This whole storyline is so heartbreaking but the portrayals has been so powerful. I really do hope hollyoaks and everyone involved in the storyline gets the recognition they deserves
Yes. It kind of reminds me of those SOB'S! who form Boy Bands and "abuse" them. Chris Stokes the self described King of The Black Boy Bands who launched B2K who went to Number One in 2001 with Jump Jump Jump who abused two of his proteges who recanted a statement about being abused. To this day, they don't speak to each other after 17 Years. Edgardo Diaz who created Menudo the biggest Boy Band from the Latin World that Ricky Martin auditioned for 3 Times before being accepted and he became the biggest star in the Group while one former Member ended up as a fry Cook at Burger King. The Biggest of course was Lou Pearlman who launched The Careers of The Backstreet Boys & N'Sync and a former Member of O-Town Ikika Kaohano quit because Lou wanted to be his "Boy".

Omg me, it's such a compelling event. It really is. Watching this is all of heartbreaking because they must feel so scared.
Chantelle Bell I was scared to tell my sister's and my Mother that a 12 Year old Male raped me when I was 7 Years old after our Daddy passed away when I was 6 and he died on my 1 and 1/2 Year Sister Macey's 5th Birthday! July 10th 1997 was when it happened he was smoking cigarettes and got lung cancer from all of that. And now I have a fear that Liam, Louis and Zayn are all gonna die from doing that too. Liam and Louis are both Father's with their Ex-Girlfriend/Ex-Fiance Liam and his Ex-Fiance Cheryl Son's name is Bear 🐻 And Louis and his Ex-Girlfriend Briana Jungwirth's Son's name is Freddie! (If I has an emoji that had Freddie Kruger) but it can be related to "Freddie Roscoe". 😢☹️😭💔 Plus BB and James both had physical abusive Fathers but my Sister's and I all had a physical abusive Mother when we were Children. My oldest half Sister Lindsey and mine Childhoods were so horrible back then Macey never was hit in the face, punched in the mouth or kicked in the stomach by our Mother! She was even being a terrible Wife to our Daddy too! BB deserved to get physically abused by his and Cheryl's Father but not James and thank God BB wasn't killed by his own Father!
It did win for Best Male Dramatic Performance for Adam Woodward and I believe Best Storyline.

Brody, you can't expect Ollie to report Buster to the police by himself when you weren't able to do that when you were around the same age as Ollie. Brody, you need to take the first step and be there for Ollie just like Ellie did for Holly.
EL Now that we have seen Brody tell Ollie and Ollie tell Brody, from a legal point of view that could weaken the case against Buster seriously, since both of those two and their explanations could be influenced by each other - making their claims vulnerable to charges of conspiracy to corrupt the course of justice by making false allegations. Ollie is a minor, so the chances of him being prosecuted is less. But Brody, should the fact that Brody and Ollie spoke to each other before they went to the police with the allegations, COULD risk himself being prosecuted for the above, instead of Buster for abuse.
After first having accused Scott, Ollie`s credibility identifying Buster as the photographer instead, would likely not be enough to charge Buster, should Buster deny he had taken the questionable photographs. Not to mention Ollie having named the wrong alleged abuser once, there is no guarantee he would be believed when he named Buster instead. And with both Ollie`s and Brody`s statements only to be supported by each other, the likelihood of charges even being made against Buster, could be few. The police could even start to look for other motives and culprits than Buster, suspecting Brody targeted Buster deliberately since as a former professional footballer Buster was fairly wealthy, and the motive for the false accusations therefore could be to raise false compensation claims for personal gain.
Had both of them gone to the police independently, the similarities in regard to what they had been exposed to, would have strengthened their independent claims of abuse. But should it be discovered they had spoken to each other before reporting the abuse, what otherwise would have strengthened and corroborated their independent claims, could instead have been suspected of being carefully fabricated false accusations. Should the police lean more towards the latter, Brody could be charged and convicted for attempting to corrupt the course of justice and making false accusations of sexual abuse. Ollie, because of his young age, likely would not have been charged nor prosecuted. But his credibility claiming to have been abused would have dropped significantly.
@@Tvjunkieful12 this is the reason why Brody and Ollie should have reported the police immediately after it happened rather than waiting several weeks or years later. They could have recorded his conversation with their cellphone or recorder. Like how did Brody and Ollie not think of this? Also, why didn't Maggie report Buster to the police before she divorced him? Maggie's and Brody's scenario reminds me of Marnie and James when she chose to cover up the abuse that James received from Mac from everyone including Ellie and Alfie until James couldn't take it anymore after bottling it up for several years. Given the circumstances right now, Brody and Ollie have a weak case against Buster, which means Buster might be able to get with everything that he did until he is caught red handed.
I hate Buster so much and I wish Luke punched Buster that much at the end of tonight's E4 episode I really hope Buster gets exactly what he deserves soon.

I really sincerely hope that this abuse storyline does not drag on as people watch this who have these problems as they may think they can keep silent and not break and keeping quite for long and that's the right thing to do!! I mean please don't let this storyline drag like when Milo killed the Cunningham's parent's.

Poppy Akers I never said keep quite I mean if someone who was suffering from the same situation watches this and sees Ollie and think I need to tell someone about this the storyline then has obviously done good for itself and helped someone. I meant I didn't want it to drag it was personal opinion of what I thought may happen ( it to drag and OLLIE keeps quite as obviously broadly had for so long) and what I don't want to happen ( for the storyline to drag.) To be honest I could have contextualized my wording in a better structure. I'm sorry if you read it and thought I meant something else.

This is heartbreaking. Knew that it would be Brody that would help him.
After seeing this video; I believe Aedan Duckworth, Nathan Sussex and Adam Woodward have done an excellent job portraying this storyline realistically and I hope they all win awards; it would be criminal if both they and the show loose out because this storyline has helped hundreds of people and they (the actors) deserve to be recognised for the achievement.

HO is the best. This was such a tough storyline and these actors portrayed their roles in it so well. I just wish that Luke was not such a negligent dad he could have helped Ollie way sooner. Buster is a bastard hope he gets taken down soon.

jeonmidoriya I 100% agree, I see people saying how they’re annoyed at Ollie for blaming Scott, and I don’t want to see Scott get hurt but when this type of stuff happens, they’re different stages, right now Ollie at the fear stage and going onto lying, at first he was in denial and soon he will have anger and finally some sort of closure.
It must be so hard to play a character as evil as buster especially as some people don’t know the difference between an actor and the character they are portraying so end up trolling them, hats off to this dude
This whole story line was incredible, except for one thing, Brody kept saying 'I can't do it by myself', 'no one will believe me'.
This implies that you wont be believed if you report alone. I was abused, I don't know anyone whose who went through it, does that mean I should just keep quiet, not say anything because I don't have anyone to back me up?

Wow wat a storyline. Great hollyoaks are showing awareness to this as this is wat is happening in every day life and i just hope it gives people who are victim to this type of abuse the courage to speak out.
Marnie has been heartbroken many times now. Mac, Sami (or Sammy) and if someone tells her about Buster... she'll be horrified. Most of her adult life has been heartbreaks.
The fact that anyone could think Scott of all people could be a pedo or something like that is just stupid. I mean look at him.
Can't believe that Ollie let Scott, an innocent man who just wanted to help Ollie when he saw him in distress, take the fall for Buster. Ollie misdirected his anger at Buster to Scott. Ollie should have told Luke and the police the truth so Buster can't victimized another innocent kid who wants to make it big. In fact, if Brody reported Buster in the first place, Ollie might not be in this predicament right now.
This is a lesson it's not just women that get touched it's men. Men get abused or sexually harassed ,manipulated also.

Never liked this show... I can't stand soaps, but this is quite an interesting storyline.
Don't think I can watch though... Too many memories and I don't like the idea of 'dramatisation' because the idea is to make it more 'exciting' or 'gripping'.
