Hi Sean, i rarely comment on videos but i just wanna say i love your great positive energy and insights despite losing some shipment plants. Thanks for this great video
When I import I cut back majority of roots and re-root. No matter how good they look, they always seem to melt back during the accumulation process. I learned this the hard way. There is definitely a learning curve when it comes to importing.
If you look back at the stems that were close to the roots on most of those plants, they were turning yellow already and past the point of no return.i knew right away which ones weren't going to make it no matter what you did. So sorry for the loss of your sweet pup. I know it's hard to say goodbye but you are doing the right thing by not allowing her to suffer any longer.
Hey Sean, greetings from the Bronx, NY. I find myself watching all your videos . Your voice is soothing and your enthusiasm is great. You make me laugh when you get excited cutting plants. I also love to see the people and nurseries in Indonesia. Thank you ❤️😊🌿🌼🍃☀️
Thank you so much for being so honest and doing a good update on your plants. For me as a newbie it is kind of a "relief" that everybody struggles with plants and plants imports, pests and so and so... Sometimes we get carried away with everything wonderful posted of Instagram or even here on TH-cam, and that makes us sad and frustrated. I hope you are doing well, I learned to enjoy your way of doing your videos. Thank you

I watch you all the time. My name is Cindy Vincent in Massachusetts USA. LOVE YOU AND YOUR PLANTS AND PETS. 🪴 ❤️
Oh, poor baby, I am so sad to hear about Gia, but I know she is in an even more amazing place now, I think you made the right decision and clearly she had a long and happy life with you. Thank you for sparing her the agony of a slow and painful death. This is what we do when we love someone. You did the right thing!
These are my favorite videos. The long drawn out propagating videos. Thank you. I’m so sorry about Gia. Shipping is so bad everywhere now I just feel it’s not a good time to buy plants from overseas. I did that a few months ago but my plants got stuck in customs. I’m still rehabbing the ones that survived
I am so sorry to hear about Gia. I had to put down my Vinnie in January. He had a tumor in his bladder and despite the best efforts of the veterinarians, I had to let him go. To prolong his life would not have been fair to him. It's the quality of life not the quantity. Gia had a wonderful life with you. God Speed Little Girl
I watched the previous video. I’m gonna stay mum but I think what happened is a clear indication of buyer beware. I’ve heard many stories like this. Sad. Excellent prop video, again. I really really love that you do these videos. It’s not easy because it’s takes a lot of time. Ty! This is def one of my favorite channels.
I could hear your pain over Gia. You did the right thing for her. I hope you've taken time for yourself. It is a lot with the many plants and the stress of a shop. Thank you for taking us along, particularly with your rehabilitation efforts. Ecuagenera is hands down one the best companies. Like with everything these are living things so there are losses. I live in a similar climate to yours in Florida and some just don't make it. Again, thank you for sharing.
It's never easy to say good bye. I will miss her appearances on your channel. She will live forever in your heart. Rest in peace, sweet little dachshund variegata.
Very informative as for your decision for your beautiful little friend. i can fully understand why you don't want here to suffer such pain. God bless the quality time you have left with her.
Wow, Sean! that's a lot of $$$ 😳 for an import. I hope your plants rebound and flourish in the near future. Sending you good vibes from the North. I am not that brave yet to import plants. 😄I prefer to buy local. Thanks for sharing the update about your store and Gia 😥.
I love watching your videos and learning from you. I am so sorry that you are having to make that choice for your loved pet, it is the hardest, selfless decision anyone has to make. All we can do is the best for our beloved pets and remember the love that they showed us in their life on this earth. Thankyou for your content
It's funny that I actually import plants from Indonesia and was watching your adventures here just nodding along the way. Yup, that's how importing works... I don't put imports straight into soil anymore though, they always rot for me. Only moss and lots of light and humidity. Leca is also good for recovery but I always forget to add the water in time so I stick to moss. Also, at least while importing to US, the roots have to be treated with strong chemicals and 90% of the time they do not survive, the plant needs to grow new roots most of the time. Some sturdier ones do keep some roots but you did not choose easy plants here... Keeping my fingers crossed for the survivors, now it will only get easier :) Oh... I actually started writing the comment before finishing the video. Poor Gia... In my opinion you made the right choice but I'm sure it was hard and I'm really sorry for you. Goodbye Dachshound Variegata, you will be missed.
Ah, another long propagation video, uniquely Sean. Therapeutic and hopefully heal the souls from this chaotic export/import issues. Condolences on Gia passing 🙏
Sorry about your sweet pup Sean, it's so hard, but you're doing the right thing. Love your videos, I'm learning a lot from them. My growing conditions are completely different from yours, I'm in the US, in the center of the country, cold winters, hot summers, it's a challenge! I don't grow the big aroids, not ready for that yet. I love syngoniums and tradescantias, and seeing your tropical climate makes me envious! Good luck to you, and love your channel!
@@onlyplants ohnoooo... i just ordered a big batch and.. i hope ecuagenera has changed approach with timing. I see some nice unpackaging from them lately. I love your trips and videos ❤️ i wish i was so free to travel as much as you, so i do it threw you ❤️
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always hard to make the decision to euthanize but it is a a kindness we can offer our precious ones to end their suffering. RIP Gia.
So sorry to hear about Gia. A member of your family for sure. And a hard decision to make.❤️🐾. I don’t use hydrogen peroxide on my plants. As with using it on human wounds, it kills good cells as well as bad. As usual Sean, propping away!! I just started propping in fluval stratum. Something new to try.💚🪴
Stop planting in pots and start a garden. I live in an area where all these plants do great in ground and I have a feeling than Indonesia is perfect for most or all these plants. You won’t regret it. They grow so much better
I would give the hydrogen peroxide a go when dealing with rotting plants. The best option on my opinion. Activated charcoal can be used for filtration but it does not sterilize anything with contact.
i have an order coming in from them in a few weeks. i'm in the US so hopefully customs is a bit nicer to them than they were to yours. but i bet in your care, they'll bounce back (i haven't finished the video yet)
I prefer re-rooting in perlite. I tried moss, but with perlite is much easier to avoid root rot. Water can also work, but its much slower. I've re-rooted all of my ecuagenera plants in perlite and they grew amazing roots! Give it a go :]
I’ve seen plants survive after getting lost in transit for a month! It is possible because I’ve imported anthuriums & philos from different nurseries most of which take 10-15 days to arrive. The care for these plants is nothing like normal plants. There’s tons of videos on TH-cam that explain the rehab process. If you decide to import again I hope it goes well!!
The rotting roots weren’t caused by the gardener watering. Imports rot all of their roots regardless of how they look on arrival. I’d take off as much as possible to prevent stem rot. In my opinion always keep the stem intact and don’t take props until roots have established bc the stem retains enough nutrients to keep it alive without roots. Overall major rules: chop roots, cut down to 3 leaves max, don’t fertilize, don’t propagate, and wash the remaining roots in dilute hydrogen peroxide and dip in rooting powder.
I feel so sorry about Gia, Gia kinda cute dog So sad to see her condition.. Hope this is the best for Gia to not to feel the pain any longer. Rest in double peace Gia :” But by the way Sean, i think it is not a good way to cut a streesful plants. They need time to adaptate and healed from shipping. When i get plant from shipping, the first thing i do is soaking them into the mix of water and fungicide then dry them out in the airy space :)
I used to be kind of careless about my planter pots. Now I will not put any plant in a pot unless it is washed and too constant cleaning of tools when working with bunches of plants at one time.
Philodendrons want to get a bit dry in their potting mix before watering . Otherwise they'll rot . When rehabbing plants we don't fertilize, you are stressing an already stressed plant. Anthuriums thrive in slightly moist spagnum from my experience. Finally, so sad to hear Gia passed away...!
WOW you are so brave for putting some of these directly into aroid mix!! I would not be able to relax, worried about my plants all day and night this way lol!! I’ve just watched you pot up the “pig skin” philo. I know this video has only been posted for about a week, but how are these plants doing so far? I’m also curious about the plant for your cousin that you planted up so deep into the soil! How is she doing ?

I'd like to know in what form is the B vitamin you buy and how much you put in the water. Also I love your channel and would love to visit your shop sometime soon.
My Tenue and Sharoniae Mosquera are still alive and i just brought them to see the outside world after living in the plastic box since December 😅. Their older bigger leaves are all gone or im dying to cut them off but they only put out a few small leaves. Ive poled them a week ago hoping it encourages them to put out leaves faster to climb the moss pole. My anthurium Luxurians and Debilis are still sleeping (i still see a few auxilliary buds developing so im assuming theyre not dead yet lol) after they suffered badly by the extreme Philippine summer heat 3 months ago.
Hi Sean! Happy 7th Day! Exodus 20:8-11 Did I tell you my sisters name is shawn. As you can see it's spelled different. What is your actual cultural name? So, I've got over 20 wet sticks growing in Moss, but quess what, They are in Spanish Moss. I got it at a big box store. Home Depot. Let me tell you why Spanish Moss. After watching many Planters grow pieces of a plant in Sprag rather than soil, I just got curious. I am a soil planter. But I wanted to try this method just because I was curious and usually prop in WATER. When I went to buy the Sprag, the size of the bag was too much for me since I'm only testing and wanted to see what all the interest in sprag was all about. Could not find a small enough amount but found a small amount I could deal with since I'm experimenting, in Spanish Moss. So I said to myself, this is moss too let's try it. To my surprise up came healthy sprouts of plant leaves. I'm letting them grow until they hit the top of the prop box, plastic take out food cartons, and then I will plant many of them together in soil if they can be planted together depending on the type of plant. Of coarse I was excited to see them grow in this medium and still excited. Now, I will not do this forever I do want to use good Sprag. What is good Sprag to you and what do you think of what I've done using Spanish Moss? Is there anything you know about Spanish Moss that you could share and why this worked? Take care and give Glory to the God who loves you.
Hello my real name is actually William 🙃. Thank you for that share, spanish moss is the common name for tillandsia usneoides, which is an airplant. Im not sure if thats what you are refering to? If it is, then its the first time I’ve heard them used as a propagation media 😅 they are definitely more expensive than sphagnum moss and this plant could die in a prop box as the humidity would suffocate it. But you may have been referring to a different Spanish moss entirely…? 😅
@@onlyplants Could well be a different Spanish Moss because my little babies are doing well in it. One thing though the S moss does turn dark while in use. I even reuse it by washing it in water mixed with peroxide. See, I just was trying something and that's what happened. I got the moss in a bag with just a good enough portion for my purpose. I am running out of that bag. Still I'd like to know your experience of what you think constitutes good or excellent Spraghnum Moss. I am getting ready to invest in Sprag. Ok, William. I thought perhaps you'd say Lagoa or something to that effect. Many people have European names and behind that are beautiful cultural names. My given name is Iinna. It is From Japanese. However, I gave my self another, Oma. It means strength. But my strength is in the God of the Universe. I'm just curios Sean, just curious. Thank you Mr. William and I'll keep watching. Glad to know you settled on what you love to do right now with plants. Sorry to know plant shop didn't work out and your little dog has passed but you've moved on to a NEW CHAPTER OF YOUR LIFE. As Aroids Only says, "KEEP PLANT'N"!
that Pallidiflorum may have been mislabled by Ecua. It looks more like Vittarifolium. I have both but its not easy to spot the differences if you just have one and not the other.
It hasnt grown a new leaf since but its alive haha I guess we will be able to tell when its a bit bigger but it seem to be a bit more pear shaped than my vittarifolium so far
So crazy. I'm literally waiting for my order to arrive from them today. Im videos on acclimation so I don't mess this up. I hope they arrive alive. I may have ordered too late in the season though.
I don’t mean to interrupt Sean’s video but I also have a video interviewing Ivan of Ecuagenera and he recommends what Sean is doing too. Pretty much leave in water with superthrive for a few days to a week. :)
@@jimmygimbal OMG..my plants arrived and they are all amazingly alive. Got them in a cup of water inside a plastic bin loaded with damp sphagnum. Im going to go buy some Superthrive after work and add to each cup.

My anthurium Luxurians and Debilis are still sleeping (i still see a few auxilliary buds developing so im assuming theyre not dead yet lol) after they suffered badly by the extreme Philippine summer heat 3 months ago.
Omg December… thats… 9 months haha. Actually some of my purchase are still struggling to put out the first or second leaf
Great video
I tried that A. Draco twice. The third time I managed to keep it alive. But its a tough one...
I am so sorry for Gia. 💔
Life is full of though decisions. 😔
Thank you
Oh I'm so sorry bout ur dog,,but I do respect w wat ur going to do..

Could well be a different Spanish Moss because my little babies are doing well in it.
@@jimmygimbal Thank you for the advice!
@@jimmygimbal OMG..my plants arrived and they are all amazingly alive. Got them in a cup of water inside a plastic bin loaded with damp sphagnum. Im going to go buy some Superthrive after work and add to each cup.
@@weavbrian add it to a gallon jug first to dilute :)
@@jimmygimbal OK. Will do. Thank you again. Checking out your channel now too. 🙂

What is that fenestrated plant in the background? It looks really nice to me.
It's an epipremnum pinnatum, looks like it could either be the green form, or the cebu blue form.
As Aiden says, common name Dragon Tail.
Its the cebu blue 😀
@@onlyplants Thank you!
@@onlyplants It's lovely. I want to find just a cutting of this so I can grow it on a pole. All the ones I see are hanging baskets, but I don't want to spend all that money.
Me gustó el helecho gigante que tienes atrás.
22:22 what children think when they can’t find you during hide and seek lol
Rest in peace Gia
Thank you 🙏🏽
I had issues with 90% of the plants I’ve order through Ecuagenera. Roots are usually junk and they need a long rehab for me
Usefull info...👌👌👌
Love Gia ❤
Rip to Gia
🙏🏽 thank you
How much b1 do you use? I’m assuming it’s also in liquid form
Yeppp liquid. I eyeball it, maybe only 0.3%-0.5% dilution if I can predict
Some of those plants are in really bad shape. If I payed that amount of money I would have been very angry. haha! But I know you loved the challenge and this might have excited you more. =)
Haha I have the biggest patience ever, which is not always a good thing
What fungicide do you use?
The brand is antracol

Thank youu

i felt so sad for your dapple dachshund....reminds me of my late dog (same breed) who also had tumor on her breast
How is your little dog doing?
He made the very tough decision to euthanize her because she was in so much pain due to the spreading cancer.
@@grat2010 I'm sorry to hear that. I have three dogs and the oldest one is losing mobility and getting confused. 💚
"cut,cut,cut,cut" hahaha
Sorry for Jia. Now get a girlfriend 👍
😅😅
Variegation is just discoloration right? In humans we look at it like some kind of skin condition. Why do you get so excited about variegation?
They can create beautiful and intricately unique patterns. Every leaf is different and cannot be replicated.
I can’t watch
🙈🙈
@@onlyplants That’s Me Sean 🤣😂💚
I Love seeing you find your way In life here on TH-cam. I referred you to my friend recently she reached out to you, and I hope great things come your way you deserve it. Sorry to hear about your loss, Gia will never be forgotten 🤎
