I had the exact same problem with the Warden out of the box. Top left plunger tube failed to catch. Good to see you continuing to make something useful out of the 2.0 line.
Ya know when a repair video is 26 minutes long that Hasbro really screwed up something. Most blasters can be opened in a couple of minutes, and this one took...I don't even know how long!
the largest nerf blaster i took apart was a nerf rival saturn, took 5 minutes to open max, this piece of garbage id throw in the bin or return immediately if it broke that easily
It's not so much a matter of being worth it or not really. I know that a lot of people have ended up with this thing, and I felt I should try to be as helpful as I could.
@@danielprobert4546 so do a lot of blasters. The fact that not even the trigger has a spring (uses plastic leaf springs) is a major issue in showing the cheap corner cutting, poor quality control and really lack of consumer consideration that not just this blaster, but the whole elite 2.0 series displays
This design is so bad, whole idea of this product is just wrong. It was clearly made not for customers but just to make excel numbers looking good for the board and stockholders. And that's sad truth behind it. I understand cutting cost but there has to be some line somewhere which shouldn't be crossed... Hasbro pushed it to the limit this time, watching this was so exhausting, definitely I won't buy anything from 2.0 line.
@@projectnerf7920 Absolutely, visual design is all right and after first pictures I was about to get phoenix and turbine, but literally everything within this line, whole idea behind it is just wrong.
It's designed as a cheap, disposable toy. Most Nerf blasters are used by kids, who often move on to new things after a short period anyway. If it get a year of regular use, it's good value. If it breaks before then, it gets replaced under warranty. The cost involved in repairing it would be more than the blaster costs. Using loads more screws just complicates production. The problem isn't the design of the mechanism per se, it's one of the manufacturing tolerances being a fraction out on one of the production lines. It can easily happen with mass production of plastics that are moulded or extruded. And it's easily rectified too.
I had a weird dream where I had a Warden and wanted to modify it. I expected massive difficulty, but it literally came apart like a normal blaster with the screws missing. After I put it back together, the Warden's priming mechanism snapped (quite violently too).
The exacto knife is exactly what I would've used to open one of these up. I don't have one yet, but if it's at the thrift store it's always going to be broken.
My son bought a Warden today from a thrift store. He excitedly brought it home and showed it to me...One side doesn't fire. I asked if he tested it first. Nope. He just wanted a "shotgun". Funny thing, the same side the tech was working on is the side that doesn't work on our. I'll see what happens after we try to repair it.
All of the clips remind me of a modern electronic device. I know when repairing an ipod the process is similarly obnoxious, with having to force tools in a seam to help open it up. The comparison to apple goes deeper than that, given that they're trying to sell difficult-to-repair products off of a well-known brand name.
Just got my Warden today. $5, still in the packaging. This is the only blaster I've bought without researching, being as it was super cheap. Saved this video just in case. 😉
Thanks for this. It’s nice to see Wardens getting a fair chance at revival for those that can’t afford Roughcuts. The newer models seem to be fine though with kinks more worked out but good to see what I have to do if I decide to get dedicated to mine and work on it
Thank u for this video, so I have the warden and it was great I guess about 1 year passed by and it's still haven't been broken and 1 day it broke my mom couldn't buy me a new 1 because I have 5 blasters and I got to my bed and go for TH-cam and I found this thank u so much for this video it fixed!!
Lol, my friend , I half expect that myself. If you saw my Turbine mod guide, I stabbed myself in the finger with a screw driver. Had to stop filming and get a band aid.
19:30 I have to ask what peice of plastic did you add form what and how did you do it and did it hold up? It is nice to see what my malfunctioning warden looks like inside and why only one side fires. that x-acto helped. the warden is a nice-looking blaster. walmart's site said it's an exclusive has to be part of the issue for cheaping out that backfired on them. otherwise their rival and n-strike elite exclusives I haven't heard bad things about. the full auto Nerf Elite 2.0 Turbine CS-18 might have been also. after seeing walcom's classic warden(s) video I was very careful with mine becasue I like the double stage firing. but now it only shoots the left side. an old orange & white roughcut I bought is worn so it doesn't always double stage fire. it has more of a chance from the bottom two or loading only one set of them. never the top. but the build is more solid than the warden. after a while I'm sure all those springs inside weaken.
Lord Jesus. God bless you for doing what no one else wants to..and doing it well. Ill try the turbine(your video again was awesone) but ill pass on the warden probably. Thank you your videos are always a great help.
Yo Man thank you so much for having so much trouble with that thing. I had the same problem, thing is that I opted to put a screw to increase the range of the "holder". I'm almost done :) thanks!!!!!
Thank you Chris!!! I was able to properly fix my own Warden. The screw served just as well, and I believe it's more suited for rough use in the long term. So grateful man :) keep the hard work
Bro, is that how Hasbro does triggers these days? Just stress out the plastic every time you pull the trigger and let it snap after a long period of time? I remember back in the days when I was modding the original Elite blasters, the triggers were backed up by metal springs. Did Roughcut have the same structure?
As fragile as the internals are, I’d be scared to try to do much. Especially with those goofy plastic springs on the trigger and catch. Maybe halfway brassing the barrels would help some, but I really question if the blaster is worth the extra effort.
I honestly love the aesthetics of Warden which I thought had more detail and edgy than Roughcut, but because of many negative reviews I'm still holding myself from buying it. Seeing your mod makes me consider getting it and do this mod to fix that minor fault by myself, but I need to get those prying tools first.
It's a tough blaster to work with, like all the Elite 2.0 line, but it can be done. I would still grab the Roughcut over the Warden personally, even though I do like the cosmetics of the warden better.
Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. As far as the full auto tommy gun goes, that would be a ton of work, on the DG. I, personally would just do the cosmetic work on a Tommy 20, to get the desired effect.
Honestly the Warden is one of the worst modern nerf guns made yet, it unbelievable how nerf just seems to not care about their performance guns as of late.
That's an inexcusible amount of difficulty to take apart what is ostensibly a child's toy, particularly when compared to the industry standard, which is hasbro's own products.
See how this man opens up an Elite 2.0 blaster!
