100% the right decision. Competitiveness in the market has bought prices down and some will struggle to justify Solar Edge. I would certainly be one of them. With Tier 1 companies still offering 25year or even 30year warranties most will struggle to justify the premium cost, and risk even a part failure which will still be cheaper to replace than an initial full premium install. Most people care about return and they'll be seeing that much quicker with a 'cheaper' system with similar warranties. Its the Apple/Android or Waitrose/Aldi argument. They'll be some that are happy to pay a premium in the full knowledge its the best but also understand theres similar out there for less that does the same.

If I was younger ...and didn't live in a terrace ...I'd have you install a system here tomorrow. CLASS ACT..good luck . Told my brother all about you, as he very interested in a system.

Sorry to hear its been tough but companies like yours with good reputations and quality of workmanship will survive, very worrying the unqualified competitors such as double glazing companies are getting involved with something as technical and complex as solar PV and home battery installations...

Thank you for the comment! I have no worries that we will survive it as we have a true passion for the industry and are small enough to be flexible. We are entering a sketchy era for renewables and I feel sorry for many others out there that have worked hard to build businesses that are at threat now. Competition is fine and good for the market, but when it gets flooded it becomes hard for consumers to determine quality companies from ones that are looking to make a quick buck. It will be an interesting few years to see how all this plays out. I have a feeling we are entering feed in tariff era part 2 😂. Thanks again for the kind words 👊

@@OvalRenewables Diversifying into heat pumps would be a good compliment to your PV and battery business but of course requires plumbing expertise.

Plumber based in Oxford here 👋
Have followed you from the start and feel out values align. If you make the move into ashp’s installations I’d be up for a chat.

I remember the days of FIT running out - 2011. Clint Eastwood companies were everywhere in my county. So really dodgy installs. Looking for a battery and solar system next year I'll be using a well established company with plenty of track record. Keep up the good work 👍

The average householder is skint, hence they will always ask how much per month (just like a car on PCP) on finance = Octopus et al., those who are slightly more affluent will tend to do it themselves via local traders. 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂- We slightly disagree with solar edge - as victron / pylontech more that suits ones needs, and we have a comminity / manufacturer to resolve any challenges.

Sadly I think the days are very much numbered for smaller Electrical Contractors being able to make any money out of solar installations it won't be long before big companies swamp the market being able to buy the kit in bulk much cheaper than a small contractor can Non electricians who are trained in a process will be installing the stuff with one person in the company certifying the work Most customers are driven by price and the cheapest is king and most not all don't see the value in a smaller company doing the work
