So true... here is an ENTirE continent of people in Africa that would benefit GrEATLY hearing his wisdom... and definitely ... to those of us that dont have fathers any more he is a voice of reason and a compass in confusing and hard times. Im a 36 year old caucasian mother of 3 girls living in South Africa no father or gan dads left, my mentors have all passed as well... my husband works night shift on oil rigs for months at a time ... i miss male guidance alot in my life. And i agree that mr elder might not have biological kids but he touches the lives of more than he might know.

The amazing thing is, there are literally millions of successful black people that did it on their own in this country, there is no better country on the planet for black people to make it, especially and including other black countries, and yet 90% STILL complain. What makes it so bad is that a ton of non-black people, who aren't racist, do start to judge black people more than others, wondering if we are dealing with a GOOD ONE like you, or a majority one, where we know we are better off not dealing with them in good faith. Politicians are criminals with protection of the law, running an extortion plantation where you pay the emperor his tribute, even if we rotate who the emperor is every 4 years, like a volleyball serve, or you go into a grape cage. Pundits are usually the ideologues who tell us why we need THEIR liars...because that's what elections are...it's theater...it's us LARPing we have a say, when in reality our votes don't correlate to public policy outcomes in studies, and instead lobbying money correlates to policy, so the voting is irrelevant statistically speaking (FACTS). We line up every few years to choose which liar's lies we like best...because ultimately their promises do not occur, and they do what they were paid to do by their benefactors. This is how elections were DESIGNED to work, since Ancient Greece. Socrates warned that elections were meant to give the aristocracy power and represent them, not the people. Many others warned us too, from that time period and beyond. The only form of democracy that gives the people true representation is sortition (random selection of qualified individuals, like we do with juries, but with volunteers instead). It's the only form that can exist without Parties, their caused political strife, without lobbying, without gerrymandering anymore, without most of the corruption, etc. You can keep the rest of the Constitution..just replace elections with random selection, leave it apportioned and by district, both Houses of Congress, etc. Use no-confidence votes instead of re-election campaigns...as there will be no more campaigns!
Pundits help brainwash this tax-slave plantation of crony capitalism into thinking we need the masters, that the plantation is safer than being free, and that crony capitalism is actually "free market". Pundits arguably do less damage than the rulers they fawn over and wish to be...but they aren't benign or doing good mostly either.
I like Larry, I think he'd be the best of the candidates on either side...but in the end, he's still a political parasite if he enters office. At least while in the private sector, there is no parasitism. He's just honestly telling people his brainwashed ideas...the statist ones, I refer to. But, since so much other truth is mixed in, he can be a benefit to people who haven't made it at least that far in philosophy yet. He'd be a detriment to anyone else. Larry can get you so far...then you need libertarian minarchists and Objectivists, Agorists and Ancaps, autarchists and left-wing market anarchists to get you the rest of the way.
Once you realize taxation is just a euphemism for legalized extortion, and random selection solves most of our problems in the present day state, there is no going back. It's free markets and free people, or bust. The state must be abolished eventually to have a truly free market (given the definition of free market means "sans state involvement or influence on prices, supply and demand, liability limitations, and/or competition, etc."). A truly free market makes our people the wealthiest possible, which alleviates all the ills of poverty and such. So, it must be the goal, or you misunderstand economics...or want relatively worse things for people, because of YOUR individual PREFERENCES. However, immediate abolition of the state would harm too many dependent people, so we would need a transitional phase, likely to unwind the bankrupt or insolvent entitlement liabilities in a way that harms the least number of people possible, in the least ways possible.
In this way, Larry would serve better in office as a parasite than a propagandist. He would halt or slow growth of the state...allowing more time for people to wake up to the fact they are tax-slaves on a tax plantation, before it's too late, and the inevitable collapse our society occurs under the weight of the parasite it plays host to; the state. The state has a lifecycle, and we're racing the clock on if we're going to be stupid and masochistic enough to set up another state in the wake of this one.
The Star Wars paradox of stupidity...keep setting up a new republic, so it can inevitably become an empire again, so we have to overthrow it, and set up another new republic...ad nauseam.
Let's try an actual free market and truly free society for a change, eh?
It's like we're told by a man in the room with a gun, "stand on that rug with both feet...do not sit, do not put one foot on the floor outside the rug, do not wear a harness and rope and tie it to the ceiling to protect you from falls"....and then he pulls the rug out from underneath us, and we fall and break our tailbone...and instead of blaming the man with the gun who forced us into a monopoly of support on this rug, we blame the lack of rug for chaos our our broken bone. The man with the gun forcing us to not have competing means of support is the state's enforcement of its monopoly on initiated force in the geographic area it claims as turf....the rug is the state apparatus we have become dependent upon...the alternative means of support are free market providers who would fill the space if allowed.
Stop blaming the lack of rug (state) for injuries (chaos) in a forced situation which is bound to harm us (failed state). The state causes the chaos by being a monopolist on its services, threatening out any alternative means of market support that would prevent such a blatant single point of failure in the system. When eggs get recalled or an egg producer goes bankrupt, how long is the interruption of egg services to us at stores?? THAT IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE MARKET COMPETITORS FOR US TO SWITCH TO IN A NIMBLE WAY AS CONSUMERS.
The state creates a monopoly, it collapses, taking society down with it, given society was outlawed from alternatives, and fools blame the lack of state for the problem...instead of logically blaming having a state to begin with.
"The state is a disease, masquerading as its own cure."
      ~ Robert LeFevre ~

The most “systematic” racism I ever experienced was from other black people. I got good grades growing up and for that I was called “white”. I liked to read and I was called “Encyclopedia Brown” (yeah I’m old I know) by my black friends. I learned Spanish at a young age and was made fun of when I’d sit at the Mexican table at lunch to speak Spanish with my friends. It never made sense to me because I considered all those things to be good and my parents raised me to value education but I quickly realized that there was pressure by other black people to conform to what they considered black. This was not all of course but a decent amount.

I’m Asian and use go to a black school and also mixed school (large number of both white and black students). I can attest to this attitude you’re talking about. For some reason the black students who do well often look different due to physical characteristics, their demeanor and/or the way they dress. Very often they are ostracized in some way. I remember a black student was called acting white and being laughed at. He just sat there and took it. Nothing he can do about it. At the time when I witnessed this (this was seventh or eighth grade), I didn’t think much of it. Didn’t know this type of mockery can derailed someone’s life. I also had a black friend who’s girlfriend didn’t wanna be with him any more because she didn’t like him studying so much. I asked him how do you steady yourself through these sort of unsupportive attitudes around you. He said: I just keep my eyes on the prize. And yes, all that studying paid off and he made very good money being a corporate lawyer.

At the gym, in a store, etc. Lately, I’ve abandoned leftism and political ideology as a whole and realized that I should just be a free agent. I never like the Democrats, but I liked Bernie Sanders. He’s the only politician I ever liked. Even Obama I never liked. He seems too slimy and inauthentic. Like he’s a weathervane, rather than a compass leading you to true north. And I’m black. Now I just focus on ideas and the intangibles that help ppl get shit done. I liked this a lot. I genuinely understand why truly free thinking ppl are independent of the left or the right. And I left NYC last year and moved to TX and I love it.

Fatherlessness is a bigger problem than systemic racism but fatherlessness is a symptom of systemic racism.
Over policing, racist sentencing, under education etc etc.

But how many black men and women who are unmarried for 4 or 5 baby mamas? What does that have to do with the system?

Still no accountability and he missed the message as to why he received the donkey. The question isn't if systemic racism exists, because it does. This man tried to say it was less important than fatherlessness and the same system he downplayed to redirect held him down and did not give him the platform to speak about that fatherlessness on a national scale to more people that can really hear the concerns of black people, which is a veiled descendant of the systemic racism CTG referred to. I'm no CTG fan, but this man did exactly what his party wanted: deflect, support the system and shut up, with no reward in the end. There are a number of old school names in our community for this behavior, which I'm sure he's been called, but I'd sum it up as willfully ignorant. Smh keep drinking the Kool Aide sir :)

I find it hard to believe that Charlemagne, who gets offended every time a white person says anything that isn’t self flagellating, wasn’t offended by somebody with an actual history of racism telling him how he should think because of his race.

Even as a victim. Lose the victim mentality. Sure our grandparents couldn't get a job, their for they couldn't put our fathers on. But we can break that cycle. We can put our kids on to success like they did for them when they took over

Of course maybe white people are generations ahead as far as connections in the work space. This guy is saying we CAN compete against the sons of these guys. Take responsibility for your life even if the odds are against you. It can happen. Be the exception.

The issue, even by using your exact logic here, is that success is the exception. Those are your words. That in and of itself speaks to a systemic issue.

@neilgregory9242 I agree. It's obviously there. This guy is saying work past that. Be better than the son & grandson of the owner. Even if they do have generations worth of advantage
