    Personally I think you were asking a bit much for the tiny chainsaw to cut through a log like that. They are really designed for small branches and pruning. Maybe one with a brushless motor would have been better but still I would have used a petrol chainsaw or even a mains powered chainsaw through that size log.

    That saw is only for pruning tiny branches not for even small logs. The 12" brushless is great but i feel like my brushless chain stretches too fast or the tensioner doesn't adjust out enough one because it got so the chain couldn't be tightened but was basically a new chain. Not sure if it's the fault of the chain or tensioner. Update!! I got a 44 drive link chain instead of the factory 45 drive link and it's a little bit harder to get on the first time but I think it'll leave the adjuster with plenty of room to use the chain up. So I believe I'll love the saw after all. Just remember falling trees is an art and dangerous. It's not anybody's game. One little mistake could easily be the last mistake you ever make. I'd rate falling trees on a danger scale of riding a crotch motorcycle 140 mph or so. There's a lot to pay attention to. My grandpa cut a small limb that was growing in a way it was under spring tension and got the saw kicked into his face. Lucky for him he wore huge thick glasses and it just split him open good instead of going through bone and all. I've seen a guy almost cut a felled tree that was stuck between the fork of another and he didn't study it and just went to work on it and I stopped him because as soon as he cut that part the other side would've rolled into him. He went to the other side to finish the cut and sure enough it plopped over right where he was standing. At about 20 inches wide it had a lot of weight.

      One thing I find with the battery chainsaw is that if the battery is inserted, it is technically on. But because I don’t hear an engine running like on a gas chainsaw, I forget and then pull the trigger and Bam I’m cut. Because they are not gas people sometimes think they are toys and they are certainly not.

    Wait. ARE YOU TELLING ME that larger, more powerful chainsaws exist for a reason?
    It's not garbage at all, you're just misunderstanding the purpose. Not everyone is felling large trees or making firewood. Many people just need something to do the occasional pruning or get rid of a limb that a storm took out. They're fine with it taking a few minutes longer, to be able to use the 18V batteries they already have.
    If you want to say a 60V $250 chainsaw is better, or a 50cc gas, of course it is, but you don't use a cannon to kill a mosquito.

  • @MrSGL21
    @MrSGL21 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    the problem here, with both tools, is the HP batteries. the little radio cuts off because it can't read the power level properly on the HP batts. I have this same radio and it works fine on the older non HP batts.I have run into this same cutting off only with the HP batts. As for the saw, the HP batteries will flow ALOT of current, alot more than the old batteries. the old batteries under that load, would have cut the power to the saw, acting like a fuse (to save themselves) and saved the saw. The HP batteries since they are engineered to flow alot of current, will keep feeding a brushed motor power until the motor burns up.

    • @ManCaverTools
