    Thanks so much for checking out my game! What an honor to be on the channel as a long time viewer.
    Only note is the rule on looting - items you loot from chest come from a random card from the discard pile not the draw pile, that way it’s not a penalty for getting an item.
    Glad you seem to enjoy it. Happy capturing!

      Did you do the art as well?

    • @GoblinHourGames
      @GoblinHourGames ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@goodjessehobbies I wish I was that multi talented but the art was the one thing I didn’t do. I contracted the art from Lorenzo Uccheddu. I had given him rough idea reference pictures and the theme of it being drawn on old parchment and he knocked it out of the park. Will be working with him on my future stuff for sure.

      Very cool game, I just ordered it. Too bad it takes a long time to arrive in Germany.

      @@DanielK81Hey Daniel hope you enjoy the game when it arrives! Yeah - the shipping time overseas is a big bummer but with print on demand it’s the only way I can get the game out there as a solo designer. Thanks for giving it a chance!

      Would it be pointless to mix two decks together ?

  • @sammyspoelders8375

    I love this game, it plays so quick.
    One thing to note, if u get a treasure chest u shuffle the discard pile for the item and draw from there. Not the draw deck.

    I backed this one as well. Very simple, yet clever, design! You also know I love small tin games. lol. I love the blackjack press-your-luck element, but I think that what makes this shine from a design perspective is the deck also being your health. We have seen this before, but this uses it perfectly to create tension for the player. I will be keeping an eye on this designer.
    One thing that I think could elevate the design is if when you draw a card, the player can choose to pass on it. Enemies with high health are obviously more difficult. Perhaps when the player draws an enemy, they can evade the combat, by paying an additional card and the player doesn't get to capture the enemy. This would add another choice for the player and create even more tension. Maybe you pass on the ogre, paying a card, and draw the death knight. ouch!

    • @GoblinHourGames
      @GoblinHourGames ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Jason, thanks for the kind words! Your tin series was a big inspiration for me getting this design seen through to the end and out there for others to enjoy.
      I love the idea of running past a monster and burning your hp a bit faster to see if you get an easier one next - great idea, will keep this in mind for any potential expansions.

    Just ordered it based on your video. I’ve been playing Tin Helm, Deckula, mini rogue, set a watch. I never was interested in solo board games but I’m hooked now and I’m waiting on Desolate and the Gates. I wish I could get a nice already printed copy of Galdor’s Grip

    It is very interesting. Simple and clean. I like the artstyle and card design, this is IMHO multiple use cards done right. Sometimes when we see multiple use cards we get cards that feel very convoluted.

    So, this looks kinda neat. What's weird is my first thought was something kind of like Hexplore it (it's on the mind, since I obtained a copy--oh my god this game is great and it eats an entire table, holy crap) but now that I look at it and watch the video, I get some actual thoughts of Crystallo, of all games. If you've never played Crystallo, it's the game that got me into solo-gaming, and I would put this on par with it. Anyhoo, great video, now I wanna buy a copy. Jeez, this channel makes my wallet suffer... oh well, at least I get to have fun. :D

    I LOVE this game. Got it a few weeks ago and play it daily. It’s simple, fun and can literally be played anywhere.

    Seems incredibly hard to actually win - almost unbalanced if I'm honest haha

    • @TheDungeonDive
      @TheDungeonDive  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Every loss has been super close, like 1 or 2 cards/points away. I think it's very tightly balanced, but you have to play smartly, something I never, ever do because I'm terrible at games! LOL!

    • @GoblinHourGames
      @GoblinHourGames ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Juten - I hear it gets more consistent once you get some plays in and you know the card value pool. Knowing you’ve already used a lot of 3 value cards early on you may not press your luck later hoping for one.
      Using the items to get max value in terms of saving you cards is a big factor in playing well too.
      With any push your luck sometimes it’s just not on your side. That said my win rate is around 85% as the creator/designer.
      Hope you give it another go - happy capturing!

    • @dahmeedee
      @dahmeedee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m at about a 40% win rate, which I feel is pretty perfect. Keeps me going back for more.

    • @GoblinHourGames
      @GoblinHourGames ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dahmeedee A big part of why I wanted to keep the game short is for the just one more go feel. That and when luck is not on your side you don’t feel like a ton of time is wasted.

  • @sobreeltablero
    @sobreeltablero ปีที่แล้ว

    Too abstract for my taste. Forgetable.
    Nothing makes thematic sense.
    Small tin microgames should aim for thematic immersion, or at least try.
    This game will do the same without theme or illustrations.

    • @GoblinHourGames
      @GoblinHourGames ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there, That's your opinion and I respect it! The idea is your cursed and everything you touch breaks and turns to ash after a few moments so your using all new stuff you find on dead adventurers. Tried to tie it in with capturing the souls (damaging but not over killing or "busting" the monsters) so she will lift the curse.
      That said I aimed to keep it very pick up and play so its for sure not a thematic masterpiece! Happy gaming.

    • @vincenzogiambusso
      @vincenzogiambusso ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't get your comment... All games are sort of mathematic turned to a gaming experience. The theme is part in your head and part on the game art. It seems to me this game has a very nice graphics, consistent, pleasant to the eye. I think it's just a matter of opinion. Cheers

    • @sobreeltablero
      @sobreeltablero ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vincenzogiambusso It is true that all game mechanics are abstractions to some degree, but mechanics should make thematic sense for a game to be thematic, otherwise the theme will just be an UI, just a tool to make the game aesthetically pleasing and easy to understand and follow, but the theme will not come through via the mechanics of the game. This happens a lot with Euros, the games are gorgeous, especially nowadays, but the themes are just UIs, nothing more. If you like your games to be just a mix of mechanics with some nice graphics and art on top, that is fine, I understand it can be enjoyable for many, we all look for different things in games.
