    Yup New Street sure is haunted. I got warned of that when I worked there. I have seen a spirit there, long before I knew of New Street's reputation for being haunted. Unfortunately New Street's reputation for attracting suicides has been abused by managers who claimed staff members had saved people from committing suicide (in recent years). None of this is true, it was all just PR. But the tunnels under New Street (staff tunnels, not for public access) are something else - I wouldn't want to be alone down there! I was down there only once or twice and there were workmen hanging around as that was when the station got rebuilt in 2015. At least I hope they were workmen... wouldn't fancy being there alone, not at all!

      I used to live in Brum, before the refurbishment, and frequently used New Street. Being disabled I'd use the lifts, some platforms I'd need to go down, through tunnel, then up to concourse (upper) level; that tunnel always gave me the heebies, several times I've felt someone touch my arm, but I was alone.

    In my country, there's a really haunted locomotive, with the number BB 301 27, that is maybe good for one of your videos.
    The haunting begins when two train driver is fighting in one of the cab of the 2-cab locomotive. They fight until one of them was pushed to the locomotive's ventilation system, and literally DECAPITATING him. Not long after that, the other train driver commits suicide in the locomotive's cab.
    Since then, the locomotive was extremely haunted. There are many reports about paranormal sighting in the cab, the door that can close itself in a calm day, even the locomotive can run itself without a driver and causing crashes.
    Not just that, even one time the locomotive can disappear, and somehow ended up in other station along with the reports of the locomotive running with no one inside it.
    And the locomotive is now sitting in a scrapyard, with its condition makes it looks even scarier.

    New street is my second main station & use it frequently. One night in 2018 on platform 4 I was waiting to get a train back home to Walsall after a day of plane spotting at the airport. As I was waiting a guy in a 1920s outfit stood next to me. Thinking wow this guy peaky blinders costume looks awesome I tried to get my camera phone out an was going as ask if I could take a photo of him. But after 10 second of getting out my phone he was gone. At the time I thought nothing of it. Until I got home and thought there was no way he would of walked off to the escalators on either side of the platform without me noticing. So I was like shit this is the second ghost I have seen. Ever since then been keeping an eye incase he reappears. I am also into disasters and I am aware of several fatal train accidents in New Street & other areas of the West Midlands.

    There is another abandoned Jewish cemetery just out of New Street. It's the other side of Islaington Row from Five Ways Station, wedged between the Cross-city line and the old spur that ran to Gas Street. Totally overgrown, until a few years ago you could actually gain access to it but not now. The headstones are interesting, as they have inscriptions in both English and Jewish/Hebrew, with dates showing both ways of calculating the years - AD ('Common era') and the Jewish way - I think it dates from the reestablishment of the Temple. If I'm wrong, can a Jewish reader enlighten me, please?

      Jewish years begin with the supposed date of the biblical creation(genesis). So the current Jewish year is 5783, as it has been that many years since creation according to Jewish theology.

    New streets full of ghost stories as I mentioned on a previous video I was told about the tunnel’s and shown the entrance to them during my princes trust course with Intertrain and because I’m catching the train to and from my local station Chester road I’ve frequently found myself on platform four in the early mornings between 6am and 7am from September of last year right up to February 4th of this year I may not believe as much in ghosts but being in new street just makes me feel off especially those tunnels I wasn’t told the exact story behind them but I felt something drawing me into it when I was shown them and it’s peeked my interest in trying to find out what exactly happened there or the story behind them especially the Mail tunnel

    • @LittleKitty22
      @LittleKitty22 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah you are from Chester Road - why platform 4 though, the Cross City trains usually depart from platform 8 or 9 and on arrival they usually go into platform 12?

    • @Erika_Banba

      @@Erika_Banba Must have been when it's very busy, if there's a late runner and trains are piling up in the bottleneck outside New Street, they put them into any platform. For the passengers this means quickly running across the station! I hate it when they do that.

    Still think you should do the Virginia Church Hill tunnel accident of the train and bodies of workers who worked on the tunnel being buried alive after the tunnel collapsed during rebuilding construction. The tunnel was closed off for good after the accident. To this day the train and the bodies of the people who were buried alive are still there. People who have went and visited the tunnel will spot ghosts of the workers there. Since the tunnel is built under a town. A lot of town folk who have their homes built above the tunnel can sometimes hear the streaking moans of men from their homes coming from the tunnel. There is even said that a vampire is also seen near the sight of the tunnel. A lot of fun stories on this case if you do a video on it.

    I fear it was more WW2 that did for New Street- my dad has a print of it how it was and i never twigged it was the Same Station, lovely train shed but very dilapidated with bits missing in the 50's, same with lots of stations, you'd think it was planned or somthing...
