Will Smith eventually also became one of those powerful Hollywood guys... The reason "Bad Boys 3" took so long to finalize (way too long) was because Will Smith wasn't interested in the project.... Martin Lawrence even announced the 3rd part on national Television, but it wasn't happening because Will Smith didn't agree to do it. And even when they were doing "Bad Boys 2" it was all Will Smith.... While Martin Lawrence & Tea Leoni basically stole the show in the OG from 1995, things were very different years later during "Bad Boys 2".... Martin Lawrence character Marcus Burnett was basically turned into a comical overgrown child that can't be taken serious, whereas Will Smiths character Mike Lowrey was that "I'm too cool for yo ass - I'm banging my partners sister and he's too silly to notice it" - type of character. But that's just one of the issues in Hollywood.
What I can't understand is that in this interview, Campbell alludes somewhat that he's shy around women, and too slow to escalate intimacy with them - yet he was in a relationship with his co-star from the 1992 movie "Rocketeer" who was in her prime, and arguably one of the prettiest females ever. I have no idea why he would feel so timid around women, especially being a famous actor.
Yes, I m jealous too. But you can see why Jennifer Connelly liked him, who too had this introvert personality. And for a guy like Billy Campbell, he had this maturity, sensible and caring vibe. It is common knowledge that teenage girls who grew up among more childish male counterparts get attracted to this type of older guys.
