Keith, thank you so much for sharing your Walksnail experiences here with us. This is a system which I think I will likely eventually get into. Regarding the video format, your thoughts and opinions are, to me, the most interesting part of your videos. In other words, I really like it when you narrate over the flight. Music is fine too sometimes, just to keep everybody happy. But please continue making videos of narrated flights. Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.
Fantastic flying, Keith! 😃 Honestly, I think 720p is more than enough for flying... And the OSD really looks better, which is a bonus! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Honestly the video feed looks great still. The latency is supposed to be much lower in 720p. If I was really picky I would say the lens distortion is the only problem. I know the HDzero m8 upgrade lens is very low distortion but again the Caddx camera probably has a bigger sensor than the camera that was made for which would make even that show more distortion.
The video and OSD looks great, can't tell a diff unless I replay it on a big screen. Also could please show how you setup your Crossfire MP telemetry, over WiFi/Bluetooth? Thank you
I've never been totally happy with Crossfire's telemetry as far as AP/MP goes. I can't get a reliable transparent link for mavlink that works for more than just on the bench... lol What I'm doing right now is Crossfire's own telemetry over the air, and in the transmitter I'm using Mavlink Emulation to push that out over wifi that Mission Planner sees. You get much less info in MP like that, and cant send anything up to the plane (waypoints, change settings, etc.) over the link, but it's at least more usable. I still use Dragonlink for anything large enough to carry it (comfortably)
Whomever told you you needed to work on making your videos less boring doesn't know what he's talking about. Your videos are about the narration, looking around for the farmer, finding tree stands, the occasional harvest or fire going on, just do you. I couldn't watch a full 10 seconds of this with just the video and music.
I've been flying in 720p all the time..video looks the same unless it's on a big TV....The OSD was flickering noticeably less....Lighting conditions the worst ever...lol... Can't wait to see it in decent light...🤔😳😀😀😀🇬🇧
Maybe a little, hard to say really. Either way, it's still bad enough that I really want Caddx to fix it if it's something they can do... lol Hopefully we'll see another f/w update soon when they get back to work after their break.
@@Chris-vc1dh Yep, no problems with either. I have Crossfire in this one. ELRS works too. Here's a list of all R/C systems it supports ardupilot.org/plane/docs/common-rc-systems.html
@@Chris-vc1dh It's the Esky Eagle, same as a HobbyZone Aeroscout. I have a Playlist here, the second video in the list shows some of the mods I did to it. That was when it still had analog FPV before I got Walksnail, but otherwise about the same. I've also removed the landing gear now too, and changed to a different motor.
Looks perfectly fine at 720p. If you hadn't advertised it was 720p I don't think I would have been able to tell any difference. OSD looks great still. What is the file size difference?
I honestly haven't even looked at the files from that flight, only what I recorded on the ground... lol I'm almost sure (but not positive) you can have it transmit in 720p and record onboard at 1080p. I'll have to try setting the onboard to 720p and see if they still look as good, make better use of the 8GB in the VTX.
Video link looks so good I'm glad I invested into the system, nice flight, thank you for sharing.

I’m seriously considering walksnail VRX for my SkyO4X goggles
Great video, thanks. What are you using to drive your pan and tilt? Are you using your goggles or controller? Thanks.
“Enemy of good is perfection” try telling this to a German, it’ll go over his head.

I run almost all Gemfan flash products. I’m on the fence with getting the Walksnail VRX and camera system for $280

Yep, I always enjoy the flight and calm narration.
I am using with HDO1 so I only use 720P

The OSD seemed to be stabler at 720p vs 1080p.... Do you feel it was?

is it still inav?
I've been running Ardupilot on this one since the rebuild a few months back, when I put in the F765-WSE
