This is a grail doll. My most expensive doll is a Doll Château custom painted Snow Nymph with metal neck and crown by DC. I thought that was so expensive. I’m always on the lookout for used Popovy doll. They are amazing. Your doll is breathtaking.
I've been a BJD/doll collector for years, and I've seen 100s of different sculpts, both commercial and Artist. Some have stretched my imagination, some have stretched my acceptability and pocket! Most I love, few I've been MEH about, occasionally I see one that becomes a grail doll. There are few I've labelled ugly. Unfortunately these dolls fall into that . I've looked at the sisters, I've held Owl, the resin is wonderful, very smooth and heavy for the dolls size. I understand totally that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't discriminate against anyone's personal choice, and yes, I know BJDs are one of the most diverse dolls in the history of doll making. However, I can't get past the small eyes that give this beautifully crafted doll a sly expression. The teeth on the one called Owl, gives the doll a rodent look which makes me shiver. I'm sorry, I just find them ugly, and the recasted ones are worst. I'm happy you love your doll, you love all your dolls, no matter what they look like. Lol! And I absolutely love your doll collection in its diverse way! I don't mean to be nasty, I'm just being honest. I'm sure if people are honest they can name a number of sculpts they find unattractive too!

These dolls are brilliant. But I'd never ever be able to afford one. I went looking to buy one and it was 1500. for the doll, wigs were over a 100. and clothes 90 and up. Lucky if you can afford one.
I have a chest full of barbies even one created date of the year I was born in 1964,I played all the time with my barbies and I have a chest full that I wanted to redo and display them so many years ago even my daughters and granddaughters dolls are in the chest some are in my cedar chest I want to do something with them I was inspired by their video that led me to your video. It is absolutely deplorable how some humans are treated on this earth, and in particular, in this country. I have not seen that movie because I understand it is a horror film and I cannot watch those. I like to keep a diverse collection so that artists will continue to create dolls that are representative, because I do believe representation matters, in all facets of life. One way I bought my Popovy Dolls was by selling some other dolls I had to make money. If you have any toys, game systems, or even clothes you don't use anymore, I would recommend starting by selling them. To get the long nails you can request the Landy hands, they have the long pointy fingernails. To care for them, I'm just careful to make sure my hands are clean when I handle them, and keep them on a shelf when I'm not "playing". I would recommend too buying a blank doll to start, on the least expensive body type. I'm not sure which type that is right now, but it would get one in your hands faster. Then you can send the face off to artist to have it painted. My Landy is beautiful and was not painted by the Sisters. Good luck 💜

Do you agree with me that the packaging of the dolls is a but odd. I think they need to refresh that part of the process. The amount of work that went into this doll is insane and to risk it with this type of bubble wrap and tape is a bit strange to me. I think it can be wrapped with some sort of soft textile like silk and neoprene on the places where a little bit more support is needed. The sisters have insane sewing skills a little bit of thread instead of tape will elevate this experience even more. I am not trying to find something to complain about, because there Is nothing which make me feel like I need to, as the work done to create this masterpiece is just unreal to me but just as a creator my self i know it comes a time in which you are just stucking in some ways. Of course it can't be perfect but it always can be refreshed.
To be honest I didn't think about it too much at the time but I guess it could be improved upon. The important thing was the doll arrived in pretty much perfect condition so their method works. This video is also a little older, not sure if they've changed the way they package things since.

The Sisters do such incredible detailed work. I gotta work in my tiny sewing skills. Do they use wire to build the structure the hairline in the wig? How it is connected in there? Is the wig sewn? What kind of cap does it have?
The COA for the wig does say they use a wire structure. I'm not sure what type of cap it has and how it's sewn as I have not pulled it off, I'm not sure I ever will because I am very afraid of damaging it, but if I ever do I will let you know 💜

Because the oils in our hands can damage the painting on the doll...I still handle mine with bare hands but some people want to keep those oils off their dolls 💜
Beautiful. And also scary. Whenever I saw that kind of a scene in films or in crime series, a person making realistic looking female dolls, somebody was murdered after.
Does anyone know the cost I saw on the one of their website says they were making the dolls that they cost about $80,000 American money I could be wrong does anyone know for sure
These are ELITE dolls and are only $3000 and I don't say "only" lightly because that is VERY expensive for a doll but where you ever saw $80,000 they were totally pulling your leg... you might find one made of diamonds that cost that much but even that would be a completely crazy price. The blank dolls are around $800 to $900 and the custom paint us around $600 to $800. The expensive parts are the wig's and costumes which could EACH cost between $500 to $1000 dollars and that doesn't always include shoes. So between $1000 blank or up to $5000 on the most expensive but not $80,000 !! That anyone would say that is beyond me... but it was good for a giggle.

The COA for the wig does say they use a wire structure. I'm not sure what type of cap it has and how it's sewn as I have not pulled it off, I'm not sure I ever will because I am very afraid of damaging it, but if I ever do I will let you know 💜

Does anyone know the cost I saw on the one of their website says they were making the dolls that they cost about $80,000 American money I could be wrong does anyone know for sure
This doll was just under $3,000
These are ELITE dolls and are only $3000 and I don't say "only" lightly because that is VERY expensive for a doll but where you ever saw $80,000 they were totally pulling your leg... you might find one made of diamonds that cost that much but even that would be a completely crazy price. The blank dolls are around $800 to $900 and the custom paint us around $600 to $800. The expensive parts are the wig's and costumes which could EACH cost between $500 to $1000 dollars and that doesn't always include shoes. So between $1000 blank or up to $5000 on the most expensive but not $80,000 !! That anyone would say that is beyond me... but it was good for a giggle.
