- Magnus Samuelson vs Phil Martin. Torfi Olafsson withdrew after the first event as he was experiencing a muscular problem in his chest. Nathan Jones withdrew after breaking his arm in an arm wrestling match against Magnus Samuelsson.

Magnus Samuelsson rules no doubt about it!!! He has won the worlds strongest man competition many times and those times he didn´t won he still laid on the top 5. So Magnus Samuelsson is DA MAN!!!

@nojokenygren also calves are probably the hardest spot on the body to gain mass. much of it is genetic.

These were the good ol' days of WSM.... when it was produced by BBC. Paul Dickenson was the BEST strongman commentator.
Since ESPN took over in 1997, the production of this contest has gone for a huge dump. Todd Harris is absolutely terrible, and his constant mispronunciation of names is embarrassing. Kaz is simply ok. His knowledge is second to none, but everything he says just sounds too scripted.
They also jam every contest with as many Americans as they can. It's so ridiculous.
