Same I stopped watching it like 2 or 3 years ago mainly bc my mum stopped watching it lol but I love how it chose to get interesting after we stopped watching tho😭
He seems so messed up becuase of his past and it's not fair on chantelle. It's so sad when shes in the car and shes justifying his abuse by her behaviour.
Doesn’t excuse it when someone has a messed up past. I’ve have someone in my life who’s very close to me and they’ve been through utter hell with their parent seeing them go through awful things. Thank God they are safe now but it was very damaging. Doesn’t mean they have the excuse to do that.
You said he's messed up because of his past, but none of that matters. End of the day he chooses his actions regardless of what happened to him in the past.
Thank you to whoever put this together. I’ve seen all the scenes before bar one (red dress in the kitchen), yet this was hard to watch. This should be a lesson to all people in domestic abuse situations as I once was. The situation NEVER gets better, nor does it remain the same; it simply escalates. The more someone tolerates the behaviour, abusers see it as a green light to continue (you’ll put up with it) and get worse as you’ll put up with it no matter how bad. This build up of this story is great. The public charade of the ‘perfect’ couple; Gray’s charisma in public; Gray’s charisma when love bombing and bread-crumbing (putting the stained certificate in a frame); the blow ups; the loss of his sense of power and control leading to his sense of thinking the only way to regain it is to beat up his wife; the possibly well-intentioned sorrys which will always go around in circles unless professional help is sought (it rarely is); the CONSTANT gaslighting; Chantelle having been gaslit so much that she sought to blame herself for him breaking her arm; her pain and seeming humiliation when he lifted her top and exposed her badly bruised belly. If anyone’s watched this week’s episodes (week commencing 7/9/2020), they will notice how her spirit seemed to be broken when returning on the school run after he tried to almost drown her in the bath. Just awful. This is SO TRUE of abusers. They systematically break down their victims into submission, compliance and an inability to trust their own judgment. More people need to be jailed for it and for MUCH longer!
Very good idea putting relationships in a 50 minute video. Jogs our memories of what happened over the year. Teaches us about different topics. Abusive relationships, affairs, bullying, illnesses, addictions etc.
She looks like a queen, She acts like a queen, She needs to be treated like a queen, She is a queen. 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑 He looks likes a devil, He acts like a devil, He needs to be treated like a devil, He is a devil. 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
@Carl Stirling And Gray doesn't know how to control his emotions so he keeps having to take it out on Chantelle. THAT is not a good husband. Silly troll.
He was never happy for Chantelle. If any kind of attention was on her you could see it ate him up. So much anger and disgust in him. (Amazing characters, so sad she’s out of eastenders☹️)
Very well put together, these domestic abuse storylines need to be portrayed, was long overdue but glad they highlighted it eventually since the Trevor and little Mo one, so sad people go through this :'(
I hate the character of Gray Atkins but I love Toby Alexander Smith. He's nothing like that in real life he's actually a really lovely and sweet guy. He was even in tears on set having to play the beatings. Proves his talent as an actor. He also works for a charity for women who are victims of domestic violence that's why he chose to take on this role to raise awareness.
In real life Gray (Toby) made very sure Jessica ( Chantelle) was extremely safe during these scenes lots of crash mats and kept cutting after every scene to make sure she was OK. He's also a women aid ambassador and he said he's been in lots of tears after this abuse storyline. The reason we cry at this is because it happens in real life. So while we despise and want Gray we want caught and punished the actors Jessica and Toby have done fantastically well during this storyline ❤❤❤❤
gray is really lucky like he doesn't deserve to have chantelle she believes in him and does everything for him and all he does is cause her to have miscarriages and abuse her
It shows that there are crazy people like him around. At the moment, Gray is becoming obsessed with Whitney all of a sudden and that is just how a dangerous person can be
Reminds me of the documentary ‘killed by my boyfriend’ so tragic. It’s so easy for people to say ‘just leave’ but you aren’t in that situation so you have no idea how hard it is 😞😞🤍
All this put together in one is the most heartbreaking thing cried so much watching this . It should be shown in schools to show young women the affects of domestic violence. Great video
It depends on how much emotional damage that was done, before the violence started. They first start with that, so the victim spends most of the time second guessing how to stay safe. By then, the victim's self worth so damaged, getting out is second to staying alive!
The consistent and prolonged amount of abuse that Chantelle has to endure is perfectly in conjunction with what happens in real life. Both men and victim can be victims. But the victim can’t perceive that it could possibly be abuse due to the sheer amount of devotion they have to their lover in the moments they are nice to them. This is gaslighting and manipulative behaviour. Anyone fearing they could be on the receiving end of this should reach out to helplines or report.
people like him dont change even with therapy..you are hitting a goal if they ever even turn up for therapy..life with someone like him is like living on an knifesedge..good storyline..very realistic.
@Richard Jason timothy Damien personally I believe at a certain age your moulded I’m mean it will be hard to change. People like this want control over everything and will go out their way to gain it no matter who it hurts. They always play victim when in the wrong. The brain is wired differently
@Richard Jason timothy Damien they can’t, domestic abusers majority of the time hold narcissistic traits and mentality, even if you were to try change the person, they won’t be changing the actual type of person they are. The reason they can’t change is because their narcissism won’t allow them to, majority of the time they are so deluded they believe they are right in what they are doing and it’s justified, due to their high sense of entitlement. Look at when gray kills Tina and afterwards he says “I loved her, but she didn’t listen...”. They have a very fucked up sense of morality and that’s why they can’t change, it isn’t anything to do with anger issues, etc, he abuses because in his head he believes he has the right to do so if his high standards are never met(which will never be met).
@Richard Jason timothy Damien and more often, because of the type of person they are, when in therapy, they just manipulate the therapist whilst not telling the full story because in their heads their version is the truth and the only truth. Abusers are more conscious of what they are doing than it seems, Think about it like this as well, more often in domestic abuse it’s not just physical abuse, but more often emotional as well as physical. Remember where he rapes her when wanting to try for another child(sexual violence), and the time he watched her hold her breathe under water, man the guy even threatened to kill his own kids in their sleep due to Chantelle trying to leave. People like this just can’t change its inside of them, the rates of change with abusers are very very low.
Sadly people often take the side of the abusers. Too many victims are trapped in a situation that can cost them their lives. The scars of abuse are left to haunt
Typical example of a gaslighting, manipulative, jealous sociopath! So many people like him actually out there to, its good EastEnders really covered this storyline to bring awareness
Faith he did cause he was humiliated. But still no reason to do that. I think he just very protective and when she goes out he thinks it alright to gain that power over her which is really wrong.
@@chloeshiers no, he is a psycho that's why. A normal person would be ok even if they felt slightly embarrassed. Most people would just laugh along and play it cool. Worst case scenario maybe be a bit butt hurt and be passive aggressive later but that's about it.
Darkshadow if ur bf is humiliating by laughing and he was normal he wouldn’t hit you he’d simply have a conversation saying he was humiliated by u laughing and that he didn’t like it and he doesn’t want it to happen again not bloody hit you what a sick bastard Grey is
Yeah I think this storyline is going to continue for a while. It's likely he will get together with Whitney, she will start being abused and after a while turn to Mitch or Kheerat and tell them what's happening and that is how Gray will be brought down.
Having been through a domestic abuse relationship myself, this is exactly how it is and the abuser always leaves marks on your body that can be hidden, and the crocodile tears keep flowing its all about control, luckily me and my kids got from the situation but sadly like this shows a lot of people lose their lives
I'm sorry you went through that, I was in a domestic abuse relationship too, he was very much like gray, acted great in front of my family, hit me in places that would be seen. Finally got out, well done for getting out too ❤
Here’s how I think greys gonna get caught... If you remember one of the children woke up. They will say they heard the shouting. If police Persue idea of murder, they will see she rang kheerat frantically after leaving that voice mail. Phone records will indicate she did call him the times he says . They will check hospital records the nurse whole dealt with her cut hand will mention bruises. Then they will get an order for the therapist records. Also the will see how Chantelle broke her arm is not consistent with a trip on bottom of stairs. Also I reckon forensics will determine it was a push rather than a slip because of the distance travelled. “Grey Atkins we are arresting you for the murder of Chantelle Atkins” Whole square “👀👀👀👀🤭🤭🤭😮😮😮” Kheerat 😥 sigh of relief, grief and happiness
Just sobbed my way through this, even though I watched all the episodes it hit harder because it was a compilation of this and men and women go through this is real life. That breaks my heart.
This is narcissistic abuse…lots of emotional abuse, gaslightinging, stonewalling, silent treatment. I was in this for 11 years- it changesu and the trauma lasts years trying to make sense of it all.
@ honestly you might not catch it in the moment but love bombing is one. Another is that they may be arrogant and they may use you for their benefit, they lack empathy, and more.
So many women die each year due to violence and abuse in relationships. I feel more should be done as it’s becoming the norm for how women should be treated in this world. Makes me so angry. Love eastenders
@@namjesus3789 From what I witnessed and how western women are now it's the opposite of what you say. But either way I feel bad for both but women have more than enough support and there hardly isn't any for men.
This is better than the one with little Mo because of the secrecy around Gray and Chan. Everyone knew Trevor was a complete head case. But Chan caving saying it was her fault is a Smart but sad thing to do and admitting the truth to Gray about people being at the house. With Trevor... He was a pure psycho. But Gray is more of a sociopath that has some deeeeeep psychological problems! I don't even think HE understands it all. Cos he can be legit nice and then turn with a push of a button that gets pushed the wrong way... Both of them are SUCH AMAZING ACTORS though.
@@blahblahblah7716 Sorry always hey the two mixed up... Though I think Gray is a bit of both tbh. He's most definitely a narcissistic sociopsyhopath IMO for he, like many sociopathic people, will feel emotion... But only for themselves. They'll feel they're emotions are bigger and more important than anybody elses. I agree he is more psychopathic because he knows how to charm his way into and out of situations. He's incredibly calculating and does things without remorse... But it's a common theory that sociopathic people can't feel emotion... But they can. Not NEARLY as MUCH as others, but they are able to emote. Sociopath or "APD" are more times than not, trauma induced. Victims that keep holding the victim card when losing their ability to rationalise or when they "see red". Its usually because of trauma from their past/childhood. Psychopaths are argued to be born that way whether it be because of damage to the pre-frontal cortex which help us rationalise, feel empathy, fear, remorse and pain... Or due to significant brain damage due to head injuries in life. A sociopath is generally nurtured into being due to significant trauma during childhood which stifles the brain's capacity to grow up, adhere to the rights and wrongs etc. Not every trauma survivor will have urges to hurt others (usually it's directed at oneself) and whilst they may suffer with other disorders like BPD, DID, Chronic/Manic/Situational depression & anxiety, low self esteem, PTSD (which can bring on flashbacks/night terrors etc), bipolar, SAD etc... Most of these trauma induced disorders come along later in life. Most of our brains will be able to function with the knowledge, and have the capacity to understand the situations placed upon them earlier on in life (whilst the brain was still growing & absorbing & learning) as being wrong/bad and we are able to learn from what was done to us and not have the urge to do unto others as was done to us. We will learn to break the cycle so that we DON'T EVER do anything to hurt others because we'll understand how wrong it is. True sociopaths? Will hold onto that "victim" mentality and remain in that space of "I went through, had to deal with, suffered from/with this and you didn't", they'll be able to form relationships and there will be emotional attachments but they will be more about them than the person they claim to love. They will have a honeymoon period of everything being wonderful and almost over the top romance and taste of a brilliant life. But then the resentment surfaces etc like in the case with Gray.
it’s scary that I actually really liked his character when he first came on the show. Just goes to show you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. I have a feeling that Kheerat is gonna get blamed for Chantelle’s death as a lovers quarrel or something :/
He didn't just beat her he raped her too and controlled everything that she did and that's mental abuse...I know that his childhood wasn't great but that's no excuse for hitting his wife.
Such a tragic story. I grew up watching my mum go through this. I was just a little boy, who wanted to help her, but couldn't get the confidence to stand up to my dad for her. We all need to stand up for the people we love in this world 🌎❤
I had the same experience, me and my sister both grew up with my parents fighting and even multiple times I'd see my mum bloody on the floor. It was soul crushing
I'm so sorry to hear you and your mum went through that.. must have have been so hard to see as a child. But please don't say that you "couldn't get the confidence". You were a child, it was never about your level of confidence. It never should have been on you. I'm sure you were scared too.
Seeing Chantelle’s dad worry for her and get so close to the true, yet get put off by how well she lied was so heartbreaking, he so badly wanted to help her. Seeing how badly she wanted to tell her dad what was happening, but unable to go that final step to do so was so sad. She was so tethered to Grey she couldn’t get away. She deserved better than the death she got at the hands of a man who hated her.
I feel sorry for Chantelle, no one deserves to go through domestic violence but I just wish she went about things differently. She should have never stopped his counselling session. I feel like he was about to have a breakthrough and she stopped that, he needed to let it all out, to cry, to recognise that what he was doing was wrong, regardless of a traumatic childhood. She was too lenient and forgiving. I know it’s hard when you love someone but she should have asked for help. Instead of passively reinforcing his concept of verbal and physical abuse equating to love.
The scene where he storms towards her about to hit her but then remembers she’s pregnant and that’s the only reason he thinks is why he wouldn’t hit her anymore is horrifying!
Look at the time stamp 36:13 ... it was Gray who made Chantelle put the cutlery facing up in the dishwasher. EastEnders are so incredible and creative when it comes to continuity. I completely forgot about this comment Gray made but it explains so much and it’s ultimately another reason why she died.
Wow never noticed before but the scene at around 37 minutes where Gray tells Chantelle off for not putting the cutlery facing upwards in the dishwasher! Talk about foreshadowing. Kudos to the writers for that small detail that none of us would have noticed at the time.
I came to hear about this after I googled Jessica Plummer after seeing her on I'm a celebrity. It's an emotive storyline for sure, the manipulation of the abuser is real for some people. Domestic abuse is vile and any man who raises his hand to a woman is no man at all
It makes me feel sick he’s doing this. I hate this happens- still. Even at these times, my thoughts go out to all of you. Get out. Save your life. Put him/her away.
He knows exactly how to socialise, he uses social manipulation in every area of his life, he's a brief and he's an abusive husband. Everything he does is by choice.
After watching this storyline it hit home so much. My relationship at 16 was abusive it was my first relationship. I’d get beaten if I hung out with my friends. My social media’s got taken over and he blocked my family. He would use emotional blackmail and use suicide as an excuse to stop the breakup. I am so proud I was brave enough to escape it. Else I wouldn’t be here now. I’m glad this shared awareness ✨
I was in a relationship like this a few years ago and they've portrayed this really well. In all aspects of a relationship like this is toxic. Not just the physical beatings but also the mind games they play. Thankfully I got out when I could but the psychological damage will always be there
@@naaali4057 yes it is there definitely should be harsher penalties for someone that does this sort of thing to their partner. But thank you for your kind words
This is one of the most sensitive, accurate portrayals of domestic abuse I've seen. I have so much respect for the writers, producers, actors, and everyone else involved. All the small details from the way Chantelle walked on eggshells, using going to therapy, to the certificate, to the way everything unfolded afterwards; they did a phenomenal job of showing how these situations build. So much love to both actors- I can't imagine how many people were saved from these episodes
This story is well written and the actors are portraying the abuser and victim too a high standard, it's sad that Chantelle is killed, but it's not unusual that domestic violence ends this way, I Just hope that it helps a victim of any gender or sexuality to seek help and escape their abuser. Well done EastEnders again on an amazing storyline!!
Chantelle should have left this control freak ages ago he's taken full command of her life and what she does with her family and friends, she deserves so much better then Gray.
I cant imagine how Chantelle lays with him having the thoughts we are aware she has while his laying on top of her inflictin up on her unaware of the real inflications???....

Same I stopped watching it like 2 or 3 years ago mainly bc my mum stopped watching it lol but I love how it chose to get interesting after we stopped watching tho😭
Hello
He seems so messed up becuase of his past and it's not fair on chantelle. It's so sad when shes in the car and shes justifying his abuse by her behaviour.
Doesn’t excuse it when someone has a messed up past. I’ve have someone in my life who’s very close to me and they’ve been through utter hell with their parent seeing them go through awful things. Thank God they are safe now but it was very damaging. Doesn’t mean they have the excuse to do that.
Nothing that happened to him in the past justifies his behaviour.
@@Jess-3 Did I say it was?
@@bryanvasquez8975 you seemed to have literally ignored the last line!
You said he's messed up because of his past, but none of that matters. End of the day he chooses his actions regardless of what happened to him in the past.
chantelle has so much fun when he isn't around its unfair someone just needs to find out
Shes dead now
It’s so sad because he is taking advantage of her and using her and she is so caught up in it all that she doesn’t realise 🥺
🥺
Because she was too terrified to leave him.
She does, but she loved him so much but she was scared
Why chantelle one of the nicest characters in eastenders she deserves to be treated like a queen 👑❤️❤️

@Carl Stirling , yes she is.
IKR she seems like such a lovely girl
@Carl Stirling And Gray is a domestic abusing asshole
Wow…. I didn’t know that 😢
That’s the problem when you play roles like this, people can’t separate the character from the actor!
Yes hes a fantasic guy he hated playing the abuser
In real life Gray (Toby) made very sure Jessica ( Chantelle) was extremely safe during these scenes lots of crash mats and kept cutting after every scene to make sure she was OK. He's also a women aid ambassador and he said he's been in lots of tears after this abuse storyline. The reason we cry at this is because it happens in real life. So while we despise and want Gray we want caught and punished the actors Jessica and Toby have done fantastically well during this storyline ❤❤❤❤
Just hope he didn’t get too many abusive messages after this was filmed
@@Rebecca_Baileyyeah, the amount of people who can't separate a character from the person behind it boggles my mind
it's so sad how she goes through all of this just to die... she deserves better
Fr
gray is really lucky like he doesn't deserve to have chantelle she believes in him and does everything for him and all he does is cause her to have miscarriages and abuse her
One of the saddest parts is that none of her immediate family knew anything about what was happening until it was way too late 😔
OMG “cutlery facing up so it gets clean”... such a horrible foreshadowing 😞
It shows that there are crazy people like him around. At the moment, Gray is becoming obsessed with Whitney all of a sudden and that is just how a dangerous person can be
Reminds me of the documentary ‘killed by my boyfriend’ so tragic. It’s so easy for people to say ‘just leave’ but you aren’t in that situation so you have no idea how hard it is 😞😞🤍
people like gray make me sick..
Now that was horrible ! i saw that..
I do rather hath an idea about the situation.
All this put together in one is the most heartbreaking thing cried so much watching this . It should be shown in schools to show young women the affects of domestic violence. Great video
Chantal needed to dump him from the first hit press charges and everything.
It depends on how much emotional damage that was done, before the violence started. They first start with that, so the victim spends most of the time second guessing how to stay safe. By then, the victim's self worth so damaged, getting out is second to staying alive!
It's honestly not thag easy
@Richard Jason timothy Damien people like this don’t change
And if they do manage to go to therapy they don't utilise what they learn and they manipulate and lie further acting like everyone else is the problem
I hate gray he hit Chantelle because she was having a laugh
Cause she was laughing he wants to batter her?
Faith he did cause he was humiliated. But still no reason to do that. I think he just very protective and when she goes out he thinks it alright to gain that power over her which is really wrong.
@@chloeshiers no, he is a psycho that's why. A normal person would be ok even if they felt slightly embarrassed. Most people would just laugh along and play it cool. Worst case scenario maybe be a bit butt hurt and be passive aggressive later but that's about it.
Darkshadow if ur bf is humiliating by laughing and he was normal he wouldn’t hit you he’d simply have a conversation saying he was humiliated by u laughing and that he didn’t like it and he doesn’t want it to happen again not bloody hit you what a sick bastard Grey is
@@Samuel115s Gray must have got away with this behaviour at an early age.
If your significant other has hit you “only” once. please leave them because it can and will happen again.
He did. I feel it’s my fault though
@@msingh9634 Even if you did the worst thing or said the stupidest thing, it does not give him a right to raise his hand towards you.
Hate to say this, but this is how narcissists work. If EE stay true to life, Whitney would be a 'perfect' next victim for Gray.
Yeah I think this storyline is going to continue for a while. It's likely he will get together with Whitney, she will start being abused and after a while turn to Mitch or Kheerat and tell them what's happening and that is how Gray will be brought down.
I wish she had told her dad the whole truth!
Having been through a domestic abuse relationship myself, this is exactly how it is and the abuser always leaves marks on your body that can be hidden, and the crocodile tears keep flowing its all about control, luckily me and my kids got from the situation but sadly like this shows a lot of people lose their lives
I'm sorry you went through that. Thank god you got out
I’m so sorry you had to go through that, but good for you for getting out! 💕
“Grey Atkins we are arresting you for the murder of Chantelle Atkins”
Whole square “👀👀👀👀🤭🤭🤭😮😮😮”
Kheerat 😥 sigh of relief, grief and happiness
I hope so cuz even know he still gotten away with it
Gray should be locked up and punished for life. Such a heartbreaking 💔 story. Feel sorry for Chantelle.
R.I.P Chantelle you were loved & cherished by your family Gray never deserved you ❤
She died knowing he didn’t love her :( that’s so sad :(
Just sobbed my way through this, even though I watched all the episodes it hit harder because it was a compilation of this and men and women go through this is real life. That breaks my heart.
This is narcissistic abuse…lots of emotional abuse, gaslightinging, stonewalling, silent treatment. I was in this for 11 years- it changesu and the trauma lasts years trying to make sense of it all.
Out of a narcissistic relationship for a few months and I felt this to my core
Curious. I hope you don't mind my question. what were the first warning signs?
@ honestly you might not catch it in the moment but love bombing is one. Another is that they may be arrogant and they may use you for their benefit, they lack empathy, and more.
OMG me realising that Chantelle was pushed onto the sharp end of the knife because Gray told her to face the cutlery up or it doesn't get clean...
He acts like he changed and acts normal and then hits her again its so sad to see i have seen my own mother go through it
So many women die each year due to violence and abuse in relationships. I feel more should be done as it’s becoming the norm for how women should be treated in this world. Makes me so angry. Love eastenders
Yeah it's horrible but I feel more bad for men who go through abuse because they're not taken seriously as female victims.
@@frankuduma5264 there is no feeling bad "more" for anyone. It's supposed to be equal or you're messed up.
@@namjesus3789 If you had any idea how much male victims are blamed and even arrested for being abused then you would rethink what you're saying
@@frankuduma5264 that happens to males, agreed! But statistics also prove females are abused more. So shouldn't you be feeling bad for both equally?
@@namjesus3789 From what I witnessed and how western women are now it's the opposite of what you say. But either way I feel bad for both but women have more than enough support and there hardly isn't any for men.
This is so accurate a slow progression- it’s wild how we protect our abusers , the fear of making them angry
He’s not a sociopath because all of the things he does is fuelled by emotion and sociopaths do what they do because of their lack of emotion.
@@blahblahblah7716 Agreed, but I think it's poor writing and not clear what he is
@@blahblahblah7716 Sorry always hey the two mixed up...
It’s scary to think people will be going through this on a day to day basis
it’s scary that I actually really liked his character when he first came on the show. Just goes to show you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. I have a feeling that Kheerat is gonna get blamed for Chantelle’s death as a lovers quarrel or something :/
I just need to know when Gray is killed off or Chantelle gets some sense of self worth to leave him. Enough is enough.
They’ve just announced he’s going to murder her
it's happening soon , Chantelle is getting killed off ):
Well💔
He didn't just beat her he raped her too and controlled everything that she did and that's mental abuse...I know that his childhood wasn't great but that's no excuse for hitting his wife.
Brilliant acting from all cast
The sad part is she was so nice to him and to everyone
Such a tragic story. I grew up watching my mum go through this. I was just a little boy, who wanted to help her, but couldn't get the confidence to stand up to my dad for her. We all need to stand up for the people we love in this world 🌎❤
😪😪so sad! Sorry to hear this!
I had the same experience, me and my sister both grew up with my parents fighting and even multiple times I'd see my mum bloody on the floor. It was soul crushing
Me too
I'm so sorry to hear you and your mum went through that.. must have have been so hard to see as a child.
Oh Chantelle - so heartbreaking. Please if this is you, please get out. No one deserves treatment like this.
This story has been going on for about a year now, I can't wait for someone to just find out, and give Gray the beating he deserves for it.
same! its annoying that its so long but then its more real because of the situtations that do last this long
She gets killed by gray
Molly Murray what
Georgia 521 yep. She’s died now
I came to hear about this after I googled Jessica Plummer after seeing her on I'm a celebrity. It's an emotive storyline for sure, the manipulation of the abuser is real for some people. Domestic abuse is vile and any man who raises his hand to a woman is no man at all
It's horrible indeed. Even a woman who raises her hand on a man is no lady either. Domestic violence is wrong. Nobody deserves it male or female.
It makes me feel sick he’s doing this. I hate this happens- still. Even at these times, my thoughts go out to all of you. Get out. Save your life. Put him/her away.

Gray reminds me of Paul Spector, but it’s just the appearance and villainy. Very different characters.
I don’t watch this show but this story line really did break my heart.
This story line was written and acted well, good on EastEnders for showing this
Bless her heart when she said do u just not want me to talk for a bit. Great acting from bothn
Some people in the comments are so ignorant. Gray is an abuser!! Chantelle is a victim!! How hard is it to get that through your thick heads?
Chantelle should have left this control freak ages ago he's taken full command of her life and what she does with her family and friends, she deserves so much better then Gray.
Great storyline, hopefully the post-lockdown episodes will develop it further. Congratulations to the two lead actors!
This is so gripping because so often it happens and is hidden so well. Sad truth.
One of the saddest things ive ever watched
I cant imagine how Chantelle lays with him having the thoughts we are aware she has while his laying on top of her inflictin up on her unaware of the real inflications???....
This makes me so sick like how could anyone do this to someone who loves them.
