Also if u purchase do it close to the end of the month dealers are more willing to lower the price to meet their quota on that month. For brand new car wait a month the following year to purchase.
Thanks for the video, it was comprehensive, detailed and reliable. The price of a repossessed car is important but not having any warranty and ability to test drive the car makes me hesitant to choose and bid on a car sitting in a warehouse for months if not years. I am glad it all worked out for you. I suggest having an update on your car ownership 3 years to let us know if you have no regrets.
A STRAIGHT simple tip to people thats looking to buy 2nd hand car. You can consider this IF and ONLY IF you have a TRUSTED MECHANIC that can honestly evaluate the current condition of the car especially the engine. dont ever get in a trap of going to repair shop in a monthly basis burning 5 digit money just to keep it running
This video is great! Very informative. I had a Mitsubishi Lancer 97 that was given to me by my parents back in 2005. It was a 2nd hand, I had it towed back in 2009 along the North Expressway around Valenzuela area. There was something wrong (kumatok yung makina) as what the mechanic explained. It was a Manual Transmission. Back in 2012, I decided to have it sold since there was a car racer who was really into my car, he wanted to buy it for a higher price. The Lancer was well taken cared of. I even had it repainted in 2008 when I graduated and the mag wheels have also been changed before I had it repainted. Then after selling it for 200k, I decided if I would buy something 2nd hand, Repo or Brand New car. I ended up buying a brand new Accent 2012. Wonder I came up with it? I thought of what I had been through owning a 2nd hand car. Yes, I didn't have to pay for the monthly amortization and insurance but maintenance was very meticulous especially after towing it along the Expressway. Then the Accent lasted until this 2020. A friend needed a 2nd hand car. He wanted to buy my car and I realized ang baba ko pala nabenta for again, 200k coz that was my friend's budget. He needed to have a car coz it's pandemic and he cannot afford to commute from Bulacan to Pampanga for work, everyday. Then I decided to get a brand new Xpander again. This time it's an Automatic Transmission. My Tip: The reason I decided to go for brand new cars in 2012 and 2020 is because of one thing. I use my car everyday. Owning a 2nd hand car or a Repo car is very much okay but, I told myself to save myself from the hustle of being towed again. 😁 Also, before buying a car, make sure you are financially ready. No matter how much you need it or want it, do not get into the responsibility of owning one if you cannot maintain it. Sometimes it's better to wait. Save up first, let that be your goal, your focus on how you will become a more disciplined person by working hard for it. Who knows? The money you have by then may already be enough to pay for at least half of the price of the car when you are very much ready to own either a brand new or a slightly used car. In my case, I just committed myself into paying for everything that comes along with the responsibility of owning a car. It's like raising a child or taking care of a dear pet. That's how I take care of my vehicle. 😊
@@CharmdeLeon Actually, it will really depend on the budget. If kaya mo mag brand new, that is for the convenience and assurance that the car is really at its best quality and condition. But if the budget can only really fit a repo or a 2nd hand, why not go for it? After all, that's the role of a mechanic, to hire them and let them assess for us if we decide for a more practical car. And buying a car is really something that is really for necessity and not to show off. Mas maganda pa ding investment ang jewelry and residential houses or vacant lots. At least, their value get higher as they get older. 😊 Thanks for complimenting. ❤️
Buy a car within your limits brand new or second hand. For starters a young second hand vehicle is a good deal say 2-3 years old car is good as brand new. Once you save enough to buy your dream car then you can sell your old car and buy the brand new. Keep your money with you, the amount of money that goes to the bank for profit from car loans are just mind blowing.
Automatic is good on gas when ur driving in traffic road daily. To check ur new repo car u need to test drive it if they won’t let u then find another dealer. Remember ur spending 1000’s it’s the least u could do make sure it’s good. Check the oil make sure it’s oil not milky or metal, check the transmission oil make sure it’s nice and pink if it’s dark and smells burn then u don’t want it. Check for suspension push the hood and back down and make sure it’s stiff and bounce back and not bouncy.
Loved your video! We just got our second-hand car just last week for just 355k php-it’s a 2013 Altis 1.6G. The mileage is already pretty high, but it still kinda looks and feels brand new. I had it serviced in the casa for 15k, and then I bought a dashcam for 5k. Including other expenses, the running total is 390k
The problem with repossessed cars or second hand cars that was not mentioned is you won't get the full warranty. But if it's like a ten year old car, you don't need a warranty. If you are buying a used car, ask if you can have the car loaned to you for at least a few days so a mechanic car look at it. If they don't let you do this, not a good dealer. Also buying used you can look at a Carfax report but it won't show you if it has a salvage title or if it was in an accident for the last 6 months. I'm not saying don't buy used, just that there are negatives about buying used cars.
Been watching some of your vlogs already. I must say their strength lies in the details you put into. I’m impressed on how much detail you put into your videos. Good job! I appreciate your work. Keep it up!

I’m from Cebu and the price you bought the vios for was already a very good deal! I was thinking of buying from used car sellers but after seeing this I might consider repo cars instead 😁

Im not quite interested on the newer ones as of now, thus I might end up keeping mine til it gives me a headache (mechanically). Hey, thanks for this video. Am actually considering in checking for repo since i left my car in luzon and i need a car to use here in Mindanao. But my problem is that i cannot pay for it in cash, and the only way i can is to get it through a loan. This helps me a lot since most of my friends are totally clueless with this. If only i have known of this before, i should've just considered getting a repo than brand new. Daghanv salamat
Not bad info the only difference is that manual is a good gas saver highways not busy congested traffic u burn gas a lot more If u get a truck or Suv make sure u get a V6 or In-line 6 saves better gas
not only gas saver as you said, manual is low maintenance and cheap to repair, automatic is convenient and good when its brandnew but automatic is expensive in repair.
In my opinion. Buying a 2nd hand car with lesser price is just like buying any other things with lesser life span. Good example is the phone. And for a brandnew car, in case you're not going to sell it, you can use it up to 10-15 yrs but for a 5 yr old 2nd hand car you could just eventually use it up for another 5-10 more yrs. The amount you spent is almost the same. But you cannot tell the hidden problems that will arise once you have bought the 2nd hand car. The repairs would add up to the total cost. Not in all cases but most of the time.
If u hav extra fund....better to buy a brand new car esp if u r d only one driving it or just for family use. U wont hav any headaches for 5-10 yrs or even more. Thats from our own experience.
Ico G. That’s true but in my experience also driving a 2nd hand car for 2 years now, I don’t have any problems so far (just make sure you maintain it well, too). I think there is some luck and due diligence involved in buying a 2nd hand/repossessed car, but p150,000 is quite big also as an extra fund to have hehe

@@TheCanopyAirResidencesMakatiboth of my cars came from online bid in security bank, they offered very low milage repo close to being brand new and very low bidding prices, just be careful and examine the units if there are bumps ,dents.. @@TheCanopyAirResidencesMakatiboth of my cars came from online bid in security bank, they offered very low milage repo close to being brand new and very low bidding prices, just be careful and examine the units if there are bumps ,dents.. Also you will be the one responsible for the transfer of ownership. From the bank to your name.
I got my 2019 Strada for just 850K with 10Km odo
And 2020 honda city for 520k with just 4k odo.
Imagine just 1.3M I got two cars.
Thanks Jin. nasa magkano pag pa transfer ownership kung SUV like monty/fortuner

Even in US i always preferred second, people don't seem to understand the fact that they are wasting more money buying new car just to boast their ego.
Very helpful! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
