minutes so i didn’t hear back from him until the next morning (after I bought it). It turns out he doesn’t sell records with any scratches so I was able to pick up Nick Drake's “Bryter Layter” U.S. (pressing plant?) on Antilles for $9.99 plus tax and shipping; so about $16 for a NM Nick Drake record - best eBay find for me. Art “Supernatural Fairy Tales” is in my top five wants and “Introspetion” by the End is my #1 psych album and I’d love to find an original U.K. or U.S.
Wow that is really amazing! Ebay can be great sometimes! I've had a couple of great deals from non record collectors on ebay. I guess I won't either. Maybe it'll be in the sountrack section next time
@@sorinvinyl1523This is why some crate diggers go through thousands of trash thrift store/garage sale albums.
Nick Drake early 2000 JJapan 200 gram pressings are amazing
I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for watching ✌☮
@@sorinvinyl1523 good rule of thumb to go by! Thanks for your reply on that, Sorin. Walter
That was definitely one of the reasons I held off. They never made a real stereo mix if I remember correctly. ✌☮
Its very noisy in the background, its like a jumbojet waiting for take off, sorry😉😉
Well I filmed it inside a jumbo jet, so that might be the issue 🤷♂️
I got a sealed copy of Wake Up Its Tomorrow by Strawberry Alarm Clock for $30! I have a copy of Introspection and it is one of my favorite albums in my collection! Thanks for watching ✌☮
Great list man !. Sea Shanties is so awesome. My list would probably have original pressings of Big Star's albums. A friend of mine got an original copy of Bull Of The Woods as a gift and i'm so jealous haha. So expensive like all the 13th Floor stuff.
Agreed! Would be amazing to get some big star! Wow Bull of The Woods as a gift is pretty amazing! Elevators stuff is insanely collectable! Thanks for watching ✌☮
