The dominant silverback will discriminate between higher and low ranking females with preference to the higher ranking ones. I do the same, it's in some males nature to eschew the low ranking ones. Silverbacks unite!

I believe that have Aii on contraceptive, which is wrong! In the wild, some females may abandoned a baby but then have another and nurture it.

because they would die. These gorillas were born and raised in captivity - it would be like releasing a child into the woods who never been there. Plus they could be poached, hunted, caught between a civil war and shot, poisoned by vegetation they know nothing about, ... Gorillas are like humans they don't have an instinct - survival in wild must be taught from birth.
