Hello and welcome to BOAB Models - today we will build a replica of the Rover Mini Cooper driven by Jean Claude Andruet and 'Biche' at the 1995 Rallye Monte Carlo. Many Minis were entered into the rally in the mid-90s in tribute to the cars which won in the 1960s, such as Paddy Hopkirk's 33 EJB which celebrated 60 years in 2024.
A big thank you to David Hunter at DH Modelworx for sending me this kit!
The Mini is a small, two-door, four-seat car, developed as ADO15, and produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors, from 1959 through 2000. Minus a brief hiatus, original Minis were built for four decades and sold during six, from the last year of the 1950s into the last year of the 20th century, over a single generation, as fastbacks, estates, and convertibles.

Amazing those toy car tires fit so well, nice save.
I got really lucky as I didn't know what I would have done otherwise
Great build. Love those Minis
Glad you liked it, Samuel. Thank you!
Outstanding as usual, love the upgrades you did on this to customize it. Classic little cooper you've got for your collection there. Cheers from across the big pond; thanks for sharing your work as always.
Thanks so much, mate. I'd been planning this one for a while so I'm glad I finally did it!
End result is really great! Excellent job Thomas
Thanks so much, Richard. This was a long time in the planning
Fantastic job, Thomas! Especially on the left hand drive conversion. I love the old Mini. Do you think it's worth spending the extra to get a Hasegawa kit? I had a lot of trouble masking the roof on my 1/43 Monte Carlo build and had to repaint it because of bleed-through so the separate roof part would be very welcome.
As an aside, how much time do you think filming adds to how long it takes you to build a model? It always takes me ages even though I'm not recording (or particularly good at painting haha)
Thanks very much! From what I've seen, the Hasegawa one seems to have crisper details than the Fujimi, a separate roof and some extra decals like the chrome strip on the window surrounds. If you want to do the roof a different colour it might make a big difference. I was given this kit before the Hasegawa was even released.
As for filming, good question. I don't record every single moment as it would be brutal on my phone memory and also make the editing take longer. At the end of this, I had 1 hour 20 mins of footage which obviously took me that and longer to edit down to around 20 mins. I then did voiceover and then watched it again to add the 'Did you knows' and music.
I would say the editing took maybe 4 hours?
The length of editing is why I prefer kits that don't take a million years as well!
Thomas you killed it brother 🙌 she's a awesome build ❤😊
Thanks so much, Shawn. Really appreciate it!
hello thank you for this fascinating video. how many hours did it take you?
Merci beaucoup! I think it took 15-20 hours. I have made 4 Minis now and 1 New Mini.
I will give you a little advice, man. Trimm the decals before you apply them on the model. Greetings from Ukraine!
Very nice build! Gotta Love a Mini! ...I still have my full sized one! 😀
Many thanks! I'd love to own a Mini myself - my mum talks fondly of the one her parents had in the '60s.
