Id love to see minecraft classic mods being ported over to this game. Create, ae2, mekanism, etc. Depending on how the game actually is of course. Perhaps all of these systems will be in the game from the start. But a healthy modding community could make this game unbelievable
I’m conflicted… Hytale looks amazing, but I will be sad to leave the dragon quest builders 2 community and see it die after being basically dead for years already.
There was no game to have footage. It's like building a house, but deciding you want to get rid of all the equipment, machinery and materials. You take down the house, because you're not satisfied with the materials, you start buying new equipment, new machinery, and until everything is in place, the house can't be ready even for show. As so as they are finished with the tools they need to use to create the game, then they will start to create the game. Edit: Also, maybe they just don't want to overhype people to avoid making them disappointed due to the long duration of development. They need breathing room.
@@stanislav4607 they have more than enough breathing room. most if not all of the original hype for hytale has evaporated, because they have in fact already overhyped people, and then continued somewhat desperately to try and maintain whatever hype they could by releasing vague and blurry information, to try and keep people believing in the promises that they made so long ago without actually showing off a completely different game than what everyone had expected.
Thank you for the timeline, this is honestly a bit more concrete than some of the other videos. Also, I think we will at least have a closed or open beta in 2025, I'm guessing around next summer, like July or something. That should bolster development a good bit and give us a good full release date that, even in the best circumstances, I personally estimate to be early to mid 2026. So a beta is still in the cards, guys, they'd be crazy not to let us test it ourselves.
Also, which do you like best? Bluestone, Hystone, Skystone, or something else? Considering this game really does have its own version of Redstone, I'm wondering what its name would be. I really liked "bluestone" because "ha ha, legally distinct name," but I'm starting to branch out a bit. I'm a little partial to "Hystone," myself.
I'm really praying for at least a closed beta next year, because then even if I don't get in (although I was pretty fast at signing up), I should at least be able to see a lot of content on youtube about the game, which will confirm and deny many worries and expectations (for better or worse). Of course, an open beta would be even better, but I don't think that's realistic. I do expect it for 2026 though, and then full release probably 2027 (or possibly late 2026).
I think it's impossible to predict full release because it entirely depends on how they tackle the beta. I do agree that beta will be in summer 2026 though.
when this game eventually comes out i expect there to be an hour long breakdown from you detailing the full development cycle and pre release comunity lo. Almost as interesting as the game itself. There will be actually hytale historians haha.
Since they said that if they hit their end of year milestone, they will have the most feature complete version to date, I've allowed myself a little more excitement. I'm still happy to wait as long as needs be, but before that statement I followed the development with a patient mind. Now I'm beginning to allow the hype to bubble back up to the surface a bit. The thing I'm excited for most though, is the devs finally being able to see the communities reaction to it. It must be hard when half your fanbase is claiming your hard work is "dead". It will a great day when all the non believers come back with their tails between their legs... Though I imagine they will all claim they never lost hope in the first place.
i saw a reply to a comment on this video which said, "You know they aren't keeping you here, right?" you're right, of course they aren't keeping us here. but they also aren't really giving us anything to make us want to stay. nobody likes getting their hopes up for something for years, only to slowly (painfully slow) lose that hope and excitement over time. it's nobodies fault, just circumstance. hytales development so far has been objectively rough, to the point where it was believed that they might even be in development hell, and that shows in the comments (or lack of) on any post that is hytale related. hytale is a new company, this is their first game, and the bottom line is that they have yet to earn the trust and support that is afforded to a company like rockstar for example. gta 6 has been in development for even longer than hytale, but the hype for gta 6 now is almost immeasurable, and that is where hytale was and is still at a disadvantage. so far they have not done a very good job, or good enough job rather, at building trust between themselves as a company, and the people. especially in this day in age where it seems like every month there is a new company claiming to make a game that either doesn't even exist, or is extremely distorted from what they originally promised. you have to consider all of these things to understand why some people are losing interest, or even developing negative feelings towards hytale, which i think we can all agree, is pretty sad to watch.
So after 8 years they are just now ready not to release even a beta of the game but to actually start properly developing the game?💀 Its crazy to think that this game was supposed to be out in 2018, and almost a decade later, despite being funded by one of the biggest game companies in Riot, the “team” of hundreds of people are not yet even READY to make the damn game. I had so much hype and hope for Hytale and every estimated release date has been postponed by years, so i dont know why anyone would trust that the game is “closer” than we think. Also i find it funny how Hytale is the only game where its creators, for the past few years, have been making content on how they imagine the game would be played💀, either that or just minor updates every now and then that are seemingly the same, in hopes of maintaining viewers interest on something that does not exist - this is so sad…
If the game comes out later than 2026 (so 2027 or later) I’m actually just not gonna even bother, it’s just wayyyy too long, a decade of waiting for a game when all the people who grew up hoping for this game will be adults with careers and families of their own with hardly any time to play the game they waited a decade for. I understand game development is hard and takes time but a decade is insane, and even they know it that’s why they downscaled the release content to just zones 1-3 they know if they kept us waiting longer, lots of people would be upset.

As a professional software developer, I said in 2022: "The earlierst release date I can imagen is 2025. But more likely end of 2026". Well end of 2026 seems to be a good guess. But considering they just implemented a new engine, I assume they have A TON OF WORK ahead. So I assume the earliest is end of 2026, but more likely end of 2027.
Right now, the overall hype around the game is pretty low, but i believe as soon as its close to launch, for real, they will manage to get all the hype back.
I mean I’m probably gonna get the game when it comes out, but it’s taking way too long to actually come out since it’s announcement. I get that the team behind the game want the launch to be absolutely perfect, but I think they’re running into an Ouroboros problem wherein they indefinitely try to make things better, finish up certain aspects, and then other parts of they game that are basically done are looked at and the devs feel compelled that they need improvement. Case in point; throwing out their entire engine in favor of a questionable upgrade and basically having to start development completely over again. Props to them for sticking by their game like that in an age where support for games are dropped the moment they stop hitting a certain profit margin, but there comes a point where dedication becomes detriment.
Listen, as a Metroid fan, I am used to long wait times (see time between Metroid Prime 3 and 4 lol). My tip, just sit and wait and have it in the background. And when they announce release date, HYPE THAT SHIT UP!
This makes me SUPER excited about this game. Seeing the dedication of the dev team to release a full and finished product that will put very real competition into the game genre makes very hopeful for the future of the genre as a whole
imagine a creative test version, superflat world, full creative inventory. this would be a great thing and i guess much more easy to make then a story/survival test with full worldgen.(give us builders a headstart XD )
Could leak a lot of the survival world if people focus heavily on the details of blocks, which would definitely happen knowing the Hytale community lol.
Thank you man for keeping people updated and in the good mood about the game. If it weren't for you, I'm afraid the blog posts wouldn't be enough to keep me excited and interested in this game.
I am so excited. Honestly 2026 summer would be good, but I think they should release it on the holidays. Minecraft releases their updates in the summer and this is a Minecraft competitor. The best thing to do is to release it in a dry period or the holidays. Though then it will compete with a lot of other new releases, I really don't think there are going to be many major games that year. I am trying to spread the world because I really want this game to succeed.
So they can keep moving back the release for years and years and years and everyone is just okay with this? The world will probably end before the launch this game.
the community are literally all okay with this on discord, and reddit. I left the community in 2023. we've been waiting since 2018 and no one is really reproaching the devs.
they aren't moving the release date back years and years and years. They never really gave a solid timeframe for release ever, really. They at one point said 2018, but people forget the full engine rewrite and COVID, so yeah.
@@DakumunDahBat "things happen 🤷♂" that's why they're gonna keep pushing the game release for years and years to come. because people like you say what they say.
the fact that they aren't trying to sell a broken and buggy early access game that will never release completely and they are in fact trying to finish the game before delivering is actually fantastic
I'm curious about the original beta sign ups, I assume those have been tracked since it first went live what feels like a decade ago. I don't know if they do a pull from order or if it's random or not.
I was still in highschool back when the trailer released, Now fast forward 5 years later im already a fulltime working adult and Its STILL not released.. lol
Hytale was announced before I went to high school, and now I'm in college, and have been keeping track ever since the announcement (Not everything, but I come back every once in a while to see if anything new comes up). I think I can bare to wait a little longer, you know? lol And, honestly, coding the engine takes the lion's share of any games development. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out next year. Games that take years to develop, for instance Cyberpunk 2077, go through many, many completely different iterations, and the one they release with is almost always, at most, a year old, if not less, just built on the same engine as the previous ones. So unless the Hytale team really aren't satisfied with the outcome and scrap and redo most of it (Which I would be very surprised if it did happen), it shouldn't be that far off. I'd say 2026 at the latest for the full release, and if they really do release a playable Beta, that would be sometime next year. They're making the Neverwinter Nights Toolset of sandboxes here, we can bare to wait a little longer.
finally, someone who doesn't just go "its not releasing!" like, seriously, this game is taking the amount of time a game this size SHOULD take. They aren't a triple a studio like ubisoft or something that farts out games every year.
I get a little tired of seeing so many people talk down about the project out of bitterness. There's no sense in being so negative, but y'know what they say; misery loves company. Instead I'd rather look forward to the project and continue to support their dream. It looks absolutely beautiful so far! I think I'll have a blast exploring the world they've built. I think my favorite place will wind up being the underground cavers of zone 4, funnily enough. I'm completely enthralled by their take on fantastical dinosaurs. The world-building as a whole has been a source of inspiration to me already, which I would guess is part of their goal! I feel fairly certain that when the game is close to release, the hype will shoot right back up and go viral again. Riot wouldn't have bought the company if they didn't think so also. They've got a lot of setup for success. Relax and enjoy what we've got so far! In the meantime, maybe some of us should focus on improving our own lives instead of spreading disappointment and negativity.
its just getting kinda ridiculous at this point. feels like we're being lead on, and any new info that we do get is very vague, and limited, and feels like a desperate attempt from hytale to prevent people from hopping off the hytale train which at this point they have really rode to death. i understand game development is hard and time consuming, but can they really expect people to stick by them until release when we just keep going in circles like this? its to the point now where some people legitimately believe that hytale is just one big scam, or at least puffed up to be something it isn't. that should say something. what do i want them to do? finish the game and release it of course. but to be honest ive lost most if not all interest in hytale by now, which is too bad.
@@jordans9801 They don't expect everybody to remain super hyped all the way up until release- by giving small bits of info, the people who are *really* dedicated get something to chew on, while the rest of us can go on our merry way until another trailer and release date. That's when hype will shoot back up for the majority of people. The purpose of this information they give to people is to keep dedicated fans updated. Not to keep the entire fanbase super interested until release. It's intended to die down and be on the down low for now- losing interest is normal and supposed to happen. I think most people just don't understand this and jump to "it's a scam" because they don't understand how these things work and are looking for something to complain about. =P
So far it's been five years, and news is that the first half of the year is so they can finally start working on a new engine? While that is admittedly frustrating to hear, it's WAY better than them learning it after the game releases (Halo Infinite).
well, they were working on the engine long before 2024, the first half of this year wasn't a ton of work on the new engine, it was switching employees over to the new engine and developing the tools to make the game in the new engine, which is completely different.
If they are going to finish the engine at the end of 2024, that means the game is a lot futher than people thought. The engine is the framework/foundation of the game. That means they still got a lot more work to do before the game to release since the engine is normally one of the first things to game devs do before they start building up their game. Most likely this means I wouldn't expect a beta until 2027 or a full release until 2028
The engine isn't being finished at the end of 2024, it's practically already finished. What they are doing right now is moving employees over to the new engine and working on creation tools within the new engine. Atleast, i'm certain that's what is happening.

Duh things got delayed.
@@DakumunDahBatI'm mostly just making fun of how people have been clickbaiting "hytale coming soon" for over 5 years.
Also the majority of delays have been due to improving game design to support a larger player audience and switching hytale over to C++.
I really hope hytales block depth ends up being really deep
I find it amazing how many fans just drop out after their original announcement trailer. but there are just that good bunch that still wait. Cant wait for this to come out though.
I’m one of those ‘drop out’ fans, but that’s just cuz I’m not patient enough to wait actively, so I forget about it and drop in every now and then; don’t worry, when the hype returns, it will for sure return with us
@@nol2521 Exactly, once hytale is actually ready, they will market another trailer. Don't know if it will reach the same viewership as the original but it will definitely bring a lot of the drop out fans including myself to come back.
No offense to the youtuber, but I haven't and will not watch this video. I always go straight to the comments to see if there is actually new details on Hytale. I am just waiting for that new trailer..I just saw this in my algorithm to see what people are saying about this game these days..

The sooner my buds and I can start messing with the modding tools, the better!
I wish there were more gameplay footage
I'm a little partial to "Hystone," myself.
we’re tired
I'm really praying for at least a closed beta next year, because then even if I don't get in (although I was pretty fast at signing up), I should at least be able to see a lot of content on youtube about the game, which will confirm and deny many worries and expectations (for better or worse).
Of course, an open beta would be even better, but I don't think that's realistic. I do expect it for 2026 though, and then full release probably 2027 (or possibly late 2026).
I think it's impossible to predict full release because it entirely depends on how they tackle the beta.
I do agree that beta will be in summer 2026 though.
This is a nicely timed update for my very random check ups on how the devlopment is like.
Im probably going to die before Hytale comes out
when this game eventually comes out i expect there to be an hour long breakdown from you detailing the full development cycle and pre release comunity lo. Almost as interesting as the game itself. There will be actually hytale historians haha.
Closer? So 2027 instead of 2030? 💀😭
I've picked a release in December 2028, after exactly 10 years.
2026 likely
Hyperbole aside, 2027 would be a good late estimate. Personally I'm assuming 2026 to 2028 as a potential release date window.
It's a race between Hytale and GTA6 💀
@@JLHammeren GTA 6 will win no doubt
Thanks for keeping us updated and informed man! I appreciate it!
We’re running out of pills, Kweebec. Please…
I think we will get GTA VI before Hytale.
They need to release something soon to play like god damn
i saw a reply to a comment on this video which said, "You know they aren't keeping you here, right?" you're right, of course they aren't keeping us here. but they also aren't really giving us anything to make us want to stay. nobody likes getting their hopes up for something for years, only to slowly (painfully slow) lose that hope and excitement over time. it's nobodies fault, just circumstance. hytales development so far has been objectively rough, to the point where it was believed that they might even be in development hell, and that shows in the comments (or lack of) on any post that is hytale related. hytale is a new company, this is their first game, and the bottom line is that they have yet to earn the trust and support that is afforded to a company like rockstar for example. gta 6 has been in development for even longer than hytale, but the hype for gta 6 now is almost immeasurable, and that is where hytale was and is still at a disadvantage. so far they have not done a very good job, or good enough job rather, at building trust between themselves as a company, and the people. especially in this day in age where it seems like every month there is a new company claiming to make a game that either doesn't even exist, or is extremely distorted from what they originally promised. you have to consider all of these things to understand why some people are losing interest, or even developing negative feelings towards hytale, which i think we can all agree, is pretty sad to watch.

Surely, it will be released in the next decade or two.

If you want a similar game but more focused on survival, Vintage Story is a good pick. We're nearing the 1.20 update that adds more story content.
*I signed up for the beta on day one. I really hope I get to beta test in 2025. I would be over the moon.*
These guys made a trailer saw that is has huge potential and then they started building the game.

Could leak a lot of the survival world if people focus heavily on the details of blocks, which would definitely happen knowing the Hytale community lol.

the fact that they aren't trying to sell a broken and buggy early access game that will never release completely and they are in fact trying to finish the game before delivering is actually fantastic
I'm curious about the original beta sign ups, I assume those have been tracked since it first went live what feels like a decade ago. I don't know if they do a pull from order or if it's random or not.
I was a sophomore in high school when the game was announced. I’ll have my bachelors before the game comes out
I was still in highschool back when the trailer released, Now fast forward 5 years later im already a fulltime working adult and Its STILL not released.. lol
This game isnt for us mortal people
Hytale was announced before I went to high school, and now I'm in college, and have been keeping track ever since the announcement (Not everything, but I come back every once in a while to see if anything new comes up).
They aren't a triple a studio like ubisoft or something that farts out games every year.
id have finished the whole of middle school since the trailer
Complaining about the complainers 😂
its just getting kinda ridiculous at this point. feels like we're being lead on, and any new info that we do get is very vague, and limited, and feels like a desperate attempt from hytale to prevent people from hopping off the hytale train which at this point they have really rode to death. i understand game development is hard and time consuming, but can they really expect people to stick by them until release when we just keep going in circles like this? its to the point now where some people legitimately believe that hytale is just one big scam, or at least puffed up to be something it isn't. that should say something. what do i want them to do? finish the game and release it of course. but to be honest ive lost most if not all interest in hytale by now, which is too bad.
Hope can start playing next year
