I saw this today, I think this is my favourite song from the show, I would definitely go again
Back in April my school's band and chorus went to NYC to see this on Broadway and we got to work with actors and musicians from the show and the chorus (that I was in) learned the dance that they do at 1:42
Saw my daughter perform this sing after completing a summer youth arts workshop, and fell in love with this song instantly. 😍

they're called hammerheads, they're from baums original book...but in the book they arent really cheery

This was a press performance, meant for people to film and take pictures for the media. Most people didn’t due to filming/ were busy but either way I do think they should’ve done!

I heard one of the main reasons why is because this show is for the press, not an actual show for the public to see, so it's best if they don't 'spoil' it yet.
@@gabenugget that isn't a spoiler in any way at all. They should have cut the music so it didn't seem so awkward and like someone messed up.
This is a show for the press aka they're taking press shots and so my guess is so they get a cool shot of the oz curtain.
That line and also the fact that Elphaba has a monologue there where she talks about how Oz is where she finally belongs which is why that was a long break.

Listening to this 24/7 for a part that I’ll be rehearsing soon. No complaints tbh
Me and my school at an arts camp did this it took us from 9:00am to 11:00pm to learn and make the video and the audio recording it was so stressful but so worth it

Interestingly, I am 99% certain the backing track is a mix between mostly the Broadway album and, during the weird green curtain bit in the middle, the reduced score backing tracks, i.e. there's no live orchestra in this video...

Hi Thanks for visiting. I'm not sure but could it be that this short clip was taken during an exclusive media preview which did not feature the entire show but clips of it hence ...it's not the full stage crew.
