I’ve been really scratching my head over this one, too, and I think I just figured it out! In typical Frusciante fashion, he’s got his thumb wrapped around the neck, playing the low notes on the E string and muting the A string. Keeping that in mind, it appears he begins the chorus with that quick A chord (2nd fret on G & D), then slides those two fingers up to that quick C chord (5th fret on G & D). I believe the next chord is a C7 (4th fret on B; 3rd on G; 5th on D), played without the root C note (3rd on A), of course. He plays that twice, then slides down one fret, retaining that chord shape, which becomes then B7 (3rd on B, 2nd on G, 4th on D; I *believe* that’s a 7th note). Next, using his thumb, he strikes the F note (1st on E). On the B string, he pulls-off from the 4th to 3rd to 1st frets, then hammers-on the A note (2nd on G). Then, he plucks that low F note again (using his thumb), then plucks that noticeable A flat note (1st on G), then a quick E note (open on low E string), then finally he plays that staccato’d E (open on high e string). Hopefully that made sense! I haven’t seen a tab that shows that exactly, so I might have to publish one.
This tab does the chorus correctly: tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/red-hot-chili-peppers/funky-monks-tabs-495585 But it takes some practice to play it at speed and not to be distracted by the fact that it's very off beat.

There are no monks in my band
There are no saints in this land
I'll be doin' all I can
If I die an honest man
Confusion is my middle name
Ask me again I'll tell you the same
Persuaded by one sexy dame
No I do not feel no shame
You are on the road
Can I get a little lovin' from you
Can I get a little bit of that done did do
You are on the road
Tell me now girl that you need me too
Tell me now girl cause I've got a feeling for you
Every man has certain needs
Talkin' 'bout them dirty deeds
To these needs I must concede
Livin' by my lowly creed
Woman please know that I'm good
Know that I did all I could
But yes it's true likelihood
Of being great is not so good
You are on the road
Can I get a little lovin' from you
Can I get a little bit of that done did do
You are on the road
Tell me now girl that you need me too
Tell me now girl cause I've got a feeling for you
There are no monks in my band
There are no saints in this land
I'll be doin' all I can
If I die an honest man
Virtue slipped into my shoe
No I will not misconstrue
More rockin' more rockin' now doobley do
Dancin' down your avenue
You are on the road
Can I get a little lovin' from you
Can I get a little bit of that done did do
You are on the road
Tell me now girl that you need me too
Tell me now girl cause I've got a feeling for you
