I'm somewhat surprised that Jake and Eldridge at least understood why all the hard drives started malfunctioning. Probably their brightest moment in this entire episode.
As much as TAAHM episodes with Ashton are definitely inferior to the Charlie Sheen ones (the series was running on fumes by the end), my favorite things was Jake and Eldritch - like Dumb and Dumber for tv.
Jake: thanks for everything uncle Charlie. Charlie: if you end up married only for your wife to kick you out a few years later, I sure as hell would welcome you with open arms. Alan: you didn’t welcome me with open arms. Jake: try not to kill my dad. Charlie: I can’t promise something I can’t keep
That definitely doesn't happen anymore. Even with the conflicts in Iraq and Afg., the size of the military is much smaller. I can't see either of them passing the ASVAB (that's the entrance exam) to get in.
I understand Walden losing it with Alan after that incident, but I'm surprised he didn't lose it with Judith as well for forcing Alan into asking him to let Jake work in his company. Besides, his legal team has more juice than Judith's lawyer.
That was a different storyline. When Judith and Alan had trouble getting Jake to study or even listen to them, they threatened to send him to military school (Berta did as well). The threat worked at first until Jake realized they didn't have the money to send him. Here it's not going to military school, it's enlisting in the US Army. (Btw, the reason he did is because the Judge threatened to send both Jake and Eldridge to jail otherwise.)
That age joke is funny but in Basic Training we actually did have a recruit in our division who was 40 years old. Some of the instructors liked to joke how for once they weren't the oldest in the room.
Alan asked Walden if he would get Jake a job at his company but Walden thought it was a bad idea because Jake is a idiot but gave him a shot and he also gave Eldridge a job but the screwed it up
Pretty much grunt work. Everytime the red light went on they would replace the hard drive. (Alan begged Walden to give Jake any kind of job - much to Walden's dismay - and then Lindsey got him to also give Eldrich a job too).
Well Jake could cook. Even Evelyn saw that he had talent. (Unfortunately, that episode he ended up setting the kitchen on fire and they never brought it up again.)
Yeah this was back when Angus Young wanted to leave the show (he became a evangelical Christian and didn't like the tone of the show). Something must have changed, however, because he came back, even though they still made Jake a douche (like when he slept with a mother and her daughter (played by Emily Osment, who is now on Young Sheldon as George's wife and is going to be in the YS spinoff about George and Emily.))
40,000 hours isn’t all that much for those likely 10 terabyte or more industrial hard drives. Even if it was one gig per hour, it would take up a single drive at most. If it was 10 gigs per hour, it would take up like 5 drives.
Because apparently no one on the show had any actual idea about the modern army. (For example, neither Jake nor Eldritch would ever score anywhere near the minimum on the ASVAB to get into the Army.)
You are supposed to pack some stuff for your self when you get shipped to Basic, athletic shoes, underwear, only the bare minimum stuff and basic sanitary stuff, no cologne or anything that could in theory be used as a weapon or electronics, although I heard they're allowing cell phones now so you might be able to take your phone but there is a pack list of stuff you need to take with you.
@@CalebRWXbox Really? When did this become a thing? When I went, it was with the clothes on my back... which were then put into a box and shipped home, that first night.
All of this is according when I wanted to join the national guard, National Guard might do things slightly differently then the full time Army or any other branches but in the US National Guard FAQs, there's a question on what somebody should pack and there's a full list of things you should bring with you
“Wikipedia, it’s not just for term papers”? Jake, Wikipedia is not credible for any term papers. Many instructors don’t allow their students to use Wikipedia
This shows the army scrapes the bottom of the barrel. There’s a help wanted sign RIGHT THERE at the food court and then the army recruiting guy asks Jake and Eldridge “hey guys. Did I hear you need jobs?” He does the same thing to a couple guys asking “hey guys. Do you like video games?” I take it Eldridge dies since he never appeared again in this show after this episode.
That hasn't been the situation for some time. The Army has much lower numbers than before and they are a lot more picky. Neither Jake nor Eldridge would score close to the minimum on the ASVAB entrance exam to even get in. As for Eldridge, his character was written off because Angus Young wanted to leave the show - he became a born-again Christian and didn't want to play Jake anymore. Graham Patrick Martin, the actor who played Eldridge, got cast in the series Major Crimes with a main role and was unavailable.
Unless you're drinking, I could understand watching porn with another guy in the room, but this was like the best job anyone can do getting paid $10 a hour (at the time) to just play video games and switch hard drive every once in a while this proves why Jake needed to leave the show and disown by Alan who failed as a father and a man without a back bone and weak willed
No, Angus Jones left the show because he became a born-again Christian and didn't like being on the show, so they wrote this storyline. (He even released a video telling people who watched TAAHM not to watch the show again). But I guess he had a change of heart because he returned for the last season.
I'm somewhat surprised that Jake and Eldridge at least understood why all the hard drives started malfunctioning. Probably their brightest moment in this entire episode.
In their entire teenage careers on this show.
This one was good, but my favorite Jake and Eldridge moments are the Human Volcano and the million dollar idea of Pre-dipped chips
As much as TAAHM episodes with Ashton are definitely inferior to the Charlie Sheen ones (the series was running on fumes by the end), my favorite things was Jake and Eldritch - like Dumb and Dumber for tv.
… In less than a minute, Jake and Eldridge completely destroyed a *very* expensive computer. I can’t decide whether I’m shocked or impressed?
😂😂😂
Schockiert oder Beeindruckt - Wieso nicht beides?
I’m not surprised and laughed a lot
The minute Jake announced that he and Eldridge joined the U.S. Army, I felt so sorry for the army.

Jake and Eldridge? Then i really felt sorry for the U.S. army.@@ashleybrown5382

I cried so hard at the flashback scenes of Jake when he goes to the Army!
Same here! Little Jake was so precious! 😢
Alan had no need to worry. There's a place for just about everyone in the Army, even dipsticks like Jake.
Yup, ended in the kitchen 😂

That is 1 of the most jacked up beret's I've ever seen. I know they can't use an accurate depiction of military uniforms, but damn.
The fact the recruiter is wearing his beret wrong and wearing it indoors really grinds my gears
The fact that people think you can join the military by signing some papers at the mall is hilarious.
``i KNOW YOU THINK THAT``JAJAJA PRICELESS
Jake in the army. What's the worst that could happen?
… Did you hear that sentence?
Even Alan wasn't really all that concerned that Jake would die in the Army. His biggest concern was that Jake would destroy the world.
He could leave a loaded gun in a car seat, and cause someone to shoot themselves in the behind.
Depends on which side he is on😂😂😂😂😂
For him, the army, or their enemies?
I loved this episode of season 9. One of the few I liked since Charlie died

The recruiter really should have listened to Alan.
They don't listen they're just concerned with their quotas. Recruiters are worse than used car salesmen...

There was a lot of potential for a spin-off here. Jake and Eldridge could've been extremely-stupid Gomer Pyles who drive their DI absolutely insane.
I understand Walden losing it with Alan after that incident, but I'm surprised he didn't lose it with Judith as well for forcing Alan into asking him to let Jake work in his company. Besides, his legal team has more juice than Judith's lawyer.
Actually Walden did not want to say yes. It was Billy his partner who thought it would be a good idea.
I've heard Jake is going to Military School, that's terrible, he can't go to the Military School.

Jake "an idiot" would be a perfect business major.... Go figure....
For once I actually felt bad for Judith 😢
... Believe it or not Jake learned to be a chef in the Army it might not have been a bad thing to go to the army
Well Jake could cook. Even Evelyn saw that he had talent. (Unfortunately, that episode he ended up setting the kitchen on fire and they never brought it up again.)
This show is just a tragic farce without Charlie.
I agree - but I will say I did enjoy the Jake and Eldritch moments.
Yeah but this was 1 of the few decent episodes with Ashton Cutcher.
Netflix now!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jake that old. How long before he leaves or is this the excuse they use for him to leave?
He becomes a video chat character for a while and some chick joins as the "half men".
