In this run of Sonic Advance, the author doesn't take advantage of the game-destroying spindash glitch featured in the normal run ( tasvideos.org/... ). It goes somewhat slower because of this, but new inventive solutions are used to get through each act, and the result is still much faster than any oversized ferret ought to be moving.

There are two encodes for this movie: The first is a standard encode and the second is a camhacked encode that keeps Sonic in the center of the screen more often.

I dunno what an "ultraspindash" is, but that's exactly how I would describe whatever the fuck Sonic is doing here.

The "ultraspindash" is somehow even more crazy. Charging up a Spindash by pressing 'A' every other frame 12 times consecutively (so 12 back to back frame perfect inputs) you can move so fast that it breaks multiple aspects of the game.

What Sonic is using here is an air dash of sorts exclusive to Advance 1 and 2, where double-tapping a direction in the air will multiply your speed. TASes can use this technique to devastating effect and gain unreasonable amounts of speed in very little time. This air dash is indicated by Sonic leaning forward in the air.

I always wondered what "camhack" meant on these Sonic runs, but I guess I never bothered reading the description before. lol

camhack fixes the game's camera, if you go to see the TAS of that same game without camhack, the difference is noticeable, sonic goes so fast that the camera can't reach, there's this glitch in sonic the hedgehog, which is the first game.

There's parts in here that I don't get.
Like in most places, they just get the maximum points. Others, Don't, despite the fact they completed it so quickly

Exactly how many points you get depends on how quickly you finished. In order to get the largest bonus, you must finish in less than _half a minute_ (put another way, hitting the 30-second mark will drop your score).

That's an air dash, initiated by double-tapping a direction in the air. Doing this will multiply your speed in that direction, which is exactly as busted as it sounds in the hands of a TAS. It's present in Advance 2 as well!
