I love seeing people getting excited about their hobbies. These videos have been so much fun watching. I get the wanting to dig for stuff feeling. Nothing better then digging in a bit of stuff because you never know what you will find. Each new bin is a new chance. I recently got into collecting Pistols over the last 3 years and down near us there are gun shows almost every weekend. I take my dad and love seeing him get excited. Its just fun. Cant wait to see the new content. Stay awesome!

Watching this video series has inspired me to take a LOT more money on my next trip to Tokyo...which is hopefully going to be in October...had to cancel our trip planned for March 2020...stupid pandemic. (We're also going to Osaka, which has it's own Otaku area called Nipponbashi Otaku road...pretty stoked). I remember it being like 85 freaking degrees in that Shibuya Mandarake shop.
I just bought a pretty expensive Bootleg Korean Thunder Cats figure (vintage of course) and just as collectors say the time to buy it is when u see it otherwise if it's that rare your probably never see another one ever. Love the Garloo.

Excellent series of vids. The whole segment of this vid involving the Great Garloo was hilarious! Did you see many toys or memorabilia in general related to the 1998 Godzilla movie starring Matthew Broderick during your toy hunting in Tokyo? I have a large collection revolving around that movie and would make a trip out to Tokyo if they have enough of the aforementioned memorabilia available out there.

Love your vids. I scored a near intact Garloo (only the felt pads are missing) in its box from Mandarake's website a few years back. Just one minor thing triggering my OCD: Ultraseven is NOT called "Ultraman Seven" except on forged documents by Sumpote Sands of Thailand.

i do love the shinbuya mandrake, but nakano broadway has a book store or did in 2014 where they had alot of cool japanese art books and obscure stuff they scalp you for hundreds of dollars on american ebay, there was also a poster store that was cool. all i remember about akihabara was i got a clear trex zoid on clearance in the box for like 40 bucks. japan is so great that they keep things from their grandparents childhoods like tin robots and quirky western stuff like spiderman and batman, where in america its so common to have that stuff filling landfills. I dont know why parents feel the need to sell off or get rid of some treasured toy you have some when you were 5 years old. chances are if its hidden in a closet way at the back wrapped up in bags and foam its something you want to keep safe, but here comes grandma who wants to let the homeless psychic she met in a classified ad sell your childhood off for speed or crack, or mom just wants another shelf for her collection of cat clocks and your priceless original collection of comic art goes in the recycling bin. i got to the point where i just cut people off. if thats how little things you trust them to keep safe mean, miss me when its time to pay for your live in nurse.

Japanese DVD's are Region 2 but they are NTSC and not PAL :P
i remember i found a cool flaming lips shirt in harijuku, had a south vietnamese soldier holding up a severed head. it was like 2800 yen, (about 28 dollars american) so i say, "I dont have my wallet, going back to hotel, keep this aside for me" and these scoundrels added a new tag that was 38000 yen, so it went from 28 us, to 380 dollars. so you know, im really a tagger and i walk around with spray paint and glass etch so i declared war on their store untill they went out of business due to consistant vandalism. which once i started the locals and foriegn vistors escalated. to fucking up their shirts with tags and kicking door in at night. other cool thing i remember was somebody gave rhianna a gold paint marker and she legit was tagging up stores after i made it cool. i love japan but be careful when you try to scheme a dude who has no problem busting spray paint out in front of the owner and rocking a 6 foot tag in side a shop or knocking a register off the table and stomping it over a tshirt.

Well the Mandarake stores are like any other chain store, they sell second hand items but would be no more likely to give you a bundle deal than a Wallmart would.
Is Great Garloo THAT rare? I see two on Ebay right now, one with a box.

@@slimehousetv I guess it's all relative. Compared to other things, Garloo seems easier to get. Great work, and yeah, I'm watching a number of toy videos in anticipation of going back to Tokyo for Super Fest (and store shopping) after a 26 year hiatus. LOL

I do not Unfortunately, but toycon is once a year, that is once a year and always plenty of kaiju and sofubi there, it's on for two days, it an amazing event. If you search my videos I have a documentary I made where I created my own madball toy and took it to toycon so you can see some shots of it there
