I went to her grave when I was 16. There were lipstick kisses all over it, and a hand written note from her housekeeper on the stone itself and it smelled like Chanel number 5. Flooded with flowers. The mausoleum is about medium height in the wall at Brentwood cemetary and Buddy Rich is buried right by her
Huge kudos to Traci Park, the LA city council, and the many like minded folks who initiated and/or rallied behind the continuing efforts to save this architectural and historical treasure. Hopefully, this place will become a fully protected, enduring testament to the legacy of the intelligent, gifted, driven, iconic beauty who called it home and made it her own. Rest in peace, Ms. Norma Jeane... you are forever in our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
So glad the city council is stepping in there are many historically signifigant houses that have been razed to make room for monstrosities with no character.

Not to throw cold water on this, but the home has been behind a wall so nobody can even see it. Will the city be reimbursing the current owners for this? They bought it before it was designated a cultural monument, so things have switched on them.
It's the property value in Brentwood, The owners would build a new house there and ask 30mil or more citing "The [property] once belonged to a Hollywood icon" as a tag. People in the market for homes in that area nowdays probably had parents who weren't born for at least a decade after she passed. The younger generation today wouldn't have the same appreciation for Marilyn Monroe as they would have for someone like Heath Ledger or even Jimmy Buffett. Sholdd be turned into a museum!
How could anyone ever demolish this home?!
I went to her grave when I was 16. There were lipstick kisses all over it, and a hand written note from her housekeeper on the stone itself and it smelled like Chanel number 5. Flooded with flowers. The mausoleum is about medium height in the wall at Brentwood cemetary and Buddy Rich is buried right by her
Great, Thank you Council
Huge kudos to Traci Park, the LA city council, and the many like minded folks who initiated and/or rallied behind the continuing efforts to save this architectural and historical treasure. Hopefully, this place will become a fully protected, enduring testament to the legacy of the intelligent, gifted, driven, iconic beauty who called it home and made it her own. Rest in peace, Ms. Norma Jeane... you are forever in our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
So glad the city council is stepping in there are many historically signifigant houses that have been razed to make room for monstrosities with no character.
I love her home she was wonderful
WTF really believed that her Legacy would ever be demolished! SMH
it should be a museum like Elvis mansion
We need to start another petition I'll travel there and stand by anyone willing to keep this home there
'MYSTERIOUS FIRE' IS WHAT 'DEVELOPERS' USE TO GET THEIR WAY!!!
signed and sent to other friends and relatives I am so relieved it has been halted Iwas in this home several times when I lived in LA and even was gifted to enter it one day I stopped by and the home was open for sale I still havethe analogue photos of it ❤
Not to throw cold water on this, but the home has been behind a wall so nobody can even see it. Will the city be reimbursing the current owners for this? They bought it before it was designated a cultural monument, so things have switched on them.
💯 percent 💯 percent 💯
Thank you for saving her home
Is it going to be open to the public ?
She's history of human race not just Hollywood. Thank u Tracy.
How can people be so disrespectful against the biggest Hollywood star ever?
Built in 1929, worth about $8 million, the new owners want it demolished.
Marilyn ⚘ only lived there months before she died. 😔 Such a sad ending.
Luckily there are people still around who do appreciate Marilyn Monroe's legacy but I gotta tell ya, Its a dying breed.
@@Al_Catraz1 that'sfor sure!
Few youngsters have heard of the classic "Margaritaville" released in 1977. 😊
This can have a happy ending Please join in the effort to save Marilyn's home from being demolished and write to the house address to Glory Snow company and plead for the house to not be demolished Much Gratitude
The new owners probably afraid Marilyn's house will depreciate in value like the Brady house did even though the third owners had that hallmark living room staircase installed
@@ManFa_Q I remember when HGTV was renovating the Brady Bunch house...Asking $5.5 million and after months on the market,, sold for $3.2 million to a fan that has no intention of living there.
The renovated inside is very 1970's and maybe not to everyone's liking...orange kitchen countertops.😖
Thank you god❤
The city council is concerned about all the wrong things. The city council should be concerned about all the crime and homelessness in Los Angeles.
WHY IS IT WE ALWAYS WANT TEAR DOWN THE MOST BEAUITFUL THINGS FROM ARE PAST ??????
I so hope it's still standing as is!! Come on....save LA's heritage!!!!!
❤ a museum pictures of her please
They should never tear down that house. Hollywood has a unique history that no other state or country for that matter has. They should do all they can do to protect that house and other houses and buildings that are linked to Hollywood's history.
I wonder who the current owner is?
That needs to be preserved.
Why on earth would anyone demolish this stunning home!
