Interesting instrument dash as i have never seen a RH version of the LH design. Is it a very good bespoke replica/mirror of an OE LH ? Clausager says that the central square oil gauge is unique to American cars! (You have already highlighted the 3 points re the windscreen wipers). looks like a fun project !Cheers, Charles
The overdrive filter I use, which is the same as OE is a combined one piece filter & gasket. I follow John Twist's advice & smear a small amount of grease each side on the gasket. Then i bolt the cover & filter / gasket to the overdrive being careful not to overnighten the bolts which then results in an oil tight seal. That was bad luck with the rack! Cheers, Charles
Hi Charles, Thank you for the comments, yeap the rack was a bit of an issue however hopefully resolved now. The filter under the overdrive i'm addressing that with Rimmers to see what they have to say. Tightening the bolts, I was aware of that one and torqued them up, barely more than hand tight, was a bit surprised.
Yes. I have a MGB and an MGB GT in pieces. Both are painted. No wires, fuel or brake lines are in place. Both front ends are disassembled, interiors remain aspirational. You provide great tips and guidance. My journey has rested on your reviewable posts. This recent emphasis on clean, tight connections, complete clean electrics,is very helpful. I’m going to build as if each component will be checked upon installation. The only corners to cut will be paved.
@@danielwoodard680 Thank you for your kind comments. If you start "messing" around with the windscreen of your B don't underestimate the work involved here, I remember doing the bottom rubber on a B in my youth, however I don't remember it being as bad as it was for me this time. It was a nightmare and the only job I considered giving to someone else. It was only encouragement from my wife to "stick with it" that got me over the line.
Well I have quite a few bits left over so I thought why not, this MG seemed to be OK, however was a bit of a shot in the dark with the ebay purchase. Happy enough, not to bad and on the other hand not to good. Hopefully get the other one over the pits on Thursday, surely there can't be anything else............
Hi Richard, Well spotted, I had noticed this and i've run a magnet over the top of both the rear wings and the front wing / scuttle panel and I had good magnetism and I'm ever hopeful. The structural part under the front wings is intact, another good sign. I'll keep on checking and see what I find. You are right though, not usually a good sign.

Thanks for posting this episode.
No problem Daniel, glad to hear you got something out of it. Was there anything specific or just the whole adventure?

@@CrapToCreamI did notice it has no seams on the front or rear wings which is never a good sign as it’s generally because the seams were rusty 🤦🏻♂️
