I made a Riddari for my husband in January! It turned out sooo beautiful! He loves it and just you wait until you get to that colorwork....SO MUCH FUN! I couldn’t stop!
Thanks for the walk it was fantastic. Landscape like that always makes me think of movies like Weathering Heights or The Secret Garden. l luv your knitting and dyeing segments, I have gotten some many ideas for funky socks. Hi from upstate N.Y. 🥰
I 've been binge watching your podcast and just love you both. Stitched by Mrs. D was singing your praises so this is the way I discovered you. Blessings and hugs from your new subscriber .·:·*·:·.
I really enjoyed Kay´s description of her design process. I think we sometimes think designing is just up to talent, when there is actually a lot of trial and error work to get it exactly right before sharing it. And what a great way to learn how to knit socks. I live in a hot climate, so I don´t often wear socks. This would be a great way for me to learn how to make socks. By the time I finish, maybe I will enjoy it enough to make socks for some people I know who live in cooler climates.
You two are the most “down to earth” ,practical couple I’ve watched on you tube. Love you guys. Right now I’m knitting your twinkle sock ,Kay. It’s beautiful! Wish I could insert pictures on your you tube channel, to show how pretty it is. Thank you for your video❤️
Dan, thank you so much for these beautiful walks and all the information you provide. I so appreciate the time you take to provide these adventures to those of us who can’t access these amazing places. 😊❤️
Such a beautiful walk! Feels like we are walking right with you. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!! Thank you so much for your hard work in bringing us along!! Superb!!
The scenery in walking the moors is so beautiful. I so love watching those walks. Kay, I have a circular sock machine coming. I ordered it back in December from Erlbacher and because they are custom made for each customer. Mine is being shipped Monday the 29th so I am on pins & needles for its arrival. And, yes you can do heels on these machines. Lots of online videos for assistance.
I know I´m way late for this but I have IBS too and I eat a diet called FODMAP where I cut out gluten not for the glutenpart but for other oligosackarids that also exists where the gluten is in the grains. Spelt is generally better tolerated by people with IBS but not the full grain. The diet is a way to identify what groups of sackarids is causing trouble and once I know that I can eat more varied. My big nono is leeks, onions and garlic which is sad since I love it. Just check it out if you´re interested and still have troubles. You have saved me this christmas - sitting alone for various reasons and you have kept me company, thanks for that! Love, Cam.
Goose bump moments...lapwing bird. cairn and nap so awesome. Dan. your narrative. and camera work is of such quality I would pay to watch it. Oh wait patreon.
A super big bee in early spring will likely be a queen. I would freak out at the spider! One time while driving I noticed a spider on my rear view mirror. I gave it the usual "If you leave me alone you can stay" speech and it started moving towards me. My head had just nudged into a string it had ran from my headrest to the mirror that it was walking along. It kept getting closer and I am trying not to crash while I try to swat it away from me. The Catelli gluten-free pasta is quite nice. Oh my goodness - that lapwing has the cutest call!
My cousin is Celiac and she says ancient grains in small quantities are tolerable for her on occasion. She suggested to me, stone milled flour and possibly oats. Not usually offered in regular grocery stores but here in Canada we have specialty stores, Bulk Barns or Bulk Zones where I've found it.
Yup, spider. Crashed into a tree over a tiny little spider. So macho. (Mail knitter her.). I enjoy your show, especially the walks. Such beauty. Stone walls are awsome.
“Grease” was actually a stage musical before it was a movie. It was based on a group of teenagers from the north side of Chicago in the 50’s. The original musical was a bit grittier than the movie.
This time last year, when there was a pasta shortage, Sainsburys substituted my pasta order with 6 bags of spelt pasta.....it did NOT go down well with my kids!
Thank you so much your lovely videos. I've been watching for a while but rarely comment because a lot of the time i'm watching on my television while ironing or knitting, which doesn't allow for commenting. I'm absolutely loving going on these walks with you Dan. In all the years i've been knitting, i've never made a pair of socks (shock horror). Kay, I am thinking of starting with your Vanilla Cream pattern, would that be a good place for me to begin? I'm confident with knitting gloves and mittens so i'm hoping that will help a little :-)
I can’t have even the smallest trace of gluten. I tried for so long to find a decent pasta. Finally I found 100% brown rice pasta (I like the Jovial brand) is delicious. My family can’t tell the difference from regular pasta. It’s great for spaghetti, Mac n cheese, lasagna, and so much more.
The northern lapwig is called kieviet in Dutch. The flying he was doing is probably the distracting it does for people not to find it's eggs. In the Netherlands there has been a race for decades to find the first "kievitsei", it's egg. It is no longer allowed because of the disturbance it causes for the birds.
I just love watching your videos and wish I could afford to be a Patreon, I’ve been looking for the beautiful cable blanket pattern I seen you make last year, could you tell me where I can purchase the pattern, x
Hello :-) I love your podcast. I also can`t tolerate eating too much gluten products. Did you try pasta made of red lentils, peas or chickpeas? I like it.
Dan, you inspired me to make the #teljasweater by Jen Steingass with lettlopi, used black for the body and no issues with breaking. Wearing it every day, still cold here in Connecticut. 💗
If you want to taste a gluten free pasta that's indistinguishable from the real thing try Healthy Noodle healthynoodle.com/products. Not sure if it can be shipped to the UK, but it's a treat for me since I'm on a strictly ketogenic diet. There's also hearts of palm fashioned into pasta, like Palmini www.amazon.co.uk/Palmini-Pasta-Carbs-Shark-grams/dp/B079T9R4RP. Haven't tried the hearts of palm, but I've heard it's good.
You mentioned (last week, I think) Simnel Cake..I don’t know if you follow Tasting History, but his latest episode is on making, and the history of the cake ❤️ th-cam.com/video/n7T5abyBiUg/w-d-xo.html
I am allergic to wheat and I was told that spelt was too closely related for me to risk. I have been purchasing Tinkyada pasta, which is brown rice and water. It's okay for immediate eating, but as far as saving leftovers or freezing goes, it doesn't hold its shape well. In fact, I've taken leftovers and heated them up into a patty of sorts because it all kind of separates. It's definitely not ideal, but for someone like me with multiple allergies, it's okay.
Absolutely love Walking the Moors, so well seamed together with my favorite craft...thank you!

Hi from upstate N.Y. 🥰
The lapwing's colours would make a beautiful colourway!
Thank you for another great podcast

Watching while working this morning. Beautiful countryside! Can't wait until ours is as green as yours. Thank you!

With the broken socks you can frog it and use if for the filling in toys or even reuse ♻️

I use ChiaGoo red lace needles with a tiny 6" cable. No magic loop, which I hate. So finiky.
Love the TWIST Lace needles kit!
I'm hooked on your videos, thank you!!x
OMGoodness ... Dan's face when you asked where the 3rd sleeve was! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the little green sock is perfect.
I absolutely loved your show especially your walk 😍❤️
I love the Ezekiel frozen English muffins.......ancient grains and delicious! Arleen Miller
So far for gluten free, I’ve found pasta made of lentils to be the best tasting and texture. Can’t wait to heard your review of the spelt.

You should sell that mini sock pattern. That would be very popular for advent knitting!
The bird was fantastic Dan!
Thanks so much Lisa! 😘
I don’t knit but I just have to watch to watch you and Kay, Dan I love walking the moors

Very excited about the sweet little sock bunting
This time last year, when there was a pasta shortage, Sainsburys substituted my pasta order with 6 bags of spelt pasta.....it did NOT go down well with my kids!
My mom used to buy spelt gnocchi, and it wasn't bad! I think it was Aurora brand, but I can't remember for sure.
Fabulous 💕
More you will wash & wear 100% wool sweater it gets a bit softer as the fiber inside felts and you will have a smoother surface
I have to bit the bullitt and learn how to knit and the sock looks great
Thank you Dan for sharing your walk with us.....Kristen R.

I think it will encourage others to walk the moors for the beauty

That Northern Lapwing sounds a bit like R2D2.

At first glance, I thought the sheep were boulders.

watch Jeff Goldblum (sp?) in The Fly...yikes! Also my dog went a little crazy when the Northern Lapwing was calling lol.
Hello :-)

Wow 😳 Dan so beautiful and interesting
Oh my...those Sherwood Socks are BEAUTIFUL! Will they ever be available for purchase for those who cannot be a patron?
I don’t have plans to release it for purchase I’m afraid 💖
The little sock looks baby size. Is it?
What is the piano music @ Walking The Moors?
Created for the show by Dan’s brother Dom
I never knew how The Aviator brought OCD to light.
