I have a Belgian Malinois as my service dog who was a street dog before I got him from the animal shelter. He is wicked smart and has one hell of a bite. I am so lucky to have found him.

As a K-9 handler you can't ask for a better or more loyal friend in the world.
My friend who is a police officer has a beautiful, loving yet tough German Shepard. To me, they’re my favorite. Much respect to these men and their doggies! It’s an unbelievable bond.

I was beyond happy to see a black lab thrown in the mix. You always see Malamutes & Shepherds as police K9s but you rarely see any other breed of dog anymore so it was very refreshing to see a lab make it into the bunch! Amazing Doggos!

K-9 unit always hits my heart in a different way. These dogs are incredible and courageous... and not to mention adorable
7:24 that look the dog gave him is giving me chills. It shows the bound between them on an emotional level. Give them your heart and they will give you all they have!
My heart is brimming with joy with these K9's...love you all!

I lost my German Shepherd, Rex in Afghanistan after he saved my life from an IED :( I got badly insured but he lost his life . . . R.I.P. Rex, my best friend ever.

The most beautiful fearless dogs! I feel very Dog has a purpose it my be a work dog a family dog giving love ! But the trust you have in your dog is so great! I rescued a beagle 2 years ago that had been abused, and now she is rescuing me !!!! Thank you for all the men women and the beautiful K9s that keep us safe everyday!!!!

I love the k9s and their handlers..i was fortunate to meet the officer and the dog in person..i will never forget when they came to visit..yes they came to my home..iam disabled .My whole family got to meet the k9 and handler ..i even got to meet two other k9 officers..it was a high light in my life..so memorable.

Amazing dogs! I love the fact that the handlers really love their dogs. I don’t think they’ll give you a dog if you’re not already a dog lover. These guys def are dog lovers. This was nice to watch!

It depends on the specific states. In Texas, it was not until this year that it was the default. But generally, that's the idea.

Great video, heartwarming about how the police officers and canines have such a bond.
Never forget the story of the officer that responded to a call in a neighborhood. Turns out it was an ambush and two guys were beating him to death. Officer managed to hit release on the door and his K9 came out there and ripped those guys up and saved his life
Oh my, that was an amazing relief he had his bestfriend with him. Poor burglars didn't know there was a goodest beast waiting for them to be chewed.
I have met Officer Buchmann and k9 Talon. They both came in to NEWTECH in 2019 to teach us about k9 handling and we met Talon, but he was retired. Since then I have enlisted in the USAF and will be a k9 handler for the USAF in 2022

I found out that a K9 was poisoned in a town in Oklahoma and family knew the dog. It was sad. The town named a dog park in his honor. People who are inclined to be vicious will find a way to harm these precious dogs.
All of the dogs that my family owned and some of my cats were poisoned.

For the cats, a lot of old fxcks just don't like animals besides the ones they can eat, they injure animals badly and kill them, some people broke into my house couple times trying to steal my cats unsuccessfully, so if they can't take them they just poison them.
For the dogs, back in the civil war, mostly military and terrorist groups, they just eliminate the dogs, so they won't be detected, dogs disappeared in the area one by one, my neighbor lost a Doberman but felt worse and cried for our dog Rocky, a Belgian Shepherd that all the town knows and has unbelievable stories on his intelligence.
There is one time where a homeless dog got shot by soldiers, he used to go aggressively on them and their tank when they pass by his territory.
Then there were moments where burglars poison dogs but it never happened to us, but people who leave poisonous food (for rats) in our backyard.
Now, last dogs that we adopted are growing old safe from all those things, the last dog we have lost, 11 years ago, a German shepherd brought from France. She could be even smarter than Rocky but left too soon.

Wish I can afford to immigrate somewhere else and move some animals or at least get some veterinary training to make animals lives better.
I have a falcon that I helped healing his injuries but I feel like I can do more with him, unfortunately.

A lot of inmates also have hurt children and animals. You know or see harm by humans to animals, there's a potential inmate.

@@DianaKazimiera- what can we do to stop the poachers and crazy people from killing innocent wolves and coyotes and other wildlife? I wish we could get a sign up sheet so we can get rid of the poachers and crazy people who feel it’s fine to kill wildlife- animals are very important and they help people even, when they know that they’re bad people out there. I wish we could show the animals where the traps are set so they don’t get trapped and killed. Several people don’t think about the animals trying to survive and raise their young. I know that they’re wild, but they need to be free.
this is awesome - my grandfather was a dog trainer in WW2 - to his dying day you could sense his love and missing of the dogs.
the only criticism /question I have is getting the dogs from other countries. Cant tell me that in all of America dogs can not be found of equal character and ability.

Setting my human family aside for the moment, I have loved two family members over 20 years and each gave me gave me love and joy. As my tag they were Jack and Amy both rescue mates some years apart. My wife Di can't listen to that song Jack and Diane it still hurts for her, me I can't look at a Rottie.

As smart and amazing as these dogs are, I’m more amazed they can get so many group pictures with all the dogs also looking at the camera.

I see Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd blood and drive mixed with German Shepherds to add size to these dogs.
I have a 55 lb Dutch Shepherd and the dog is amazing. Can hurdle 6 foot fences and pulls harder than any dog I have worked with in 6 years of Veterinary Medicine experience.
I am willing to get hired by police for a bad guy position just to play with the dogs lol

When my husband was a Dallas PO...he often worked with the J9 unit. He said there was NOTHING that worked as well and as fast as as the statement “We are sending the dog’s in”
