The Most Mysterious Song On The Internet : It's Not That Improbable

I recently discovered the phenomenon of the most mysterious song on the internet. It immediately pulled me in. Such an interesting story!
If you are not familiar with this story, here it is in a nutshell: Way back in the early 80s, a boy in Germany recorded a song off the radio onto a cassette. He wrote down the names of the songs and the artists, but somehow the name of the artist for this particular song was not mentioned. To this day, nobody has any clue who the artist is behind this song!
I think this story really amazes people, because in this day and age of the internet, it blows people away that the answer to this mystery is still out of reach. We tend to think that the almighty internet will ALWAYS give us the information we seek. Not always.
In this video, I argue that this is not really all that improbable. In fact, I would wager that this is not an isolated incident, and that there are probably thousands of songs out there that have been recorded over the years and nobody is really sure who the artist is. If you think about it, since the rise of popular music, tens of thousands of songs have been recorded, and literally millions of records have been released world wide. And much of that has still not been digitized and probably never will. There are more than likely still thousands of recorded songs out there that are still stuck in the old days of analogue, and may never make the transition to digital.
In this video, I mention an example of a song from my youth that could have fallen under the same predicament. It is a song that my local radio station only played for one week, and I make a rough estimate that the song probably only got played a few times in that week. As well, I don't think the song got huge amounts of play across Canada, and probably very little outside of Canada, if any play at all.
I find this story absolutely fascinating. I love this song a lot. On one hand, I hope they never figure out this mystery. I like that it has defied being solved for over 40 years!
