I love it how Paul McCartney is so used to holding an instrument, that when he sings without one, he doesn't know where to put his hands hahahah greatest musician ever
For those of you talking about Paul's performance, his sweetheart Linda had recently passed on, he was still in pain and deep grief. Yet he stood up and did his thing. I always admired Paul for keeping on keeping on, do you know what I mean? He's had his share of sadness in that life. When he was inducted that day, he said this: "It's brilliant/sad, of course, because, yeah, I would like my baby to share this with me. She wanted this. But it's beautiful, you know, she's beautiful, it's all beautiful, and we're cool. I love rock & roll. I love Cleveland, 'cause Cleveland gave me Linda's mom, she was from Cleveland. And I love New York, 'cause New York gave me Linda. So I want to say to you all, thank you very, very much, and this one's for you, baby."
RosarioNahu In an interview, Paul wrote this song because he had a dream of his mother saying 'Let it be' to ease him because he had troubles at that time.

I cry every time lm brought back to this video, cos of the story behind it. Paul had a love/hate relationship with the H of F. This performance is at his solo induction which should have been yrs earlier. They chose to give it to him just after he had lost his precious wife. He told them he wouldn’t perform, so didn’t do a warm up with them. He had had a bit to drink, and decided to join them on stage. So bloody emotional for all there. Their love and respect for him is oozing out. Human beings at their best!!! Such a special video.
Growing up in the 50's and 60's, it was only the Beatles who saved me from an adolescence of depression. I wanted them to go on for ever. I love them all and their music. And 'Let It be' was my most favourite composition. The Beatles will live in my heart for the rest of my days. Thank you so much, guys. xxxx
Never seen Macca singing without playing any instrument. This is the first time and it is so strange. It also made me realise what a true legend he is: singing isn't easy at all but when you are also playing it gets 10 times harder.
@@JamesHamp93 He's a great example too, especially with how conversational and free-flowing his singing was. So difficult to separate your mouth from your hands!
exactly - Bass players have it much harder imho - especially when the meter for the melody is different than the bass beat - and Paul's bass lines are not your typical basslines. You will notice that when he sings he will often swing his head to the melody if the bass line is different - my guess is that it is his way of keeping it straight. That's not fair to a talented musician. Robbie Robertson has played so well for so long. I can remember being in the audience for the Last Waltz concert at Winterland in '76. He and Clapton traded some great licks on Further On Up the Road. I suggest you listen to that and rethink any disparaging remarks about Robbie. True, Clapton blew it away with his solos, but then again, he is CLAPTON! Robbie was asked to do his part in this particular show, & he did. Hard to compete with Billy Joel, Clapton, Raitt, & THE MAN himself, Sir Paul. Note that Robbie's amp volume should have been up much more. His solo was not isolated properly.
The song is about his mother named Mary (who died when he was only 14) showed up in a dream. Telling him he should just 'let it be'. He grabbed his pencil in the morning and just wrote down those words of his mother and that became the song. This is what Mc Cartney told years later about the origin of this song. When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. And when the broken hearted people Living in the world agree, There will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is Still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be. Yeah There will be an answer, let it be. And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me, Shine on until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. There will be an answer, let it be. Paul is a master musician, and what a voice
Amazing, 50 years ago the Beatles performed this song. During this pandemic this song is so applicable. Globally we are single minded on finding a way to eliminate COVID-19. Thank you for this song and encouraging us to finding "words of wisdom" and that "there is a light that shines on until tomorrow and there will be an answer...let it be, let it be..." Thank you for showing us that collaboration (not fighting) is the key to our world's success.

Omg - we have McCartney, Springsteen, Clapton and a whole bunch of other fantastic British musicians.
Deus nos deu Paul eterno. E eu sou feliz por ele está aqui, soltando a sua voz para alegria de toda mais uma geração que queria essa lenda eterna
Beautiful and calm song this is epic
"THERE WILL BE AN ANSWER"

GROUP OF MUSICIANS
PREFORMING "LET IT BE" CELEBRATING
A GREAT MOMENT IN TIME TOGETHER 🙏💗☀️
Hermoso tema que nunca pasara de moda !!! Simplemente lo mejor
And Robbie Robertson one of the greats in my opinion ever seen the Last Waltz etc etc🤔👍👏
The combined number of albums sold by those on the stage is more than the entire world's population.
Wow ... that was absolutely *historic*.
Paul's voice sounds as good as it did 50 years ago.
Liked the hug with Bruce at the end.❤️

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
Paul is a pioneer and you cant win against a pioneer. Just respect
If Paul was to watch me like that while soloing a guitar, I would get a frostbite and sunstroke at the same time
You know you are a "somebody" when you can get Eric Clapton and Billy Joel to play with you !!
Magnificent Performance! How could it not be?
