I think moose is the boss best dancer i have seen in this movie he always keeps reinventing himself hes has that old school micheal jackson magic type of vibe going on lol awesome i hope they make more movies in the near future .
I find it interesting that Andy did actually blow out her knee in the other step up she was in. She could barely dance in the last dance when they where in the rain because of it
they are all SUCH an amazing dancers I just can't believe it, I wish I could dance like one of them and everything about this choreo it's just brilliant
Wtf? Did PacMan Choreo half of this? Sooo many IAmMe moves in this. Since he and Jaja were in it, they should of added the rest of them... I wonder that the budget for this film was, because this production looks lazy compared to the rest of the franchise. It looks like they were more focused on props and sets, instead of the originality and the choreo. It didnt look clean at all.
I was thinking the same. I love the story of Step Up 2 including the final dance though the final dance for Step Up 3 is my favorite. They killed the excitement from me for the movie after I heard Andy was going out with some other guy. I mean, couldn't they find a new couple? Anyway, but yes, they focused too much on the affects and props which took away the enjoyment of the choreography. My favorite part was when Moose and the other guy were dancing in the very beginning of the final dance. After that there was a lot of smoke, sand being thrown, fire in the mix, and then there was the fact that, in my opinion, there were too many people on the dance floor. It did not look uniformed like it did in the final dance of Step Up 3. They really overdid the final dance in this movie.
Watching this got me thinking that dance has really evolved itself since my days as a child. Though I guess right now, it may have evolved past a point that I can follow. I honestly didn't really appreciate much of this piece and it kinda saddens me that many other people in the comments seem to love the whole thing because I kinda feel like I'm behind the times or left out. I'm only 23 but the last 15 years have changed dance in leaps and bounds in my opinion and this is an example of that. Don't get me wrong, they have some great talent here. And I can at least acknowledge that the choreography is pretty unique and really played well to what each dancer could offer. But I didn't enjoy this at all. I mean maybe it's just all the gimmicks and props that put me off. Or perhaps the way I view dance just can't keep up with its pace anymore.
***** Long post incoming, skip to end for tl;dr. DISCLAIMER: All of the following is just my personal opinion. Some of it might just be wrong (I'm willing to admit that), but a large part is just subjective from my experience as a dancer for 5 years, my time as part of a dance company and keeping up with the dance scene for long before that (~5 years before I started, I think?). In general it was just that the choreography was just more theatrical than it was actually dancing. I can appreciate it as a theatre piece, but I feel that the vibe of actually dancing was missing, which is a huge pity because they have so many well known dancers. Lack of blowups, beatkills and even higher level moves made it seem just amateur to me. The end catch was so lackluster, I think I literally frowned when I saw that the first time. Watching the beginning, I had high hopes, because the isolations at the beginning with the two was really amazing, but short lived. After about a minute in, I felt there was no real dancing again until 3.40, where the hiphop choreo is... kind of simplistic at best, I feel. Up until that point, it just looked like a circus act, but not actually dancing. I don't see how the sliding around on the trolleys were linked to the overall concept. The bboy floorwork was so basic and minor that I was actually disappointed and I felt it was a waste of bboys. If you're going to use breakdancing, I feel you really have to go all-in and utilise powermoves, freezes and similar kind of dynamics. I'm probably biased because I'm a bboy myself, but it's just a huge waste of ability. Using high level bboys to do basic footwork is like using a nuke to kill one person - pointless. There were some nice bits, like the pentagon tutting and the animatronics at the end, but that aside, the piece just really wasn't that exciting when it came to the large chorus choreos and, for me, those should really be the massive parts where they bring the crowd to life. It looked like the choreographer was trying to overcomplicate it by making it do a lot of weaving and winding, which isn't bad in and of itself, but there's just no punch to it. I can only watch people body wave for so long before I get bored. Don't get me wrong, it's not as if the choreo was innately bad, but if you compare it to the previous Step Ups, the final dances were always exciting and the crew moments always blew it up and made it exciting, then they sprinkle it with lots of small parts that shoutout to different dance styles. Then you throw in comparisons from different crews - Jabbawockeez, Quest Crew, Morning of Owl, Body Carnival - When they do crew routines, those are the moments that hype the audience other than massive blowups. One last thing is the choice of music. The beginning and the dubstep part was good choice of music, I feel. After that, the music just didn't really seem to motivate me enough, it didn't pump me up and get the adrenaline running. And if there are beat kills in the choreography, it would be accentuated by the music (and vice versa). tl;dr - Stronger crew sections and better choice of music would probably have done it for me. The individual/duo parts were actually quite strong (except for that yawn-worthy ending).
The Long Story Boy you sure do live up to your name... and I appreciate your opinion I actually now agree with you for the most part. They may have been moving their bodies around, but actual dancing and a variety of moves and styles were lacking.
Many people have different tastes, there are people who like what you like as well. When music or dance evolves most minds evolve with it. So if you don't like it you don't like it and you probably never will. I think that is what makes us unique, our tastes in curtain things. Don't let that get you down.
I like step up revolution better ( not being salty). But in this the music and dance matches and its a really good mix... pretty bad a**. but still love this movie.
That beat with andie playing with fire just to much , i had to even remake the beat ca its just to much , hit me up ill send you the beat for 2:15 in this video (Y)
Jaydeen Merur Let me wake you up, there's a Step up 6 trailer already :) However though I'm not 100% if it's a troll who made the trailer, or if it's real. And I doubt the movie will be as good as the earlier Step up Movies with the Jabbawockeez
enemy team's thoughts: "the mob can't dance" my thoughts: they just did, there's nothing you can do about it. it's not like complaining about it will get you anywhere anyways.
Can someone tell me what was the name of the song when andie and the girls were dancing with fire? Becuz I know earthquake by labrinth, but there was another song in that mix. I cant help but finding out what it is. Someone please tell me
The last dance was the ONLY dance that I actually liked in the movie.. sorry but this movie didnt fill up to step up revolution's level.. loved the chemistry between Moose and Camille but Sean and Andie.. no way.. they just ruined step up 2 and 4
Has anyone noticed that in every Step Up starting form Step up 2, that whenever there's a final dance Moose would always bang his knee and hands on the ground? Or is it just me?
I think moose is the boss best dancer i have seen in this movie he always keeps reinventing himself hes has that old school micheal jackson magic type of vibe going on lol awesome i hope they make more movies in the near future .

I know, i algo expected more from this movie. Emilio is also there, he is with the grim knights
Can't be unseen...

Yeah, this is the first time I've actually been bored watching a choreo from the Step Up franchise. Hum. :(
+Emilio was in it
This is really a final dance for the most amazing movie there is. I never seen something like this, it was amazing in every way there is!!!
Watching this got me thinking that dance has really evolved itself since my days as a child. Though I guess right now, it may have evolved past a point that I can follow. Y'ain't the only one. Tbh, as choreo, I thought this was majorly boring, actually.
The Long Story If this dancing was truly boring to you, then what would have made it exciting?
