    IF YOU’RE INSTALLING THE CHECK VALVE READ THIS!!!
    In this original video I explained the check valve installation wrong, so that is why there is a section of the video is missing at 15:49
    The purpose of the check valve is to maintain vacuum in the booster & prevent boost pressure from reaching the brake vacuum booster. The engine (when running) creates vacuum & the check valve must allow air in that line to flow towards the engine to allow the brake booster to pull vacuum. The check valve is meant to prevent air from entering the brake booster, not to allow air to enter the booster.
    I explained this backwards in the original version of this video. I will correct this issue in episode 11 of the build series & explain it in depth. When episode 11 is uploaded, I will add a link to episode 11 at 15:49
    I apologize for any confusion, please respond to this comment if you have any questions.

    Heck yea, I have a turbo 8th gen aswell and just went thru all this last year. Start saving for a transmission friend. They’re glass once boosted.

    Heads up-when installing reusable hose end fittings, always blow out the hose prior to installing to remove any chaffs of hose rubber.

    Oh yeah, I found this out the hard way but you’ll want a check valve for evap line too. If you are boosting when the ecu opens the valve you will pressurize the fuel tank unless you put a check valve inline.

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you don’t run the factory purge valve & you run the hose directly to the intake, yes you are correct. I am just venting the line to atmosphere so I don’t need a check valve. 👍🏼

    The oil pressure switch is British thread. I am using the K Tuned fuel feed adapter and it is awesome and doesn’t leak, it’s also really easy to work with. I am running an oil pressure gauge, everything fits.

    To clarify for the check valve, Air is flowing towards the manifold and away from the booster? Im guessing the check valve allows air to inflate the booster via vacuum, then keeps the vacuum pressure within the booster?

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh my gosh thank god you commented this… I just realized I totally explained it wrong & installed the check valve backwards. You are 100% correct. The purpose of the check valve is to maintain vacuum in the booster & prevent boost pressure from reaching the brake booster. The engine (when running) creates vacuum & the check valve must allow air in that line to flow towards this engine to allow the brake booster to go under vacuum. The check valve is meant to prevent air from entering the brake booster, not to allow air to enter the booster. I can’t believe I explained that wrong & I might delete this video now that I realized I explained this backwards 🤦🏻 hopefully people come to the comment section & see this

      I will be removing that section of the video where I explained the check valve installation wrong. I will clarify all of this in episode 11 👍🏼. Thanks for your comment man! Wouldn’t have caught that without ya! 🙌🏼

      @@DanielKellert Lmao no need to delete anything, I was just a little confused since Im in the process of making a Brake Booster line at the moment and didnt take into account which way the valve was facing😅 Still love the content, thanks for the quick reply👍

    Thanks for your vid we need more and return line should be just an extra hose to the gas tank from the fuel rail

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Return line is just adding an extra line from the tank to the rail, but there is no return port on the stock plastic fuel hanger. You will need to modify the stock hanger or install an aftermarket hanger setup that has a port for a return line.

    Dang you are going to be driving in two fast cars here soon. I don’t drive the STI much but I daily my TL type S and I only did intake and exhaust because when I was driving my STI daily I got bored of it so it’s always nice to have two cars. At least you can swap cars here and there so you can miss one or the other.

      Well the sti gets parked for the winter every year so I’m just itching to get this thing running 😅

      @@DanielKellert hell yeah man and that’s nice that you don’t have to daily it as most drive all year. Mine stays parked most of the year but I know I mentioned it on the video but congrats on your new house and all that bro. I wanted to mention that I’m getting some roughness in cylinder 2 but only at idle after warmed up and sometimes it goes across all cylinders but a few counts. I just did a compression test on #2 it was 123psi but I’ve been watching your miss fire videos again. You fixed it before you parked it right?
