I do think that a couple of additional set options for Takomo would help the market penetration, 4-pw is not for everyone, particularly with the 101 and 101 t for high handicappers. High handicappers will never hit a 4 iron or probably even a 5 iron.
I just ordered 202s. I customized them to my fitting specs of 3⁰ upright and +1/2" long. Finding the customization page was a bit of work, but it is there. Takoma really should update their website to make finding the customization pages for the irons easier to find. Lead time is a bit disappointing, but for saving nearly half the price of name brands, I can wait.
Hey Chris, what about the Takomo 201s? I am an 18hcp and moved from the PXG 0211 XCOR2 Irons to the Takomo 201s and lost no distance with much improved dispersion. The 201s seem to be the red headed step child that gets overlooked, but it's an excellent iron, comparable to the 101Ts with a little more workability for those of us who have to hit around obstacles after our tee shots.
I just ordered a set of 201s. I used their online fitting recommendation. I play to about a 10. Hope I like them as much as you do. I think the idea of forgiveness is overrated to be honest.
@@paulmcgee1867I customized the set I just ordered. 3⁰ upright and +1/2" long. The options of shafts was practical with KB shafts and even 6 graphite options. Plenty of options available. To be fair, you have to do a bit of searching to get to the customization pages on their site, but it is there.
Takomo only sells 4-PW sets. I would be interested in 7i-GW, and possibly a SW. I have replaced the 4, 5, 6 irons with 3, 4, 5 hybrids to make the game easier. I could buy the heads and then have them fitted but that involves another process.

Well done Chris I do like more traditional lofts
The problem I have with takomo is the custom side of it. I don't see where the savings are if you have to change the shafts in them.
They can sell heads I think but there’s never a fitting option. Just a lot of marketing 😂
