Ol' Don was one of the best there ever was... no fancy stage show, no explosions or light show, no auto-tune... the man would just stroll out, sit in his stool, sip on his coffee and deliver some of the finest most honest and pure vocals you've ever heard. Talent like that is gone. Thank God above that we still have the recordings of these great talents.
He`s the man to me, not only is he a superb singer but he is someone that gave me and my family a little comfort at a sad time. My brother, who was a coach driver, would drive him to his gigs in Britain and when our Nicky passed away he took the time to send a beautiful spray of flowers and a card with words that you could of made into a song.....and for that I thank him.
As a boy, I couldn't speak English, but I could sing every Don Williams song. I'd play air guitar on a giant wooden spoon while standing on a kitchen chair. RIP Don. You're the greatest.
some times i wonder whether the world will ever get perfect country singers like Don Williams,Jim Reeves,Dolly parton and Kenny Rodgers Men these these guys defined country music.
I learned about him late in life and his voice is so peaceful and soothing, I just can't get enough of his music. Thank you Don I hope you're still singing in heaven.
Get Well, and a speedy recovery.. Your voice and my Uncles were so much alike , hard to believe but so true.. being from a country music family all my life, I grew up to Don s music my Uncle was a singer song writer in Tenn, for years and he new all.. of the greats as friends as well..enjoying your music to this very day..all time favorite " Good'ol boys like me..Thank you for my memories..
There's a lot of country music ( if u wanna call it country) made just for a quick dollar anymore that's not worth a crap. People will be listening to Don Williams a hundred years from now. Pure class, pure country! THANKS DON FOR THE GREAT MUSIC!
That beautiful deep voice! I first heard Don Williams on the radio while on the way to a follow up appointment for my 9 days old son after he'd been hospitalized for a serious illness. I was holding my newborn when "I Believe in You" came on and the lyric "I believe in babies" hooked me. When I hear that song I'm taken back to August 1981. Have been a Don Williams fan ever since. He had the best voice ever.
I'm definitely not the greatest country music lover on the planet - but I have always loved the music of Don Williams! There's a certain soothing quality about his songs.
I have loved the music of Don Williams for a lot of years, and it is a sad day for me that he has gone. I do somehow know that he has gone home to be with the Lord which is something more incredible than our finite minds can imagine. Rest in the arms of Jesus Mr. Williams.
I cried when I heard he died, I don't cry that easily. His music and lyrics meant a lot to me and though he may be gone his words and music live on. Listening in to him live on a stage that didn't have the best sound back up but still without a doubt the best voice anyone has ever heard and he was above 70 then.
Don is my favorite artist of all times, I always come back to country throughout my life to hear a song by him that touches me in so many ways, easy listening, whether sad, loving, or a story I can relate a point in my life to it. And most always close to the release of his next album, Of which I have 30 tapes, 5 cd's and 2 vinyls. The one thing I would love to find is a karaoke album of all his songs, not just a select few cause they never pick his best in my opinion.
Is Southern base good old boy voice made him my favorite country music Man. But also the Poetics that he puts in the songs grab your heart and squeezes it thanks. Don
Surely that voice is a legendary gift, i cant get tired of listening. And so it goes is equally a match to the greatest hits, there are no inferiors in my collection every effort every hit was a masterpiece.Glory be to the Lord for giving Don to us
I have always loved Don Williams. So glad you're still singing. Please come to Albuquerque, NM so i can go and see and hear you. I love the voice that God has Blessed you with.
my dad made me love this man. I love everything about him from his voice the way he sings and I can never get tired listening to him sing. he is really a legend.love you don
My dad passed away a few weeks after Don, I grew up listening to his music and bonded with my dad over his music. I am grateful I experienced such moments with my family and Don was the soundtrack to it all.
I love you brother. you got me through alot a hard times. to say your missed is an understatement and as far as how much your family misses you; all I can do is imagine that!!!
Hey Don Williams I use to Laugh at My Dad because He So Loved Your Music. NOW, I Can't Put Your Music Down!! RIP Mr. Williams and Thank You for The Gift You Left Us.
Listening to Don Willaims is a treasured memory of my childhood. A smooth voice that doesn't yell just like Vince Gill described. I miss the days when it was just the singer and a lone guitar.
I grew up in Floydada Texas. I remember when Don rolled in on his bus. I'd never seen a bus with wire wheels. It looked cool though . That's when he was given the keys to the city. I love this man
Hey Don, I saw you at was supposed to be your farewell tour...I'm glad it was a short lived farewell...love your music and you...take care my friend and keep on keep'in on!
Vince Gill said it perfectly..You turn it on (Don) and you are so relieved that someone isn't yelling at you..New country has a big problem with that..Don is just awesome..Always has been..
I hope & pray Don Williams is still with us. I am so far behind on what is happening where......wherever be is, I have enjoyed his music for years I alwAys believed he would disappear from the public eye and live out his days with his family & close friends. He has alwAys been an humble center of attention, family person to me. I grew up on his songs! He always been a down home, not letting fame go to his head kind of person to me.... and that soft soothing voice is beyond word!! Thank you for posting!!!!!
the world is astage and all people are player when your time is over u quit ,we will live to remeber don for a good number of years .his music is medicine period .but im happy u reached the real age of men many wish to reach . proceed to entatain those in heaven /earth ,but we need your repalcement your shoes are very big
“One of the most blessed” is exactly what you were dear Don and what you deserved to be, especially with that unique voice. We must also be some of the most blessed to have been blessed with you all these years. ❤Rest In Peace ❤
The man was real and like he said if its good music it needs to be heard ,not like it used to be now ,i gave up on music because its so not easy to get there when you spend 45 yrs doing it with no luck
He has such a soothing voice! When I was in the hospital for 2 months after having emergency bowel resection, about dieing, having no food for 2 months, finding out I have ovarian cancer, having to do chemo, about dieing again, having more complications from the chemo, then not being able to work. There are a couple of singer I listen to alot. And he's on the top of the list!
Your music is touching Don every bit of it flows to the roots of every nerve in my heart. I live the message everyday and at times it helps me overcome my relationship problem.I have got a good woman and we have a good fire going$
Here in SA he is the only person who defines what is called country music i rememberhim visiting Zimbabwe🇿🇼.....belive me when I say I admire his work even to introduce his music (countrymusic) to us as we were kids growing up .......I love the ghost story cos I can relate to it........RIP gently giant.
And So It Goes in my opinion is one of Don't best. As far as I know I have every song he has ever recorded and the songs on this album stack up against some of his biggest songs. Just wish the radio stations would play his music. Looking forward to October 18, 2013 as I have front row seats for Don's concert at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Saw him perform there the last two years, and what a show they were.
This world is kinda lonely without you Don..I listen to your beautiful voice, and it helps....
Ol' Don was one of the best there ever was... no fancy stage show, no explosions or light show, no auto-tune... the man would just stroll out, sit in his stool, sip on his coffee and deliver some of the finest most honest and pure vocals you've ever heard. So true! I saw one of his shows and loved it. He's my favorite artist and he just sang his songs with no frills;. just tons of talent .
Saw Don 3 times live , the never sang a BAD note . Thank you
Agreed and well said :)
He`s the man to me, not only is he a superb singer but he is someone that gave me and my family a little comfort at a sad time.
