    I agree with you, my favorite tone was the small Cornell, especially with the Junior. Such a great sound overall. It barks and bites, such a great sound. Would be interested to hear it in a mix.

    Hi Joe.
    Great demo once again!
    You always play in a way that allows the gear itself to show what it can do....I really appreciate that.
    Whilst listening to this awesome speaker , I was hoping you might have plans to do a side by side demo of the Fane A60 and A30 together soon?
    I have four of the a60's myself, which I use in various amps and cabs.
    I would really love to be able to hear how the A30 fares next to my current favourite alnico speaker!
    In the meantime, keep up the good work!

      Thanks Steve - letting the gear show itself off is the main aim, for me :-) I did use both the A30 & A60 in the big Fane shootout I did a couple of months ago, and included that pairing running together at a few points because it sounded so ace! th-cam.com/video/BBh--plPOvo/w-d-xo.html

    you are a hot guitar player ;) I am liking the A30 as well. The top end and chime has a sweetness to it that isn't matched by blue speakers

    I was very tempted by the Fane A30, but ended getting an Alnico Weber Blue Dog for the Alnico Speaker in my 65 Amps Marquee Amp. I got a very good discount on it.

    I really really enjoyed this speaker with the Cornell but also with the 18watt Marshall.
    Speaking of 18watt Marshall, Joe, do you have any plan to cover some "obscure" vintage british amp company like Selmer and Watkins? There is a company (well, i think it's just one person) in the US called Balthazar (i saw at least one dealer in the Uk and one here in Eu) that makes amps based on those old british amp company. I've ordered one of his amps called the Film Noir 18, which takes inspiration from the Watkins Dominator mixed with elements of the Vox AC15 and a few stuff from Selmer amps.

      @JoePerkinsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would, though it's not a big priority of mine! As you mentioned though, I think the 18W circuit is _basically_ a copy of the Watkins Dominator...?

    Nice to see a fellow lefty and fane fan. I fitted an axiom 10 into my Rivera Clubster 25, you haven't tried the axa ones? To me it's the best 10 ever, I wish they also made some 10s now

    I'm still trying to decide between the A30 and A60 for my magnatone Varsity reverb. It's a 15 watt and I put a cream alnico in it, but I've been wanting to try a lower wattage speaker like the A30 or 60. The amp only has treble and bass volume so I've been wanting something a bit brighter, amp seems to have alot of lows even with the bass down.

    • @JoePerkinsMusic
      @JoePerkinsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I'd go with the A30 if you're after a slightly brighter speaker 🙂

    It does sound good. NIce to have alternative options. Have you tried the Eminence Lady Luck? It's a special, made for Epiphone. They sounded so good in my Epiphone Blues Custom 30 that managed to get a spare. Currently being used with a SJB head. Worth a try, if you can find one.

    Hey Joe. Love your videos ! Please keep them coming. Question. I have a hiwatt custom 20 , 2 el 84 amp, with a 1 x12 cab. It came with a fane f70 speaker but looking for something lower wattage or Alnico. I’m considering a fane f25, a30, n30, or f30. Given that you have played them all , any suggestions? I play classic rock, and the amp stays in my bedroom. One concern is that the alnico may be a bit too bright for the el 84. Thanks !

    • @JoePerkinsMusic
      @JoePerkinsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I'd go for this A30...I'd always rather have a bright speaker and take treble out of the amp, rather than a dark speaker and boost treble. The A30 is brighter than the ceramics, but not as piercing as something like a Celestion Blue or Gold. But for classic rock, you might want to consider the F25 also. I did film a shootout of the whole Fane range so you can hear the differences: th-cam.com/video/BBh--plPOvo/w-d-xo.html

      @JoePerkinsMusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don’t know much about 10’s I’m afraid - tend to stick to 12’s myself. But Fanes are very closely tied with the Hiwatt sound, so if you decide to go with 12’s, that’s where to start.

      @@JoePerkinsMusic thanks a lot for your answer. Tonally, it makes sense. My only hesitation was based on the 2 db difference in sensitivity. I feel these speakers will go brilliantly with my Burriss Dirty Red 18 watt EL84 amp. I am really enjoying your channel. Thanks for doing what you do.

      @@jlunch I think the benefits of the two different mangets/voicings would far outweigh one being a touch louder - I run a Celestion Gold (100dB) and Heritage G12M (96dB) in my main recording cab & it's never been a problem 🙂
