A laundry basket or "" granny cart"" those plastic foldable " milk crates" basically foldable container, lightweight on wheels , then a theme of say laundry basics, unscented, roll quarters of they use laundry, laundry bags to put small items so less reaching into a washer or dryer, all contained in one! Those dryer balls , in kitchen a hi end dish soap that blue one instead of them needing to use $ store, if you buy one that takes a refill. Grab the 1 st refill ! If using dryer rack in sink it is hard to find the smaller ones if you have a small sink in an apartment or sinks in mobile homes can be smaller too ! Nice set of the silicone covers or new storage dishes in single serving stackable design. Kind that fridge, freeze, microwave or oven, do it all! The small serving sizes of say coffee or tea if they don't drink but may have occasional company in that does. I"ll be honest a pretty basket, yes used is fine!! Couple nice cotton dish towels , cuz they soak up then can be washed, also grab to use as a pot holder. A fantastic jar of the fancy full fruit jam or orange marmalade, fancy flavored teas or coffee, the fancy breads such as cinnamon swirl , or fancy English muffins, bagels & topping .. of course not all in the basket¡ These are the extras that are enjoyed often not bought due to cost. Nice jar honey or the fruit such as blueberry syrup for pancakes . Bedroom nice throw in face color , set or sheets, bath, new non slip rug or mat for in or out of the tub. Beloved body product from past such as Jergans, noxema, Jean na'te all as loved today as yesterday .. ! Simple look, listen, easy talk about what's out there today, how housekeeping has changed ! It is surprising what brings back memories for people . Good from a simpler time. I worked with, help many elders that pure white, unstained clothing was so important. These women would use fresh lemons, borax boil clothes on the stove, hang in the sun! Table cloths, drapes! Yes, Cray crossed my mind but in learning their pride was showing off their housekeeping skills! For them a great safe! Stain remover ! I'm stuck in my house unless a doc appt so stamps, pretty blank cards . Yes many items that are " consumed" may not sound gifty but mean the world to someone who can't get out, then even if we do, not going to bother someone with a special trip.
They really are aren't they. My beautiful grandma lived to be 105 😱 And, on her 100th birthday, as well as a telegram from Queen Elizabeth, many people in our village made her a hamper. So much thought went into it...she cried happy tears. She was born in 1907, so they put in a brand of tea called 1907 ...her name was Violet...so there was a box of violet creams...and so on . I made her a little scrapbook. I had a photograph of her wedding cake, which my grandad had made.... They didn't have a wedding photographer, so I don't know who took the pic of the cake (priorities 🤣) I also contacted relatives and one of them came up trumps with photos of my grandad from when he was in his early 20s and an apprentice baker. My Grandma had never seen those particular photographs before. I thoroughly enjoyed making it for her. I often found her looking through it. I have it now, as she died in 2012 . I miss her so much. Gosh, I didn't mean to write such a lengthy comment, but I hope somebody might like to read it. God bless all in Sherry's little TH-cam community. May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day and Christmas. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Sherry, I’m not sure if they are still coated but we use to make candles in paper milk cartons. We cut the tops off the carton to whatever height we wanted. Melt your wax. Place in the wick hanging from a pencil. Then put some crushed up ice cubes to about marble size in the box. Pour in hot wax to however tall you want. When the ice melts pour out water; you have a lacy candle. You can spread some whipped wax on for snow and or sprinkle crystal glitter on. You can use red or green glitter too or red or green wax. We loved those candles when we were children; they looked magical to us.
Had to giggle with the box clock - now instead of you looking for clocks, they're finding you! As usual, I loved everything. My favorites are the candles.
Sherry all your creations are made with so much love, care and thoughtfulness! Just adore everything. The clock is beautiful and the baskets are gorgeous. I’m sure your new daughter-in- law realizes she has the best mother-in-law❤️
I love the jar of jam with the snow man on the top you come up with some wonderful ideas. May you and all your family have a wonderful safe Holiday Season. Looking forward to your 2025 videos.❤😊
You have such great vision! I love how you look at something like the lamp & re-imagine what would have otherwise gone to the landfill. Very inspiring! All of your gifts will be so special to their recipients. Congrats to your son & new wife…how exciting!

Sherry, you are the quintessential DIY Genius! Every project, every creation is unique, personal and thoughtful. Thank you for these wonderful gift ideas. Congratulations to your son and his future bride on their nuptials.
That jewelry holder out of an old lamp is the best idea I’ve seen in a long idea. How clever are you sweetie. Thanks so much I’m definitely going to be on the hunt in thrift stores to make that
I love the lamp idea for the earring holder. I like it with the bulb in because you can see the earrings better but the brass door knob sure was impressive.
Your kids must be so proud and happy to have you in their lives. Their gifts are wonderful. All of your creations are beautiful, but my favorite is the clock. Makes me emotional just to think about receiving such a meaningful gift... Thank you for sharing with us.🥰❤
Phenomenal inspiration as usual! Please continue to do what you do! Thrifting and gifting are my passion. I'm getting ready to retire from teaching at the end of this school year after 34 years and this is what I can't wait to do in my newly reorganized, updated extra bedroom that will be "my sanctuary art/ peaceful place" to hang out! Loved all of your projects. Joy of Cooking was my first cookbook in '73. Imagine my dismay when my mother's banana bread recipe had been edited out! I thrift new looking soap dishes to pair with my homemade soaps for gift baskets.

I noticed your earrings immediately because, as a snow lover, I know that metal snowflake earrings get caught in long hair - you have the perfect solution!
Hey, Sherry, a quick way to get tissue paper ready for the printer is to run a line of glue stick around the edge of printer paper and attach the tissue paper to that. If the tissue paper is wrinkled use a dry iron to smooth. Thanks for all the great ideas you share with everyone. ❤️
Another great way to personalize Dollar Tree glasses is to use glass etching cream. You can use ready made stencils, or create your own design with your Cricut. My daughter did this with glass mugs for each family member for Christmas a few years ago. Mine was a sketch of my dog, my son the chef had kitchen tools, etc. It was easy and fun
With older folks who have everything they need, consumable gifts are appreciated.
you right i dont know what to buy to my parents cause they have all tehy need so now we buy good food and make pretty gift boxes

😂 I'm thinking your soap and towel set is mis-priced@CanterburyCottage
Love the candles
Hey, Sherry, a quick way to get tissue paper ready for the printer is to run a line of glue stick around the edge of printer paper and attach the tissue paper to that. If the tissue paper is wrinkled use a dry iron to smooth. Thanks for all the great ideas you share with everyone. ❤️
Thanks so much for this tip, Pattie!

Oh, what a great idea! I love the idea of an etching of a family pet!
Happy Wedding and Congratulations! These gifts are all so thoughtful. My kids appreciate thrifted items too. 😊
Thank you!! 😊
