SnowRunner Developer Confirms The ATOM WILL Get Improvements: th-cam.com/video/PaFeBootZUI/w-d-xo.html *Since this video, the Atom has received 2 separate balance buffs. Those will go into effect when Season 13 drops making this vehicle very stable
I really wish they gave us an old Kamaz/Azov that is neither extra long nor extra short, rather just a classic 2 slot + potentially a crane truck that rivals the Tayga's and Vorons.
Nice review as always. I wish they haven't compromised on stability, I would be ok if it had less addons. Logically it don't make sense why this truck is any less stable than other Azovs. Although unique addons are welcome addition.
Good review of the new Azov 67096 "Atom" truck in Snowrunner. Thank you. Azov 67096 "Atom" truck is great, I play Snowrunner for almost 1000 hours and I am happy with this truck. Azov 67096 "Atom" can do many tough missions even with the basic engine, without upgrades, I tried it in mud, snow, rocks, ice, and it showed good efficiency. As a long time Snowrunner player, I recommend this truck to everyone.
You make a good point about it powercreeping the other trucks. That’s one thing that’s starting to worry me about some trucks is that some powercreep the absolute hell out of the older trucks. The Pacific’s have it rough. Big Kenny outclasses the P12 by a long shot and the P16 feels better but it still needs something else. Then the P512 is still strong but for 5 bucks you can get a bigger engine and a bigger fuel tank in the W990. Review’s good, still have no idea if I’ll buy the Atom or not.
P512 demolishes the W990 in offroad / mud performance to be fair. Otherwise i agree. Personally if the P12 got an engine roughly in line with the Kenny, i'd say thats enough to make it relevant. It already has a great addon selection. P16 is an odd one to fix. AWD is about all you can do to it. Addons don't make sense given its frame setup.
@@NProvince i mean just look at how they did with Tatra trucks, how all of them are missing low saddle + tatra phoenix missing crane + flatbed combo wich is in real live completely normal... same for the limited frame addons for T813 and the small scout 4x4 Tatra 805 "the Duck" wich has for some weird nonsence reason limited trailers only for the TRUCK trailers wich makes little to no SENCE given how small it is, it should be rather able to attach the SCOUT trailers instead of truck trailers... also the fact that they made the OFFROAD Gearboxes for all tatra trucks limited to about 30km/h is also stupid since normally they can go about 50-70km/h in real live no issue also lets not forget how they ARTIFICIALLY nerfed the Tatra 815-7 Force front Suspension, wich colapses under even little load wich makes you get constantly stuck like if the suspension was already damaged from the get go

Thanks for the review. Good job. For some reason it made me think of a Snowrunner challenge. Imagine having only 5 available vehicles to finish a region 100%. 1 offroad, 1 heavy, 1 heavy duty, 1 highway and 1 scout. It might be impossible in some regions, depending on the tasks. Take Yukon, for example, you would have to choose the CAT 770G as your 1 Heavy. Brutal!
Seeing how I'm slow and steady myself, the Atom is right up my alley. lol And I kinda like its slightly tippy nature to keep me on my toes. Thanks for all the hard work put into the review and god bless Nate!
I have JAT MSH III on it, felt like the stability was decent enough. In Drowned Lands after going through "The Ditch" (I assume I shouldn't need to explain which ditch) I ran up on the bank coming out of the other side and it leaned over pretty far before rolling. Went and brought the Tatarin and it flipped it back to it's wheels pretty easy. Even with a 2 slot trailer attached (I was doing the 5 wood planks mission) the Atom wasn't one of those trucks that just slid on it's side forever. Now the Tatarin WILL get any vehicle back to it's wheels, but you can still tell which vehicles are going to be a pain, especially with a trailer. So the fact the Atom recovered easily with a trailer leads me to believe the balance can't be all that bad on it. It may be tippy with the default offroad tires though. Personally I just love how the JAT III's look, I don't even think they are the best JAT tire performance wise, I believe the IV's are? But the JAT's are known for being stable.
I had a feeling this would be a great support truck when I saw that custom maintenance add-on this morning. I'll wait until this goes on some kind of sale to check it out. I am very excited to see you can hitch a trailer to that add on as well, as I assumed they wouldn't allow that.
to me the Zik 612 is the better buy but this one with the special repair / refuel combo feels like the best truck to use for mission where you need to refuel and repair trucks.
Stability has not been an issue with the jat mhs II tires, with its stock tires however it did feel tippy. My main issues with this truck is the lack of a spare tire as well as that the unique bed should be shortened so it can use the crane just as how the flatbed can use the crane. Beyond that the low and high saddle should be able to use a forward moved crane or the smaller fuel tank moved ahead of the saddle similar to how the kenworth has it. (All that aside though, if they instead just updated the existing azov 6 series I would have rather paid for that instead of this DLC)
@@NProvince Personally it feels to me that most the stability issues stem from the amount of chassis flex the truck has. (Which I like btw, I miss that from the precious games) Most of the other trucks are more rigid and I guess that does affect this. Btw, stats wise how do the unique tires for the atom compare to the JAT ones?
The most fuel-efficient trucks (excluding 1 slot) are: Kenworth W990 and Caterpillar CT681. Tested under load in medium terrain. I'm very curious about Atom testing. This seems like the perfect truck for Hard Mode.
So by the numbers if were being truthful, the CAT CT681 is efficient, but not the most sadly. Even though its engine is clocked in at 6.5 consumption in the files, It suffers a 20%-60% AWD penalty depending on gearbox options. The Kenworth W990 is 8.8 consumptuon in the file and doesnt suffer an AWD penalty, The Azov Atom has 8.2 and the advanced special gearbox has 0% AWD penalty so i believe it beats both of those. I've also stressed them with 45 degree heavy cargo and this backs up what the files suggest. Consumption is something I've been kinda obsessed with for the last 3 years.. which is odd lol. I hope this helps :)
@@NProvince I know how to calculate statistics ;) Numbers are just numbers. Ultimately, it all depends on whether he manages to cover most of the route in top gear, or whether it stops uphill or in the mud and will have to downshift... The CT681 has a lot of power and therefore burns less fuel, the W990 is now too powerful in my opinion after the recent changes. Even if you struggle uphill under load, it will still burn minimal amounts of fuel. One basic thing, I use a standard gearbox if I have enough power. Then the penalty for AWD is smaller. Additionally, the 5th gear is slower than the 4th in the off-road gearbox, which helps not to damage the truck in hardmode.
Stability seems decent with the JAT MHS tyres on. Did you notice any difference in balance when taking the roofrack off? I noticed a improvement when I did that on the Kenworth W990. Great videos by the way, been greatly enjoying them and they were very helpfull!
I would have been so nice to have medium logs with a crane on this since it have the space for it. The tippy nature of medium logs on an already tippy truck would make such an ability not feel overpowered or pay to win when you have the super stable Forester doing that job excellently already, but having more options for this combo would be nice I think.
Ya that’s true, however they have updated its center of mass twice on pts. There should be a video linked in the comments. The Azov atom now is a really stable vehicle from the changes coming to Season 13
Hi Nathan, its good truck and I from start put jat mhs4 tyres. I spot stability issues straight away :) In overall its nice truck. I hope they will fix his custom long bed for 4 slots. Its visible by side board its should be 4 slot :)
In the video I mentioned that the JATs are a good pick if you’re worried about balance. The JAT MHS tires all run very similar on a time trial tbh. You can check all those times on my JAT tire review. Truthfully I would pick ones you like to look at. I like the look of the JaT MHS 4
Man, now I'm really sad my PS4 died cause I'm actually impressed with the Atom. I thought for sure it'd be another super truck like the Femm...but its pretty balanced though! Personally, when i get into modding, IMO it needs the same weight as the 5319, minus 5k torque, 52" tires (for looks), log crane w/ log bunks ability and maybe slight more fuel burn. Could even do a 5-axle version leaving the 235k torque and a bit more repair points in the addon; maybe just 500.
Thats the problem with this game, players are far too willing to have their real life versions of said trucks gutted completely in order to maintain this false idiotic sense of balance, the prime example is gas tank size, a lot of these trucks dont have their proper tank size, most of them are cut in half outright, this game is meant to be a simulator, not cod..... Just realism tossed out the window, military trucks with 50 gallon tanks when they should have 100 or more....
I actually havent tipped this truck yet, a rarity for me lol. But I have only used it for its large fuel tank addon so i drive it slow, fully expecting it to tip. Its been a really nice companion for the Yar with radar trailer. Scouting new or missed locations is really handy with that combo.
I didnt find it unmanageable with its balance either, but i think normal players will find it truly unstable. However i linked a video explaining that they've buffed this trucks balance quite a bit in Season 13. When it releases in June those changes will take effect as well
@@NProvince I bought it recently so it might perform differently since your review. I'm not really new and I've certainly not played as much as you. That said, new players would likely struggle with any truck as did all of us when we were new lol. Like I said, it's a rarity for me not to tip a truck, and this one hasn't tipped on me yet. It likely will when I start using it for other purposes. As a tanker, it does just fine, in fact better than shorter trucks IMO. Maxed out everything, but using off-road gearbox is how I use 99% of my trucks. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, especially in snowruuner. Thanks for another great truck review and video in general. You're my favorite Tuber for SR content
It should be the same as my version on the current game. It will be implemented when Season 13 drops. I've compared the changes from the PTS and Live server. Its quite a change. I think there should be a link for the changes on a pinned comment on this video. I think you probably have a pretty high skill level if you arent having issues with it. Thats pretty wonderful actually. Yep, slow is smooth and smooth is fast. The old tortoise and the haire works great in SR. I appreciate those kind words my friend.
@@NProvince if there's changes to its stability in a negative sense, especially given my limited use case, I will certainly update my stance on it. But it's one of the best tankers I have used so far given it's speed with off-road gearbox. Compared to the Western Star TS is basically untippable lol (not saying much). I'm by no means a high skill level driver, and I'm not one for pushing trucks to their limits, but I know you do given your excellent reviews, so I will take that as a complement lol. I just don't have patience for getting trucks upright after tipping, having done so too many times. Thanks for the complement and more importantly, the awesome content. Best on the Tube IMO. Super thorough and straight to the point.
slow and steady wins the race. who would want speed as this game really hates going fast, risking that taking too much dmg or truck suddently deciding that ''no, i don't want to be on my wheels''.
I was sort of hoping it could "Camel back" some attachments when it uses a saddle [like paystar twinsteer] it has a huge amount of frame, and you can't use any of it when you have a saddle ;-; not even a mini crane
camel backing is just a really cool sort of feature and authentic, and I wish we saw it more in snowrunner (only instance so far is the paystar twinsteer, with the repair body and the saddle low)
As an azov trucks fan i bought it without looking, the only thing i am disappointed is the stability which has always been Great with azovs, hopefully the buff will solve that and make it more enjoyable for me, nice review
So the Ford CLTs engine actual by the code is a more efficient engine. THe Transtar is showing 7.0 consumption while the Ford CLT9000 is showing 5.0. Honestly I dont know if it would beat them or not. That would depend on the surface traveled Im guessing
Yes you can have the flatbed and crane as shown in the video. or shoulda been shown. Also check the comments. This truck is going to be buffed with better balance as of Season 13 :)
Good news! When Season13 comes out this truck has a massive balance buff. There should be a pinned comment showing a comment that the developer made me. Since then it’s received 2 balance buffs
Feels like a variety buy instead of dlc performance buy but thats fine with me. The more 3 dollar dlcs we buy, the more pull the devs get on creating us new content. I hope they continue more addon variety. A russian version of the log loader crane would be cool.
i just bougth it couse i like the aesthetics of the truck and the fuel/repair addon, looks sick to me, otherwise, sure is OP, but honestly if was just another vanilla azov with a different skin, would anyone buy it?? theres tons of op trucks today so, one more is not really a big issue, unlike when the game came out and the navistar was one of the strongest in the game but exclusive for a year to pre-sale buyers. 5/10 IMO, skip it if you want Like your videos Nate, kee´m coming :)
After playing Snowrunner for a few hundreds hours I re-installed Mudrunner again and added the Ageda Mod. Why has the older game much better physics? Compared to Mudrunner, Snowrunner feels like it is made out of plastic.
Ya those things are great for sure, but all those mean very little if you are inherently unstable and that increases with addons and cargo on the frame. I still believe it’s pretty strong so I agree as well
@@Don_Mag I think it depends. There are ways with both trucks to increase stability, but also the azovs slow nature allows the driver to predict upsetting moments better
Them just reusing the same sounds from the azovs is another major downside for a paid truck tbh.. At this point I just hope that a sequel to snowrunner will have better ingame sounds...!
I dislike the look of so much wasted space in the middle of longer trucks, like with the standard fuel tank and water tank, they leave so much dead space in the middle of the frame, I'd rather them not have those addons, at least with the big kenworth and international Paystar you can have a saddle and fuel or van body respectively
That was a question I had as well when this was first teased by the devs. I believe its just a side grade. Perhaps its betteer than it replacing the other Azovs totally
@@NProvince Look, I can understand the case of ZiKZ 612H. It is worse then ZiKZ 605R, but because 605R is hard to get in Amur, and 612H you can get from start, it worth it. But this one. I don't get it. It is not a licensed truck to buy it for collection. It is not better then Azov 73210 or in some cases even 64131, let alone other better trucks. Even paintjobs are not looking that much good. I really prefer they gave us a facelift for Step 310 SE variant from Expeditions. But it looks like they want to keep the games completely separate and never migrate any assets from one into another. They could easily put Colorado-Arizona desert assets into Snowrunner as well (and there already was a mod map like that), but looks like it is never going to happen.
Love the emphasis on the "welcome back *once again* on *another* SnowRunner truck review". Nate, my man, you seem to be tired of this endless p2w trucks stream lol...

i´ve flipped so many times trying to go quick, now i just set it to H or L+ and listen to some music until i get to my destination
I was sort of hoping it could "Camel back" some attachments when it uses a saddle [like paystar twinsteer] it has a huge amount of frame, and you can't use any of it when you have a saddle ;-; not even a mini crane
camel backing is just a really cool sort of feature and authentic, and I wish we saw it more in snowrunner
(only instance so far is the paystar twinsteer, with the repair body and the saddle low)
Ya that would be nice for sure
Makes for a great frontliner in areas without garages
Oh absolutely with its large tank and incredible fuel consumption
Thanks, nice vid
Glad you liked it!
As an azov trucks fan i bought it without looking, the only thing i am disappointed is the stability which has always been Great with azovs, hopefully the buff will solve that and make it more enjoyable for me, nice review
Buff is coming, nothing to fear. The pts has shown the buff and it’s been very favorable now. I think you’ll love it when season 13 hits
I wonder if it’s more efficient then the 4070A I made that truck go thru all maps on Michigan and back to Smithville dam on one Tank of fuel
So the Ford CLTs engine actual by the code is a more efficient engine. THe Transtar is showing 7.0 consumption while the Ford CLT9000 is showing 5.0. Honestly I dont know if it would beat them or not. That would depend on the surface traveled Im guessing
it it possible to have the long flatbed and the IM50 loading crane together?
Yes you can have the flatbed and crane as shown in the video. or shoulda been shown. Also check the comments. This truck is going to be buffed with better balance as of Season 13 :)
@@NProvince thanks for the info, it'll make a good addition to my fleet.
Even with Jats it feels really tippy. I’m not the best driver but in one short run while going slow I had to quick winch 6 times to prevent rollover.
Good news! When Season13 comes out this truck has a massive balance buff. There should be a pinned comment showing a comment that the developer made me. Since then it’s received 2 balance buffs
@@NProvince Oh rip because the last time I drove it was today and I still couldn’t keep it upright😅.
PRO : new Azov.
Feels like a variety buy instead of dlc performance buy but thats fine with me. The more 3 dollar dlcs we buy, the more pull the devs get on creating us new content.
I hope they continue more addon variety. A russian version of the log loader crane would be cool.
I'll take side grade DLCs as well opposed to step ups with every DLC
Nathan, where do you search for the collision models, etc...? I can't ever find it anywhere....
You really cant search them, Its a complicated process. basically I get them from a friend
@@NProvince oh I see, alright, thanks anyway, especially for such compressed and wuality overwiev! 🧡
the atom reminds me of the E-7429 from mudrunner it similiar
not really
The stability will be improved in phase 13
Indeed the developer responded with a message from me and I did look at the truck on the PTS. It’s definitely much better
i just bougth it couse i like the aesthetics of the truck and the fuel/repair addon, looks sick to me, otherwise, sure is OP, but honestly if was just another vanilla azov with a different skin, would anyone buy it?? theres tons of op trucks today so, one more is not really a big issue, unlike when the game came out and the navistar was one of the strongest in the game but exclusive for a year to pre-sale buyers.
5/10 IMO, skip it if you want
Like your videos Nate, kee´m coming :)
Appreciate those thoughts. Thank you!!
Couldn't believe this bad boy had 4 slots. My twinsteer was getting tired 😂
Only 3 slots
@@NProvince oh I'm an idiot. I just unlocked the FEMM and bought the Atom around the same time
After playing Snowrunner for a few hundreds hours I re-installed Mudrunner again and added the Ageda Mod. Why has the older game much better physics? Compared to Mudrunner, Snowrunner feels like it is made out of plastic.
They tried (and succeed IMO) to make a game more appealing for casual gamers.
I think they are both great games though
Not much to lose? 3 slots, crane + trailer with very good fuel efficiency and very long range? I think it looks OP, but I haven't tested it yet.
Ya those things are great for sure, but all those mean very little if you are inherently unstable and that increases with addons and cargo on the frame. I still believe it’s pretty strong so I agree as well
@@NProvince Well, I'm curious about this instability, is it worse than a TwinSteer?
@@Don_Mag I think it depends. There are ways with both trucks to increase stability, but also the azovs slow nature allows the driver to predict upsetting moments better
Nice.
I love to drive this truck. Slow n steady sometimes lol
It is very strong and nice to drive
Them just reusing the same sounds from the azovs is another major downside for a paid truck tbh.. At this point I just hope that a sequel to snowrunner will have better ingame sounds...!
I dislike the look of so much wasted space in the middle of longer trucks, like with the standard fuel tank and water tank, they leave so much dead space in the middle of the frame, I'd rather them not have those addons, at least with the big kenworth and international Paystar you can have a saddle and fuel or van body respectively
I bought it last night from Epic, for free. Did test it for 10 mins before i had to go. It seems very good but stability is not the best it seems
For free! Nice!
@@NProvince yeah, i had more than enough Epic awards to spend :)
Interesting
Actually, when we have Azov 73210 in base game why do we need this one that is worse in all cases.
3-slot + bed + crane combo?
I do believe this truck will be patched later, I bet for 4 slots of cargo.
I would place my money on that as well
Love the emphasis on the "welcome back *once again* on *another* SnowRunner truck review". Nate, my man, you seem to be tired of this endless p2w trucks stream lol...
Glad you enjoyed the different tone of the intro. I think I am getting tired with every truck being the next best thing lol
"Promosm" 🤪
Not sure what you mean?
