- It truly varies from airline to airline, but most sources say that carriers will refurbish their cabins between 5 and 10 years. This past year and going into 2025, there have been quite a few airlines announcing beautiful new interiors for their jets. These are either new cabins being refurbished on older jets, or brand new designs for new, incoming aircraft types - or perhaps even both.
So, in today’s video, we look at some of the most high-profile cabin refits that have been announced in recent times. We might also mention some of the challenges these new cabins have presented! So, let's get started!

Airlines noticed that selling upgraded seats to existing passengers is easier and more lucrative.
That's nothin new or a recent discovery. That's been going on actively since at least the 1990s
Really wanna try out Luftansa and Cathay Pacific's new cabins. They look just so awesome!
Unfortunately LH will take a long time to roll out the new seats. They are already a year behind schedule because of problems with the seats
@@John-bi1lv Yeah, although I guess it will go much faster once the certification issues of Collins for their seat area solved. Then LH will suddenly get 15+ new aircraft which are ready to be delivered.
I’d love to see a video highlighting the most improved basic economy seats, or something. Don’t get me wrong though, seeing the first class and premium products is really fun!
No that's not the case here. Any route that Delta currently uses the 757 on can be replaced with the 321NEO. This is about keeping Capital costs in check and are waiting new deliveries so they're going to use the 75 since they are paid off as a stopgap measure
@@John-bi1lv what? That has nothing to do with what I commented lol
Yeah I'd love to see this too! Admittedly the videos wouldn't be as visual as the seats likely would have at best improved legroom or a few extra tech in the in-flight entertainment but it's always nice to see the back of the plane get improved too since most of us fly that cabin!
● First Class:
1. SQ Suite + Etihad the Residence & the Apartment = still unrivalled
2. Swiss First Class on A330neo is a rare project
3. Looking forward f/ Lufthansa Allegris First Class Suite w/ double bed
● Business Class:
1. Qsuite nextgen + ANA the Room + Apex Suite = still the most fav biz Suite
2. Lufthansa Allegris front Suite + Virgin Upper front Suite = resembling mini First Class Suite
3. Oman + Asiana First Class reffered as Business Suite is quite interesting
● Premium Economy:
1. Premium seat w/ hard shell + side pad becomes frenzy
2. Air NZ 777 Shell seats still hold the best
● Economy Class:
1. Perhaps Starlink WiFi would be free entire cabin including Economy Passengers
2. Air NZ Skycouch + Skynest concept is quite revolutionary
3. Qantas A350 Wellbeing Zone + Virgin A330neo the Loft Lounge is a requirement in every Widebody
I love Delta's new cabin finishes
Swiss new Premium Economy looks fantastic
Korean Air also recently introduced a new Business Class product; known as the Prestige Suites 2.0. This new Business Class seat just made its debut on the Boeing 787-10, however the Boeing 777-300ER will feature these cabins over the next few years, according to reports.
Looks like AA is going to have IFE in their A321-XLRs, meaning they're going to be used primarily for transcon and international longhaul flights.
Yes they will have IFE since they will primarily be used on international routes. The transconds will primarily be for aircraft utilization to keep it high.
@John-bi1lv Flights between New York and California are very competitive, so the big 3 use their best equipment on those routes. I expect that AA will use the XLR for transcon too.
By the way, Philippine Airlines will be taking delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000's later this year, so I personally can't wait to see what those cabins will look like. Also, Philippine Airlines will be retrofitting their Airbus A321-200's, however cabin details are currently unknown and are yet to be disclosed to the public. I also can't wait to see what those cabins will look like as well.
Fingers crossed that Brussels Airlines' new A330 cabins will be similar to Lufthansa's Allegris cabin!
The 3 Allegris business class seats, with 2 behind overlapping the 1 in the front middle, layout looks different.
Delta's cabin looks awesome!
At least economy cabins never change for the better so we never get confused LOL
If I have the money, I will only fly that room seat from LH if I travel long distance.
First class labyrinth.... errhh cabin. 😉
Swiss Senses is basically Lufthansa Allegris
But CX miscalculate the delivery of the 777X and new first class won't be happening who knows when?
When I scroll the last chapter says “Roast Beef Pboy”
Qatar need to focus on consistency rather than a Qsuite variant. They are synonymous with last minute aircraft swaps where people purchase one product only to end up with a dated 2-2-2 configuration.
Malaysia Airlines new cabins rolling out on A339s
Lets first see if Airbus can deliver a safe a330neo to them 🤣
The real question with all these will be how quickly and how consistently these new products will be rolled out. LH’s new Business seats are pretty useless as long as there’s still a big chance to end up with one of those dreadful feetle seats instead. Likewise, Qantas is notorious for promising without ever delivering and even on Qatar you always have a fair chance to get “equipment changed” to a rather sub par product.
Every new seat shown has cloth fabric. Vinyl is the least comfortable because it doesn't breathe, although it's easier to clean and cheaper. Even real leather is not as comfortable as cloth but breathes, unlike vinyl. My Mercedes can be specced with cloth seats and it actually costs more, the leather is only on the outer area, the part you're not sitting on.
Cattle class is all I can afford, and I never take flights that take longer than five hours as I have an enlarged prostate and being stuck in queues for a toilet is not a lot of fun.
qantas interior looks like a funeral
Wheres the signature red?
Air India!
Unfortunately, judging by past experience, any new Air India cabins will be totally trashed within 6 months of use. 😢
Are these the same new cabins that have not yet been cleared by the FAA as being safe in the event of a crash?
6th!
Crystal business class by Turkish Airlines is absolute missing in that list
nice to see first class suites the normal now. If emirates didnt have the shower, it would be surpassed easily by now. IMO there are better first class out there than emirates nowadays
Seat cooling, wireless charging and usb C finally.
How about air new zealand?
Just hope that these new seats meet the safety requirements set by FAA, EASA, and other relevant safety authorities.
*What does adding all this weight do to an aircraft?*
Korean air
Its nice to see delta re-doing the 757 , and other airlines re-doing their 777s and a380s. They understand that these planes don't have a proper replacement really and should be kept flying.
BA’s FC is just a generation behind
Peak British efficiency.
WHI H THEY WOULDN'T HAVE PUT THE WNGS ON THE SEATS ,KNOW YOU CANT WATGH PEOPLE DRULE ON THEMSELF WHILE THEY SLEEP!! ALL OVER THEIR HIGH PRICED SUITS !! Guess I'll have find something else to watch GO AIRBUS❤❤
This video doesn’t make much difference to American flyers because US carriers are so out of touch with comfort - they’re more driven by cash. They could care little about amenities - this can best be illustrated by the choice of seats companies select to use on aircraft . They are getting as thin as paper, and hideously uncomfortable. They just want their planes filled.
Booooooooring
