Hii mam!! I grow my plants as u provide the information in your videos and they come out very good and healthy looking plant, so thank u
Hi, I am happy to hear that the videos are helping you. Your welcome! Carrie
Help a lot
I might just run them under water until the coating comes off. I've never had a problem with regular seeds, and this coating seems to make things more difficult, and more expensive.
Some seeds are that tiny that if you do that you will loose your seeds.
Exactly,, planting pelleted seeds are so hectic
Hi Carrie! I have been looking at your videos for the past hour and came across this one posted today, 20 Nov 2020. I love Begonias and buy them every year from the Garden Center which can get pretty pricey so I have decided to grow my own...nothing else to do since this COVID is around. Not sure where to begin, what type of begonia seeds I should start out with, and what equipment is needed and should I start now to be ready for spring planting. Any information to you can provide I would truly appreciate it. Oh, I love your videos!!
Hi Thersesa, Thank you! I recommend this playlist that I did for growing begonias from seed Titled: How To Grow Begonias From Seed To Bloom I did different playlists on starting begonias from seed but the one I recommended I think will be the best one for you. It depends on where you live for when you plant them. I agree they are very expensive to buy in the stores, that is why I started growing mine from seed. For varieties: non stop begonias are my favorite, funky pink, the sun cities collection " I have videos on my channel for them", bosnova begonias are really good. If I think of any more I will let you know. I hope they grow well for you!!! Carrie
@@carriesgardeningchannel856 Thanks Carrie for responding and answering my questions and providing recommendations. I live in Virginia, right outside of D.C. (MDW). I love the look of the Wax Red Begonia Semperflorens as well as the white. I plant them in front of my home every year in alternating colors (i.e., white, red, white, red...) and as they grow they are absolutely gorgeous. I usually plant anywhere from 30 to 40 containers. I plan to order the seeds today however, since I am a beginner I need to know the right equipment I will need (i.e. lighting, containers, etc) based on what I have seen on your playlists. Can you recommend a site where I can purchase the equipment. I don't want to start until I have everything. Also, if this is helpful I live in Zone 7b.
Your welcome. Your design sounds beautiful! Wax begonias don't take that long to bloom. I will see about doing a video for the equipment that you will need, I will try to get it done next week. Yes knowing what growing zone you are in helps me a lot. I did do a playlist for starting wax begonias from seed on my channel too. Where are you going to get your seeds from? Pelleted seeds are a lot easier to work with then the dust like seeds of begonias.
@@carriesgardeningchannel856 Carrie, again thanks for responding. I have checked out three sites online, Swallowtail Garden Seeds, Harris Seeds, and Outside Pride which all have pelleted seeds for the wax begonias. I have not yet ordered, I prefer to have your recommendations of where I should order from. I want to make sure I get a good batch. I also read online the best time to start growing the seeds for my Zone is mid to late January. I also found a beginners kit on Gardeners.com. It's the LED Stack-n-Grow Base Unit Garden Starter Kit (pretty pricey for a starter kit) but interesting and great reviews. However, before I order I want to wait for your video showing the type of equipment you use. Standing by.....
I got my seeds for wax begonias from Swallowtail Garden Seeds.
Hello Carrie, I also live in PA. Do you have a FB page?
