I knew this guy. He came through a conveiance store I worked at once. When he held his hand out for the change, it looked like a bowl made by the muscles of his hands. A good guy, too.
Jon pall could nowhere near a 2425 total in the 3 lifts, he was a great athlete, but in static strength he was nowhere near kazmaier. I’m talking in terms of bench, squat, deadlift, and overhead pressing power.
@@lsant3508 the DQ in the forward hold and having the 56lb weight toss on water gave Jon pall the title. Kaz beat him really bad in the deadlift and log lift in that contest, Kazmaiers’ warm up lifts that year in the log lift and deadlift were equal to Jon palls’ max, it was a rigged contest. Jon Pall max log was 150 kilos which kazmaier toyed with and his Jon palls deadlift was 450 kilos which was Kazmaiers 1st lift. Jon Pall even said after winning in 1988 that Kaz was the strongest man jn the world in terms of pure power.
Kazmaier, to me, is a human highlight-reel. he is just sooo bad ass! i remember seeing those old WSM-contests on ESPN (they played it a LOT back in the day) and thinking-- 'i wanna be like that guy!'
The events were structured to suit jon paul, he was great friends with the organiser and even lived at his house when he was competing. Kaz was the stonger man and in the real strong man events Kaz was the best.
That'd be an ammonia salt or 'Nose Tork.' I'm not sure how it works chemically, but it either makes you more alert or hypes you up some more. I'm sure if you research it on google you'll get a better answer as to what it does exactly.
Jon Pall beat Kaz in this very WSM tournement so how can people claim that Kaz was better? Anyone that says Kaz is better is being ignorant and needlessly patriotic! Sigmarsson is the best of all time!
only one kaz,if kaz was in his prime today he clobber everyone like he did before.with todays dope i imagine a 400 pound kaz with 12 percent bodyfat a 800 bench 1050 pull and a 1250 squat.
Paul Anderson and Louis Cyr were the strongest men that ever lived. If you want to count someone that was given divine strength, then Sampson was and always will be the strongest ever.
@@lsant3508 kazmaier had a torn tricep muscle 6 weeks before pure strength 1987 and had barely trained, and the events were handpicked by Douglas edmunds and David Webster for Jon Pall to win the competition.
@bubadippin well guys like saxon and paul anderson are stronger than kazmaier mostly, but i think bill might've juiced i'm not sure. And of course the thor legend and samson happenings dwarf them haha
im not saying that kaz wasnt one of the absolute strongest men who ever lived. but in my opinion paul anderson has to be the strongest has to be because all of his lifting was when all of these supplements and things to help maximize your lift.
i respect this sport and the competitors because it takes a tremendous amount of physical prolice and scarifice even mental to make it at this sport but yet these men don;t get a leak of the publicity or money that they deserve. but baseball players get paid million of dollars to play catch. OH WELL it is what it is lol
@bubadippin o no doubt hercules was, but from what i've uncovered is that thor was not just a pagan god,but an early germanic man who possessed superhuman strength most likely but either or bill kazmaier is not the strongest man to ever live lol
@bubadippin why don't they exist? Not starting an argument, but just because it wasn't written down doesn t mean he never existed:) but yes samson was an amazing man
the reason he looks average is that he is 100% natural. He never, as far as anybody knows, took anything to artificially enhance his strength. The proof is that He can still do it after age 60. He 's still the same size and nearly the definition at age 59-60 as he was then!!!
Wrong. Paul was amazingly agile for 350-360lbs. He was able to squat 1200 for 2, clean and jerk 435, bench press 627, and deadlift 820. He woulda gave Kaz a run for his money. Numbers give us an indication of performance, not your "instinct, or your "opinion."
@rachmedhasch Kaz used the juice as well. But some of the drugs these days are much stronger, and no HGH back then unless you wanted to take it out of some dead body's brain!!!
@ospreydude51 hey man......hard to judge this since he has been gone for so long. I read an account written by the original Riply (believe it or not) so I guess the best judge at the time that he dead lifted 40 fat men(all over 200 lbs) on a platform and held it over head for 7 seconds, Probably near 8 thousand pounds. truely never topped to my knowledge. thanks for the comments

That DQ was bullshit. They gifted Jon Pall the title in 1988 just like in 1990.

Sigmarsson is the number one strong man ever! Thats a fact people! Kaz was great but Sigmarsson was better!
yea, someone asked him a few years ago, how does he train nowadays, kaz smiled and said "the same" xD the guy is a beast..
I do believe there are stronger people. But also that this guy is extremely smart of using his strength.

2:30 that second effort is beautiful. Never give up.
And back in those days when you could just pick it up like cough medacime, you don't even want to try to imagine how much they were on!!!!
My Great Uncle would make these guys look silly. Love you Uncle Louis!
"Louis Cyr" Strongest man to ever live!
Angus MacAskill, John Grun, Kirill Sarychev > Louis Cyr
damn bill he is so dedicated you think blood will come out of his eyes he is pushing so much
1:12 I'm a cowboy...
Bill: YEAH
who needs a tow truck when you got this guy?!
i met kaz, really cool guy! best ever.
Bill - strongest man in 80's but not who ever lived!
Paul Anderson - its man n 1!!!!
good song for the vid good flow

he doesnt participate in this event anymore, but hes like a reporter for them, i saw him on tv the other day. He looks the same but with white hair xD
smelling salts. they reduce fatigue and wake you up when your tired so you can breath better
at 3:39 look at his eyes. pure determination.
Fekete is unbeliveble as he competes against stereoid monsters
Kazmaier looks like the king of queens dude after 5 years of konsistent strongman training XDDD
What is that event called where he is holding the weight out like a front raise? 3:42

Ya, he was pretty strong. He's just lucky that I wasn't born yet.
I need a shirt that has a shortened version of my first name. That way I can pull a mack truck without looking like a show off.
look at the arms, wow.
@Lucrio40 u right Kaz has no match, but no one have more overhead power than Zydrunas
Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Dumb question, but how old is Kaz now?

who's the guy in the green shorts at the beginning?

Money glorifies athletes who play in America's popular sports.
This athlete worked hard for glory rather than money.
I respect that.
@SaraDupastara You should think a little, This was a long time ago, Mariusz was born in 77', a little before this strongmen comp
Look at him whipping Jon Pall Sigmarsson in that carry and drag event, when he wasn't injured Kaz was the strongest no doubt about it.
