Synopsis:
Fed up with the lack of critical appreciation despite being a successful writer, Abhimanyu Roy (Ayushmann Khurrana) returns to his roots in Kolkata to write more meaningful literature and decides on an old-fashioned love story - which was now, 3 years in the making.
This writers block is called Bindu (Parineeti Chopra). How do you contain this unpredictable, crazy, restless, larger than life, live wire in the pages of a book?
As Abhi says ‘‘You know when a song comes on and you just have to dance? Bindu was that song. That silly infectious joyful tune you couldn’t get out of your head… even if you wanted to.”
So where should he begin? Where should he end?
But when Abhi stumbles across an old audio cassette of their favourite playlist, it sends Abhi down memory lane… and as he waltzes in and out of his past and present through the songs in the mixed tape, he finally faces reality and reconnects with his roots, with his family and his novel starts writing itself.
Of course, life in its usual scheming manner surprises him yet again and changes the ending of his book and his life, as he once again finds himself being pulled back into the center of that crazy little thing called love.
He realizes, that love, is neither time- nor place-dependent….
All we need is the right person next to us and of course the right soundtrack.

Another thoroughly misunderstood film. The entire film was based on nostalgia and the process of letting go of memories and living in the present. Such a beautifuly written and mature film.
I viewed it as u should keep those memories as that is the only thing we will have forever. The relationship between them two was perfect. Not what veiwers wanted but perfect

This is a very underappreciated movie. I can understand why it didn't make money (probably because of the ending or lack of party songs), but I can relate to it completely. If movies like half girlfriend can do decent business (I didn't watch the movie but read the plot), then I can understand why good movies go undervalued. If the makers are reading the comments, I would like to state that there was so much soul in the movie. The cinematography, screenplay and the direction was really good; really felt Abhimanyu's adoration of Bindu.
Highly underrated movie. This film shows the reality of love stories. The emotions, the dialogues❤

Yeah man! It's just because the film clashed with Bahubali 2 indirectly i.e it got released during the time Bahubali was earning in full force. So the exhibitors were also forced to allocate more screens to that, since it had a high demand. But nevertheless, now I can easily go back watch the film whenever I want on Amazon Prime Video.

Most underrated movie of 2017
Loved the movie. A lot of people did not enjoy the movie because they could not understand the theme. The ending also made many people upset. Our brains are so processed to watch formula movies that we sometimes find it difficult to get the actual story in a movie that is out of the box. Meri Pyarri Bindu is definitely one of my fev and Ayushmann gave his best performance. Parineeti was so right...Abhimannu is such a simple but layered character and portraying a man genuinely in love is the toughest job to do. Ayushmann took the character to another level. Special mention for the songs...every single song had a story to tell and those are masterpiece. It's also nice to see young talented directors, music directors, choreographers are getting opportunity to showcase their work. Thanks YRF for that.

only thing wrong with the movie was that we didn't really know why bindu didn't marry abhi, she clearly loved him. I mean if she had gone after her career it would've been understandable, but she left abhi and married someone else. I really enjoyed the movie but it would've made it a lot better if we knew why she didn't marry him

I guess that's what made it interesting because we only saw the story from Abhimanyu's point of view. When they break up, Bindu is shown to be going through a tough time in her career because her album didn't sell. Maybe she only felt affection for Abhimanyu and thought that was love. Maybe her husband actually challenged her and that's what made her fall in love with him.

This movie will always be one of my fav movies.Unfortunately it didnt get the response or appreciation which it actually deserved.We are so much used to fairytales and happy endings in our movies that we dont accept realistic movies or stories..The music,the locations,the narration of movie and the chemistry between Ayushmann and Parineeti is too good and Ayushmann is brilliant portraying Abhimanyu Roy who has loved only one girl since the day he saw her.Also Parineeti has both acted and sung brilliantly 'Maana ke hum yaar nahi' .This one song at the end sums up the full story.The only reason this movie flopped is because 'Happy Endings Bikte Jyada Hai'
It really doesn't matter what the movie achieved at the box office. Be sure of that, this movie is gonna attend cult status over the years. This movie is for class, class and class. I loved the movie.
I'm in love with this movie❤😍, since I watched It I discovered why people didn't like it, it simply because there is no happy ending no impossible love story, the movie was about the real life that anyone could live, the one part's love that make the person's heart broken forever, the complicated feelings that we can't explain, it was about love, family, friends, happiness, craziness, sadness,... this is meri pyaari bindu, a mix of life, when you watch it you directly fall in love with it, but like I've said, the majority of people won't reality, they Unfortunately just want ek tha raja ek thi rani dono mar gaye khatam kahani 😕😞

I just loved this film. The chemistry between two best friends, the scenes, songs, moments everything are so relatable. I've just watched two days back and can't get over it. I want to watch this again and again. I'm in love with Parineeti. Ohh I want to live this film. Though last misunderstandings are created just lack of conversation and understandings. Still those made the last part more amazing. Just loved it.

I saw this movie : Meri Pyari Bindu today . I could not understand the ending of the film . There is no two opinion that the hero loves the heroine till the last frame of the movie. The heroine has been steady with him since childhood. They also had live in relationships. All fine . But in the end she phones him to tell that she is getting married . When the hero wanted to marry her , she tells that marriage is too heavy for her and she she keep tugging the necklace given by the hero,s mother . Ok . Understood . Then after two years she phones him to tell that she is getting married. If she is ready for marriage now , why not marry the hero ? Her characterization is such that she is ambitious and wants to become a singer. Now that she is getting married to a Mr Nair , whom we don’t see at all, what about her ambition ? She is shown as a mother of a five- six year old daughter. But she was a failure in bringing anything to an end . Then , how come she is maintaining her marriage for so long ? I didn’t understand the ending at all.

The song is good, but the movie was horrible. Headless chicken this story is. Couldn’t believe I wasted 1.40 hours watching this nonsense. Ayushmann Khurrana normally I associate with decent story lines but yeah, got to be careful now. Appearances can be deceptive.
