This woman was so beautiful. She didn't try to be sexy, she just was!
She was amazing. The whole package. I'm so happy she found love after what she went through. Rest in peace, Tina. You were simply the best.
“The whole package”❤
Tina, rest in peace. We'll never forget you.Our love will never die. 💜
@@mariaestrada1023Amen!♥️
My husband and I were fortunate to see Tina Turner perform several years ago in San Antonio, Texas!
She was amazing! . RIP, Miss Turner 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
👍
The best and greatest female singer in rock n roll history.
Linda Ronstadt was better in her hey day. You’re no Good.
Ok take it easy lol
Cut female and she still is the best 💪🏽
Not the greatest . She’s one of the best . How do you compare the best to each other ?
@@reubination You take it easy....She was The Best!
She came and did what needed to be done ❤
Mesmerizing..
What can I say! Tina was an inspiration for a whole generation of women! God blessed her with wisdom and strength, which she so graciously shared with the world. May she rest in peace! Prayers and blessings for her husband Erwin.
She is so effortless, I feel like artist these days are too calculated with everything. She personifies authenticity, fun, strength, improvisation! She simply is the best. RIP.
...and she was all this while living thru the hell of a very very abused woman. Unbelievable ❤️💕🥲
The piano guy enjoying himself while killing it. Miss live bands like this. Tina is amazing
and he stayed with her for her entire career.
@@deedledumb790 Was he her musical director?
Kenny was an amazing piano player 🎶
That was Kenny who was with her until his sudden death in the late 90’s I think.
Looked him up - Kenneth “Kenny” Moore (1952-1997). Died while on tour with Tina in Australia. So sad. Now they’re singing together again.
She never cut her performances short! She acted like she had all the time in the world! ❤
The showmanship, the vocal skills, the dance skills, the energy, the charisma, the body... This is a rigorous live performance and she did everything she needed to do, she had it all.
Has anyone noted that she is 43 at this point. 43!!!! I also appreciate how Johnny points out how hard working she is, then she comes out and proves it 😁 Also love how she tosses off that blazer just like James Brown throws off his cape. What a Legend!
Tina will live in my heart forever 😊
❤
She had the best legs of anyone in the history of show business. Rest easy Tina.
Agree
She certainly did, what a wonderful human❤
You are watching the human form of platinum and gold. Just priceless.
“The human form of platinum & gold” absolutely & beautifully said❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹 Priceless
❤ this comment
shes spectacular. No lipsynch, real music on TV. The piano man is totally enjoying watching her perform. What a performer with such a unique voice. I was a Freshman in HS when Private Dancer hit and introduced me to her. What a comeback that was.
My god… how have I never seen this!?!? She’s AMAZING in every way! ❤
rock n roll queen
2nd half of her life
said it all sold her catalogue 50 mill
ended up rich n money love n homes...
Feel the same. I hadn't seen this amazing video.
I said the same thing. probably because I was 11 and in bed by the time it came on . man she is badass.
Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Tina Turner❤
I absolutely adored Tina. I am the same age, and not nearly as talented, but I enjoy listening to and watching her. I only got to see her once, and will never forget what an absolute thrill it was. She was the epitome of talent. Wish she could have been here forever. I am so sorry for her loved ones. She was magnificent!!!
Wish I had seen her LIVE
Had the privilege to see Tina live……10 rows back center…. Best Female singer I ever saw… she tops them all.
She was a powerhouse!
And did it all in high heels.😄
She earned everything she had.
She was the best
Those legs never quit.
What a performance, "Steel Claw". Just wow. RIP Tina, a musical legend. As with all legends, they live forever. Immortal.
Isn't it a track called 'Rock'n'Roll Widow' ?
@@secrets461 She performs two tracks on this Carson episode, Rock 'n Roll Widow, followed by "Steel Claw".
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
And she will always be in our hearts. Forever until the day we pass on and then the younger generation will love her for us.
Rock and Roll Widow was included on the international version of Private Dancer
No one badder. Steel claw is such a HARD song too. 🔥🔥
The Legend of Legends! No one could work heels the way Tina could! Just love this woman ❤ RIP Beautiful ❤
“Legends of Legends! ❤ yes, yes & yes
What a woman, what a voice, what an endless energy! 👏🏼
TWO POINTS: 1. Very few non-Buddhists know that Tina was a very highly spiritual practicing Buddhist, with a few videos of her singing Buddhist chants that can be found on TH-cam that can be used as an aide to Buddhist meditation. 2. Her second song in this video reminds me of something that still makes me smile when I recall it. And that is, after performing with Tina, Cher said it was like dancing with a hurricane.
thank u so much for this info--Tina really is my soul sister-no wonder I have been drawn to her these last few years-I did not know she too was a practicing Buddhist-I have been invited to meet the Dali Lama THREE TIMES--and invited to dinners given in his honor-and was told by his next in line that I had been initiated into the Buddha realms long ago--which I DO recall. thankyou for sharing this point. Namaste!!!
@doranpat Check out an older movie from 1993 called What's Love Got To Do With It. Angela Bassett plays Tina Turner. You'll learn how she chose it.
I have been listen8ng to her mantras for some years. Amazing.
Man, nobody gets me going like Tina turner. Rest In Peace Tina.
Saw her 8 times. I sure do miss those concerts. She was phenomenal.
Wow you're so lucky and i'm so jealous 😊 Must have been absolutely amazing.
WOW 🤩
Amazing! I’m seeing her performances for for the time and she was a beautiful and extremely talented lady. Her voice is unlike any singer I’ve heard.
Great times!
you're so lucky
Wow, this was amazing. What an entertainer. There will never be another Tina. May she rest in peace 🙏🏽💐.
WOW! Tina Turner kills. ..and those lyrics are on point.
We were all lucky to be on the planet at the same time as Tina Turner.
Tina was a resilient Trailblazer. I am so profoundly happy that she found her happiness. Rest in Peace, Tina. Hats off to you, Mr. Erwin Bach, for you, sir, have earned our respect and gratitude. Thank you for taking care of Tina and loving her
Beautifully stated.
Thank You.
We as fans around the World mourn Tina's passing but my heart goes out to the man who loved her so, what a void he must feel.
Theirs was a REAL LOVE Story & Tina was an inspiration in every way.
Yasaassss! Tina was showing that beautiful body! And sis knew how to strut! Rest well Queen.
Tina could front a soul, R&B, or Rock & Roll band as well as anyone. She was absolutely the embodiment of those genres when she was performing. She was around 42 at the time of this appearance on The Tonight Show. This was no "hanging on as long as possible, living off of the past" performance. This was an artist still at the height of her power and about to skyrocket even higher. She had more Rock and Roll cred, charisma, and dynamism than most of the "kids" in the business in 1982. Its still fucking phenomenal all these decades later.
That's what breaks my heart about Elvis. We kids of the 1980s were jipped of his prime Legacy years. Tina was just 5 yrs younger then him. 😔 He has SO MANY health problems. Genes & Diet are EVERYTHING.
@@kelliintexas3575 Think about what Elvis and Tina could have sang together. Wow
@@danitaharris9919 hmm might of been interesting I suppose but two very different artists and two very different musical styles and material. Not really a good match I think I guess you could say that Tina came closest to that with her multiple duets with Tom Jones in the 70's but Tom had a stronger voice than Elvis and was quite a bit more dynamic in the late 70's than was Elvis. Also Elvis wasnt known for duets or wishing to share the stage with anyone else. Tina was always willing to serve to song first whatever that meant her contribution would be
This was posted 2 weeks ago, before she died. She simply is the best.
The hardest working woman in show business ❤️❤️❤️🤌🏽
Love Tina ❤️. One of the greatest of all time and certainly the hardest working. And 40 years later she is still beautiful 😍.
An absolute icon! ❤❤ Rest in power to simply the best - the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, legendary Tina Turner 💓👑
One of the all time greats
Have tears watching this. She was a seriously talented woman. Was lucky enough to see her twice at Wembley, the second being the 24/7 tour, which blew me away. Mum loved her, and we had Tina's simply the best played as we took our mum on her final journey. Thankyou Tina for the music and the memories. You ARE simply the best. Rest easy.❤
What a voice. What a woman. Tell me anybody who commands the stage like that!! Nobody. You forget she even has a band because all you do is stare at her.
12/31/82.
on the cusp of the most amazing meteoric rise .She could never have known the adulation love and appreciation and respect that was about to be and still is no rightfully given to her. She did however know her talent and boy, not an ounce of it was ever wasted. My Hero. Hail Tina !!!!! rip
She came, she saw, and she conquered. What an inspiration!
The Queen ‼️‼️‼️
She rocked us like a hurrican.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Queen of Rock N' Roll!!!
Love you Mrs. Tina Turner!
👑❤️💃🏾🎸
I love this era. Stars didn't need to be social media savvy or depend on "stans." It was all raw talent and being in the right place at the right time.
Tina was the greatest. I miss her but she left us so much to enjoy!
RIP Tina❤Turner! Simply the best.
Tina was amazing! I know where Mick Jagger got his moves!
That was outstanding… Thanks for this great trip down memory lane… Just straight up, Tina Turner…Simply The Best ! ! !

Legends Gone 😔.... ALL GONE
RIP all of them 🙏 💔
Absolutely astonishing!!! I love TINA! 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
Carson always appreciated great performers.....like Ms. Tina. and she was simply LETHAL.
Love that energy!!! We'll miss you
Queen, legend, the titles don't really express the absolute admiration for Tina. I'm a forever fan and will always have her on Play! Rock on forever!
Watched her in Concert in 87. Awesome entertainer!!! Best show I’ve ever seen, she connected with her audience.
What a PRIVILEGE to just have been alive during her reign as Queen. I got to see her live 4 times, her energy reached out to every member of the audience. We have lived through the GOLDEN age of popular music. Music today does not TOUCH what those of us in our twilight years got to hear. Thankfully, these videos will always remain and people will be listening to them for centuries. RIP Queen Tina, you got 18 wonderful years of retirement, enjoying the fruits of your labor and talent. Spending those glorious years with your soul mate. We will never forget you.❤❤❤❤❤
Tina was blessed ❤her natural look is priceless. ❤
Tina, you were so amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Simply the BEST..Tina Turner
Tina was truly the best. Watching Tina on Johnny Carson is pure magic.
I remember watching this episode at a New Year’s Party I went to . Classic Johnny Carson late show, which was the best.
Having Tina was Simply the Best.
RIP Tina.
You truly were the Queen.
In my mind you are the
Queen in Heaven.🌹👍🏻👍🏻♥️♥️
No lip-syncing here. But how does she have enough breath to sing? Amazing!
1982 at Caesar's Palace & the Ritz.... 2000, at Wembley. What a career arc. RIP, you Goddess.
Extremely hard to watch, to feel Tina, to understand that by 2023 she will leave us alone with her music her expression her warmth…my god to my gosh we have lost a girl that bounced back….beyond anything and everything…Your Simply The Best ..Better Than All The Rest doesn’t exactly place her being into prospective….I’m lost! I’m very humbled. Paul from Ottawa Ontario Canada..
I can't believe we've lost this beautiful and talented woman
incredible. I regret not ever seeing her in concert. Thank goodness we have video.
Unmatched. A true talent and a legendary performer!
25 year anniversary great job too
Goosebumps
... RIP great Queen of music. Had the luck to visit 5 concerts of her.
Steel Claw best song ever from Too hot to handle Tina
Wow. This is a terrific Tina performance.
R.I.P. Tina. The Best! ❤👍🙏♥️
That voice, those legs, that energy!
She’s the gift that kept on giving! Every show she gave 110 percent! God bless this powerhouse of a woman. I’m sure she’s rocking it up in heaven.❤
I feel the thunder now...
@@deboramccallum3987 She's still rocking
I know that's right 😊
One of mybfavorites of all time.❤
Tina was very beautiful. That whole band was feeding on her Energy.
Just awesome. A beautiful lady and such raw talent.
RIP Tina. She was a sweetheart, she adopted 2 children ❤
whats that got to do with the price of tea in china?
Ummmm...her husband's (Ike) children.
An epic performance
I ♥️ love Tina Turner! She's incredible.
A Legend that will inspire many generations to come...
R.I.P. Tina "The Queen of Rock" Turner - You were and will forever be Simply The Best...💜
🙏 RIP Tina Turner❤😢😢😢
Can’t no women will be able to ever move like Tina Turner, what a beautiful body and set of legs she was definitely and simply the best when it came to her dancing on the stage, RIP Tina Turner.👏🏾😔
Her legs..dayyyum!!! Everything!!! She was the bomb !!!! Love you always Tina!!!
now THATS Tina!!!! Love her!!
LOVE IT SO MUCH !!!! TINA IS FOREVER THE QUEEEEEEENNNN 😘😍👑👑👑👑❤❤
She was like no other! Indeed the queen! I love her energy and stage presence
“ she was like no other” ❤ Stands alone on the highest mountain as a magnificent ruler!
Tina was a force of nature ❤❤
I love the truly great like this lady, whether they're in a TV studio or a big stadium they always shine bright. The energy, the voice, the whole look, the legs, everything screams ICON. Tina was indeed fiery, and one of a kind, RIP.
Showstopper - killer vocals, looks, & moves - and this was a year before her 1983 comeback hit single "Let's Stay Together" & two years before her Private Dancer album in 1984!
Yes interesting that this performance was from.1982. Both these tracks were included on Private Dancer in 1984 (Rock and Roll Widow was on international version of Private Dancer only)
What a unique talent, it's not for nothing Mick Jagger, so many others tried to imitate those soaring energy moves- you just don't want it to stop. Beautiful woman, survivor and amazing voice. Um, not to mention some of the best "won't you come hither" mood music for low lights....💃❤
Rest in Power Tina! ❤
This is a performance before she really cut loose and let the real.Tina Turner come out. She definitely rocked the world with her performances!!! Love you, Tina!!
A ONE WOMAN SHOW!
Tina was more than amazing. She was blessed thru it all. RIP Tina. You are missed! #beautifulsoldier❤
No auto tune no lip synching pure talent
Truly the Queen of Rock and Roll! Saw her 3 times in concert- she was beyond beautiful and awesome! Love and will forever miss you Tina!
This is making me sad. God broke the mold with Ms. Turner. No one is taking her spot. There's no one to replace her. So many greats are passing on.
No one can ever take anyone's place, least of all someone as talented and beautiful as Tina. A kind and gentle soul.
My wife and I saw her perform in New Orleans; totally blew us away! So much energy and soul!
You will be missed Tina! You taught me What's Love Really Got to do with It!!! Crank out that voice, moves and passion up there in Heaven :)
Notice she performed two “deep cuts” from Private Dancer, not the obvious hit singles. The L.A. Times was correct that “her voice could melt vinyl”. RIP Anna Mae Bullock.
I can't believe that, as a Tina fan, that I never listened to Rock and Roll Widow before. This instantly shot up to my top 5 Tina Turner songs.
Fun fact: When she sang this on Carson, she hadn't even recorded it. It wouldn't appear on record until 1985's Private Dancer. Tina was still on her long hard climb back from the Ike years and the near-penniless years that followed. If I remember, she had either not been signed to a U.S recording contract at this point, or had just been signed, and she only got signed to Capitol after David Bowie (props to him) invited Captiol executives to come see one of Tina's concerts at that time, and they got to see the Tina experience up close.
I am curious about your top 5 Tina's if you'd like to share.
Personally I am still crazy about the brilliant album Private Dancer.
There was no "racist hold of the industry" at that time. Tina had already proven herself as a successful entertainer and there were a ton of black entertainers already signed with numerous record labels. I'm sure the executives in the industry felt that her career had already peaked and her popularity was waning. They just wanted to move on to signing newer artists. That's hardly "racist" thinking...
...and now I love Bowie even more
Outrageously FABULOUS!!!
I know why i didn't see this on television. I was out getting blown back then! She was absolutely rolling that night ! Stunning performance ! Nobody can strut on stage like Tina Turner could , and no one ever will. RIP Tina .
